Edited by: Tamur Theorabies on 04/06/2011 05:39:00 Last week I opened my NeoCom and saw that all was not good. I casted my sight on the corporation panel and witnessed the torrents of war. I disapproved, decided to run for CEO and won.
Now, under my command, Gallente Independent Progressive Alternative has started peace negotiations with the Star Fraction.
This war has lasted long enough. During the difficult days, days of grievance, we remained focused. Now, a new tide of reexamination and tolerance is welcome. The pursuit of galactic reconciliation can only advance the ideal of all-encompassing freedom.
The region of Placid has been inflicted by the perils of war and pain. With the advance of peace, defences of impregnable strength no longer need to be maintained. We should attempt to reduce arms on all sides.
Let the fires of war be extinguished!

Your surrender has opened a door that the Federation might never be able to close.
Congratulations.

Star Fraction has proved itself to be open to more peaceful solutions to organizations which they have hostilities towards in the past. This mutual cease fire and dissolution of hostilities in favor of peace and possibly commercial relations can only be for the best on both sides.
Of course, I shouldn't expect someone such as yourself to understand the definition of striving for peace.

This is interesting news indeed.
Ammentio accused of murder!
Then removed from his leadership position within the Gallente Independent Progressive Alternative.
Only to be replaced by the peace loving Mr. Theorabies.
Coincidences ran amok?
I think not.
On this matter I must agree with the Honorable Sinjin Mokk.

As always we are open to fair and forthright negotiation and we welcome the request for ceasefire from the Gallente Independent Progressive Alternative.
The Star Fraction's presence in placid is itself a profoundly progressive deployment and our firm intention is to foster good relations with open-minded and commercially-viable partners in the region while continuing our patrols against closed-border territorialists, psychopathic kill-junkies and regressive imperialist agents in their many guises.
Your request for talks and resolution is granted Tamur Theorabies and we are happy for you to put away the guns and join a more productive discussion of regional commercial development and potential future cooperation if such things meet our mutual self-interest.
You have it in your power to ensure the concord sanctioned declaration is not repeated, and if you will give a clear statement now of your acceptance of the Fraction's role as progressive commercial partner to Placid regional development and champion of NRDS Free-Space principles in general - I will be happy to place a motion before the Free Captains of the Fraction to strike your organizations -10 status from alliance registry and return your corporation to neutral standing.
We will patiently await your response.
Join the Revolution!

Actually, I always try to strive for creating peace and maintaining order. It's what we law-enforcement types do.
What I was was getting at, is that once you open the door and allow yourself to negotiate with terrorists, it's devilish hard to close it again. Other terrorists tend to think you're ripe for the plucking. And as we've recently seen, Federal Robotics has already gotten rather plucked.
I imagine this peace you've created is going to benefit Star Fraction far more than it's going to benefit the Federation.

The Federation is hardly one monolithic notion Sinjin Mokk. On the one hand you have hardline crypto-fascists like "general soter" and his Moira blackshirts quite willing to deploy in force to quash the peaceful aspirations of the Intaki independence movement. While the other you have genuine free-traders and progressives looking at the opening up of lowsec markets and increased prosperity across the board.
Our revolution is not a movement of pointles penury snarling bitter jealousy at the economic success stories of the star cluster. We have always believed that fiscal influence breeds power and independence and the confidence to breakaway from paternalist systems of hierarchy by voluntary choice.
So the notion that coming to terms of peaceful coexistance with Star Fraction will somehow disadvantage anyone is shocking distortion of reality.

Actually Ms. Constantine, I would agree with much of what you've said about the Federation.
I would also agree about the the importance of fostering a strong economy.
However, the point that I was making is that by opening a peaceful dialouge with your organization, it gives the rest of the Federation and it's corporations the appearance of weakness. It's an open invitation for other, more lawless groups to spread their dissention through violent means. With this announcement we've seen one bombing and one sucessful assassination of a Gallente political figure. Coincidence?
So in a way, I'd say the people of the Federation might already be disadvantaged. I'm not saying that this was your intent, but it's going to be hard to ignore the end results.

What does the "G" in GIPA stand for?
As I've been saying, it's all about perception. A Gallente organization makes an announcement that they're capitulating to a terrorist organization and it casts a bad light on the Federation.
But hey, it's your Federation. Reap the whirlwind.

Well Mademoiselle Farel, Monsieur Syagrius and everyone, I have to admit that the latest events have taken their toll on me.
The war and the recent accusations have lowered my approval ratings, and this is the outcome.
I'm going to take a leave from politics to get my personal life in shape.
Thanks for all who supported me.

A very understandable reaction Ammentio as it would seem that critical thinking is more prevalent within the Empire than the Federation these days.
But be that as it may, letÆs not forget that Mr. Theorabies is a politician, now running a political organization. Whose life blood is popularity and public support.
Lets see how the public react to ôhisö decision to submit to Star Faction, a group whose history and deeds speak for themselves.

Congratulations.
Behind the door, an era of peace and prosperity is waiting. On this side, devastation and war prevail. For me, the choice is easy.

As a law-enforcement type you must know that someone always has to take the first step. Without peace initiatives, the war will never end.
It is true that these negotiations are putting our party at a slight disadvantage, but in the end I am certain that this arrangement will be profitable for everyone involved.

GIPA is a civilian organization, and it should be acceptable if people perceive it as such. Only the future will tell whether more lawless groups appear but I am certain that they will be dealt with on case-by-case basis. And like Ixiris says, I am sure that rest of the Federation and its corporations can speak for themselves.

Because of course, I base my entire perception of the Empire off the Imperial Pharmacy, and assume that anything that Vaari does is indicative of official Imperial policy.

Certainly lawless in the sense that they are unbound by Gallentean law. It's always sad to see peace break out, though.

Mr. Theorabies.
Please understand that I donÆt wish you personally orà your organization any ill will. If my comments have been sharp, please understand that they were so, in presumed defense ofà my friendà of Ammentio. You have my apologies in that regard. While I understand your desire to return to ôpeaceö, being a civilian political organization, you have made a deal with the devil, which will be your undoing. ~Simply reaches and ends communication.~

Law does not equate to princple or honour with any real certainty. There are many examples of nations whose "laws" are base and depraved. To praise the notion of law universally is to declare one's own subjegation to the will of more powerful men. One might hope the law-makers are just and trustworthy, but experience so often proves otherwise.
