So I'm pretty new to the life of the trader, but it seems to me that a list of all of the system pairs that consititute gateways between regions would be very useful. I searched these forums and didn't find what I was after. Did I miss something or is there a fansite that has something like this? Thanks.

What exactly would be the use of such a list?
You can probably create yourself quite easily using this info (dev blog about map topology).

Edited by: Aliksr on 15/02/2005 19:36:02 do you want gateway systems, or nexuses (nexii?)?
(i.e. do you want yulai, or kemerek?)

Thanks. I'll check it out. The use, as I conceived it when I posted the question, was to have an easy way to identfy locations from which it might be easy to cross reference the prices of items across regional borders. If this sounds stupid, please remember that I said I was pretty new to trading.

I think the fact that I don't understand your question proves that I'm not smart enough to be a trader and ought to go back to running missions. What I was thinking was this: At some point you pass from one solarsystem to the next and, in doing so, move from Heimatar to Metropolis. I'm not sure with what I'm describing is a gateway or a nexus, but I was hoping it would help me find trade routes that are not immediately obvious from the market screen in a given region.
Thanks for giving my noob question some thought and I will check out the speadsheet you've suggested.

Hi Pachomius,
I think I see what you mean - systems that, journeywise, are side by side in different regions, so you can jump between and check market prices? Feel free to slap me if I'm wrong.
Not too sure if any list like that exists anywhere. There's a good map program you can download from EVE-I that might be of some use to you though, even if it means making up your own list. |

Most regions have a capital system, which are usually seperated by only a few jumps to other capital systems. For example, from Amarr in Domain, you can reach Tash-Murkon, Kor-Azor, Kador, Genesis, or Devoid in only two jumps. Once you find this central hub, its pretty easy to see where it leads and how to reach neighboring systems.

So, if you take Yulai as your starting point (Genesis region, you'd get:
Lustrevik (1 jump) - Heimatar Tourier (2 jumps) - Verge Vendor Deninard (3 jumps) - Essence Niyabainen (3j) - the Forge Kehour (4j) - Domain Tolle (4j) - Everyshore Tunttaras (4j) - Lonetrek Hek (4j) - Metropolis Auvergne (4j) - Sinq Laison Teonusude (5j) - Molden Heath Ahynada (5j) - Citadel Tanoo (6j) - Derelik Zororzih (6j) - Kador Orvolle (6j) - Placid Emrayur (6j) - Tash-Murkon Kor-Azor Prime (7j) - Kor-Azor Lisudeh (9j) - Devoid Palas (11j) - Khanid Kuomi (11j) - Bleak Lands
I think that covers most of empire. Can you tell that I've thought about this before?
To cover all of these areas would take well over a hundred jumps though...

these kind of lists can get to under 100 jumps if you just want to get into the region. If you want to dock somewhere, it's a different matter.
