As the topic says, I'm burned out. I guess after last week when me and my corp evaced back to empire that I began to feel less interested, not really wanting to mine asteroids of ore and ice. I tried some of the new missions, even went and found some cosmic anoms to rat in, but and it was hard to admit, I'm burned out.
Even reading the forums has burned me out, and therefore I decided to let my subcription expire in a couple weeks. This place called Eve is ok for those who continues onwards, but for those like me, it becomes something of a fad in passing, not really what I wanted or was looking for. It can never replace a previous mmorpg to which I am returning to.
Will I return?? I might once I get a new computer and new internet. How long would I return for?? Who knows. But, in all honesty I don't know if I could come back as I tried really hard to advance in my experiences in EVE, there's more I'm sure that I could do.
To you the community, CCP, I will miss you, I will be thinking of those I call friends. I will even miss reading the forums and making an occassional comment or thread, but in true fashion again I'm just...burned out.

Go check out the test server and walk around your CQ for 10 minutes and check out all that new upcoming content.
That's the joke.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the ho's and politicians will look up and shout 'Save us!' and I'll look down, and whisper 'no.' |

Speaking as someone who has burned out a few times, taken a lot of time off...
...you're gonna hate yourself for not keeping that skill training going when you come back.

Ive done that a few times myself. Then I end up getting nostalgic months later, and I forget what irritated me in the first place that I quit. Maybe it was a huge loss, maybe it was the 0.0 mechanics...I cant remember, I just want to go back to rebuilding my empire.
Then I kvech that I didnt at least train during the time I took off.

Let me, if I may say this, I am burned out because part of the problem lies in the fact that a substandard computer with an Intel chipset just does not cut it, and the frequent disconnects are getting out of hand (not on my end), and then when I am doing something and I get disconnected in the worse time (middle of mission, mining), then I think you can see why the burnout has caused me to lose interests.
I know you think I'm whining, but I'm not, I am merely stating observations from my gameplay that has finally over run me to such a point that, I'm just burned out. I have taken breaks before and came back refreshed, but this time a round I don't know if I will or not.
I can only say that time will tell, and what the future of this mmorpg will be in the forseeable future. I know you all dont mean half of whats been commented but at this point I just could care less, and still I have great respect for those of you that did. Truly in the spirit of being able to say to you who will press on come hell or high water I salute you and wish you well.

It's true, mining damages you more than you think, I've stopped mining a long time ago and gave away my Hulk and stuff, it's the most mindnumbing thing anyone ever invented for a game.
But yea, it's ok to quit when you don't feel like playing anymore. There's always the trap that you feel you should go on 'because you already invested so much' and that's even more valid for EVE than most other games. So yea, good of you to still listen you what you feel.
Bye!

Burnout is inevitable for anybody who invests a huge amount of time/energy/emotions into a game, any game. The nice thing about EVE is when you burnout and quit the game for a while, EVE ( and your stuff ) will still be there if you have a desire to rejoin.
No need to give your stuff to me, and dont worry about skill training time lost while away, you dont know how long you will be gone for, so why pay for subs?
Just put everything on hold, who knows, you may be back before the end of the year.

if you have any cash left in your wallet, you should give it to me. NO WAIT. I mean you should go ahead and spend it on plexes, keep yourself training during your break. If you come back, you'll be glad you keep your skill queue full, and if you don't come back, you weren't going to miss that money anyway.

burnout happens in EVE very frequently.
Try not to burn any bridges, keep your character training while your subscription lasts (set a 30d skill), hand off any responsibilities you might have in your corp, maybe uninstall the EVE client to get it out of sight and then take a few weeks off.
In the future try to vary your playstyle, take a light-hearted approach to the game and become good at delegating tasks.
Goonswarm CEO The Mittani is known to suicide-gank Hulks in empire or pvp in a Sabre to relax from running a space-empire.

My 2 cents is that with all mmos, you will get burnt out at some point. I've quit and came back to Eve and other mmos several times. If you are good on money right now, you could keep the sub and training going, talk to your Eve bros from time to time, and play whatever the other mmo is for now. Or you could cancel the sub, and come back basically where you left off in a few weeks, months, years whatever. Who knows, Maybe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45mlVuLs_Nw will be waiting for you when you come back to Eve!!!
