Anyone know of a netbook that is good enough to run Eve? If there is more than one option, which is the best? -

Define "good enough to run EVE". Minimal graphics detail, minimal resolution, 30-ish FPS spinning in the station ? _

Once Incarna is released, most likely no.

I have an Alienware M11x and it runs it amazingly. I can fly in 500 man fleet fights with minimal lag.

The specs of that laptop SERIES can vary wildly. What exact model of video card does yours have (CPU model would be helpful too), what resolution/mode do you play EVE in, what graphics detail level do you have selected under the described conditions and how many clients do you run ? And last but not least, how much did you have to pay for it, and when was that ? _

If the netbook can do Shader Model 3, you can run EVE.

I brought a AGP Geforce 6600GT graphics card for my old HP Workstation of ebay for ú20. It is the lowest spec Geforce that can do shader model 3. I will use my games PC to do avatar creation as from what I have read it is practically impossible for a Geforce 6600GT. Also it will be very slow rendering the captains quarters. But so long as I can use the HP workstation at lowest details for mining it will be adequate.

Hm... well apparently my laptop runs the CQ between 110 FPS (low settings) to 45 fps (on max settings). After messing with the settings I found that the biggest performance hit came from when you turned shaders from low to high; everything else was negligible.
The really interesting thing about the CQ however; is I can barely tell the difference (graphically speaking) between low and high.

I am running EVE on GeForce 8400 with 128 MB of RAM that I got for 15 dollars of eBay. I am probably a little better off than you, but not by much.
