It sounded like they replaced the entire UI infrastructure code in this last patch...cut them some slack, it's not an easy thing to do that, or test it for that matter. Sure some of these bugs seem obvious, but these guys are working with timeliines and priorities if they are anything like the software company I work for. It will all get ironed out.

How about they start with no new content and fix old bugs until the game runs right without 3 to 4 patches to fix the main patch for starters, The OP is right, this sh*t is getting old

Pointing out rediculous contradiction in the OP's post.
-"Fix old stuff, dont introduce new stuff"
Derp. They were fixing the base code for the old UI so they can bring it up to date to make it look better. That's fixing old stuff - you douche.
They just did what you asked and so you flame them? Dont be dumb.
You try to take 200k plus lines of code from 2003 and try to revamp it for 2011.
Im not aware of any other MMORPG company out there that is attempting to do what CCP is doing - which is update an old game to keep with current times. Look at all of the older MMO's from that era - where are they now?
Ultima Online? Still looks like old Ultima. No real updates there. They had a re-skinning to make it look fake 3d but that's about it.
EverQuest? Umm. What?
Asheron's call? No idea.
I could go on and on. CCP is trying to do something very revolutionary by NOT throwing away a game and starting from scratch.

Refactoring the entire UI codebase so that long standing issues can be fixed and/or replaced is totally ignoring old bugs and working on new content. -- Did you know there's an alliance who's name you're not allowed to say, or website you're not allowed to link? |

This most recent patch was the last straw. I have played for over 2.5 years now and I have dealt with buggy patch after buggy patch and broken game mechanics, and I am totally fed up. You continue to pursue new features and new shiny things to impress us without ever fixing the old. I don't give a damn about PI, or incursions, new avatars, or incarna. I want to be able to fly my ship and not continually lag or desync. I want to be able to play without having to worry about the client constantly crashing because you can't release a decent patch.
In the beginning I loved eve, I even got two accounts, but in the last year and a half of constantly releasing new features I have become fed up with your refusal to fix the features already in the game. I would rather play a smaller well working game, then a bloated broken mess that is Eve Online at the moment.
So CCP, my question to you, as a customer: Why should I continue to fork out my hard earned cash for a game that you refuse to fix? All your new content has done is made the game worse not better. You will lose more customers because your game is broken then you will gain with new content. I would rather pay for quality content, over quantity content any day.

lag and desync are causing you to leave? I wish I could say I was sad that you are going... but on the bright side maybe there will be less lag with you off playing rift.
CCP are constantly fighting to control these issues. in fact, there have been mass tests just this week. Did you get involved in helping with these? or did you just post complaints?

This sums it up. I have been playing this game on and off since the Beta with this account and regularly since 2007 with three accounts. Should we have to "test" patches through regular game play after they are released? In a perfect world, no. However, I believe CCP offers ample opportunity for player input and testing, and if one is not willing to avail themselves of these opportunities then posts such as this can be reasonably classified as whining. Furthermore, take the time and effort to get involved and provide feedback at testing events where you are assured that it will get heard - not venting to your fellow players.
Then again, what do I know?

My great-grandmother was dying for 89 consecutive years before finally finishing...
I've been dying for 30-some... Hopefully I will continue to die for quite a few more, but I like cigarettes, raw meat and sketchy women, so I'm not really counting on it. ___

Been here more than 4 years, confirm that EVE has always been buggy, confirm that it's getting worse every year.
Incarna is coming and with it a whole new lot of shiny useless things, with a whole new set of bugs.
If you're already getting annoyed I suggest taking a break for 2-3 months while they work through all the faults and release more patches. And CCP are fixing the old stuff, that's what team BFF is for.
Read the blogs and you'll keep up to date with what's going on and hopefully you will then stop talking out of your *ss.

As someone who has tried out almost every MMO and play hundreds of other non-mmo games, I can safely say EVE really isn't that buggy compared to other games.
If you think EVE is buggy then don't try anything else, you'll probably go mad.
Yeah there are still bugs, some of them do get annoying but that is the same with every game on the market.
Also lag and desync is caused by your Internet connection, don't blame CCP for that. Crashing is usually based on your computer specs as well, sometimes it is CCPs error though.

I like the way this forum reacts. Most real characters (those in an alliance) agree with op, while useless randoms are taunting him.
Eve isn't dying. Eve hasnt been dying for 8 years. But for about 2 years now, it seems that more and more players are feeling that CCP is making some really bad management choices.
As far as I'm concerned, Eve is still the best game around. But yeah for about a year and a half, i don't subscribe for 1 year subscription and I los my faith in CCP. I ain't sure they will make the right decision about eve future.
Surely Eve won't die. But maybe in the future I'll leave Eve. I played Eve for quite a long time now, because of epic 0.0 battles and alliance life. And maybe me, as a player who was seduced by the content that made Eve so special, I will leave this game to casuals and sims - Barbie online lovers.
I hope not. I still hope. But I surely don't have any faith that CCP will improve the game.

Back in the day, people wrote maybe one or two whinethreads, then quit and were not missed. Nowadays it seems some people just pay the subscription for the right to whine on the forums.

Then again, what do I know?
It would help if CCP would delay patches/expansions and ask for help on doing their QA work like they ask for help with mass testing and lag. If they focus on the bug reports they have few of and ask players to help out on them with incentives/ads in the login screen/news. That might encourage more players to do the QA team's job, it isn't very motivating to test things for CCP only to see them show up in the patch/expansion after being submitted time and time again.
Since they don't seem to value their customers enough to delay the releases if they need more time or ask for help if they need more data fewer people probably test for them.
CCP seems fine pushing testing on all of the players to deal with before fixing the issues thus giving them the extra time they need, and the opportunity to get more data on the issues.
Now one could say they do that because there aren't enough people testing for them but how much of a motivator is seeing them 'ignore' bugs over and over that go 'live' for all players to deal with?
