I just bought a jazzy MP3 player after years of using a Smartphone with smaller amounts of music, a few albums at most but now I have converted GBs and GBs of music over to the new MP3 player but many of the files have ended up a complete mess with albums missing songs or albums being distributed over several albums.
Are there any easier ways to reorganise the files than manually going through every single album and sorting them out? I am hoping there is some software that can do this otherwise it will take me years to go through it all and I really don't like the idea of manually organising 60GBs of files Especially because the MP3 player was a impulse buy because it was on sale and I never had a clue what I was letting myself in for.

Found Tag & Rename its fairly easy to use and updates and renames files and adds the right IDs with a few clicks, is there anything better than this?

That's generally pretty good.
I'm in the process of writing a media player, so I already have my own code for tagging and renaming files based on formats the user chooses, so I just run that over a heap of mp3s and let it sort it all out in nice neat folders and such.
What probably happened with your mp3 player is it's more than likely only reading IDv1 tags or just reading IDv2 tags and some of them have incomplete or inaccurate data stored in the particular format it's trying to read instead of reading both versions and deciding which version has the most complete and accurate info. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

Might give that a shot. Only reason i'm familiar with gracenote is because it comes with winamp, and it misses a small amount of the more obscure music i have.

I think that's definitely the problem, some of the music has been ripped from CDs with some tapes and vinyl over the years with much of the data entered manually and I have various digital formats that I have "acquired". I converted them into MP3s in a long term project to digitize all of my music. Not just the tags are broken in some cases songs are out of sequence as well.
But fixing the tags and putting the tracks back in order works ok and for the compilation/custom albums you can add properly formatted tags fairly quickly.
