I was rather "fortunate", and only half of the structures on one of my planets vanished when 1.6 was released. The latest patch mysteriously alluded to some PI fixes, but those vanished structures are still gone, and still taking up power and CPU as though they weren't, despite their production being halted mid-program.
While the heat map does seem to correlate properly with resources once again, some of my planets have experienced violent shifts in their resource concentrations after the patch. This will mean the very costly reconstruction of my colonies, which I built to be static. (I'm aware of setups that allow for varying degrees of ECU "mobility") And that's the SECOND TIME I'll have been forced into this. The cost of structures aught to be WAY cheaper until CCP can patch PI without forcing us to rebuild everything. My colonies have to operate unabated for over a week to pay for themselves, and a lot of people have it a lot worse than that.

I sympathise. Running a starbase with this garbage going down adds another dimension to this already frustrating game. Whether or not you have realised this yet. These problems, and I will include the Jamming issues in missions, are all designed to slow down the ISK making of players. We start to gain momentum as we increase our understanding of the game and ISK generation increases. CCP then designs something to trip us up so that for one step forwards it's 2 steps back.

Unfortunately for you PI is not an isk faucet (in-fact it's an isk sink due to customs) like missions are.
Unless you meant personal wallet income, in which case, htfu.

Edited by: Maplestone on 03/06/2011 22:53:09 Have you tried clearing your cache since the patch?
(I didn't have this problem, but from what I've read there were two seperate issues and one was a result of cache issues)

Nope, didn't work, one of my character's planets has 2 installations that don't show, and my extractors on a particular planet cut the head graphics in half at a specific line running top to bottom of the planet in one specific spot.
The structures seem to be on an incorrect "layer" or there's a part of the planet/heatmap model thingamagig, however they do it, that is in the wrong "layer" blocking parts of objects. It's a pretty linear path and it seems to be fairly consistent in size the area it affects. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

Edited by: ZenZorZar on 05/06/2011 13:05:58 Edited by: ZenZorZar on 05/06/2011 13:05:27 ...just placed a "new" ECU on one of my planets, and that client was patched, i heard the sound, could subbmit, but it never did appear as a "clickable" building.
when i try to build a 2nd ECU the head-range circle comes up tho....
sooo now who is gonne tell me how to remove that building again to free cpu / grid on that planet again ?

I thought it was just me. I have 5 planets, but only one planet got screwed up. I petitioned it about 4 days ago, but haven't heard back from them yet. Hopefully it will get fixed soon, it's so expensive to redo the whole thing. Especially with hi sec production having gone down so much.

since most of us PI toons are waiting for CCP to fix the "layering' issue on the planets so that we can move them around or delete them. Everyone who is doing PI needs to send in a bug report and a link to a .jpg of the planet in question to prove that it is real and not a cache issue. I have 18 planets and 5 planets have this same issue.

same, here one Extractor (not showing up) with heads (showing up).
Further, I experienced, that if I put my extractors to the bad areas, according to the heat map, I will gain much more resources, then if I put them into the white areas.
Further the amount varies quite a lot. One day I get 10 times more then on the next day. A day further I get again a huge output. Taking screen shots, and making some stats to get proof of it. Circle of Shadows - Recruiting now www.eve-cos.info |

Just confirming that the PI pins are still hidden under what appears to be a gfx layer for one of my planets as well. I tried clearing the cache yet again last night and the pins are still hidden except for a single pin that is partially hidden.

A quote from tomorrow's patch notes for you all:
"A mathematical error in the culling system caused issues in the longitude "seam" of a planet. This would cause planetary installations to disappear from planet overview. This has now been fixed."

Excellent. Looking foreward to all the compensation I'm sure CCP will award us for this grievous impact to productivity. Let me just take a really deep breath...

The patch fixed the problem of hidden pins for me. Thanks for the fix!
