Sadly no, minerals climbed up a little but nothing like the good old days. At least trit is up to 3, but would be nice to see it at 4 again.

So really our only option is to invade 0.0 and destroy all their pos's? Then alliances would be forced to rely on the resources of others. And so would rise the 3rd great industry empire of eve... Or prices would stay about the same...

Volumes are significantly lower than 3 months ago. Prices have slowly declined at the same time. Far less isk being produced from the 0.0 anom nerf.
If it would have been only a bot purge mineral prices might have risen depending on how many of the ratters were bots.

Well I have spent a great deal of time investing knowledge in the bot war. So I have started to wonder how our world will change. As it stands since I am going into manufacturing having someone elses bot giving me cheap ore / minerals is a blessing. But all in all they are a plague across our vast universe we must purge with projectile shells and high frequency lasers!

MAYBE 24/7 mission ratting and selling the refined loot contibutes a certain amount of minerals to the market, but it's a seriously INsignificant amount compared to what comes in from actual mining and BOT mining, not ratting.
These 2 issues perpetually get confused.
After selling off my 'good' Lvl IV loot, what I refine gets stacked up, and at the end of a month, there MIGHT be enough to build a Cruiser or something, but that's it.
Do you people actually even mine for real, or just speculate on these forums what you IMAGINE goes on with the 'rat loot market'?
But to the OP question, considering the number of MINING BOTS eliminated the past few weeks, yes, I agree the mineral prices should have jumped.
Probably the 0.0 changes are causing a lot of stockpiles from down there to be dumped ATM.
That is a GUESS, not speculation procaimed as fact. **************************

Actually it used to be like half the minerals in game came from mission loot. I dont run missions or had any idea there was a mission nerf about a year ago(I was taking a break). Hah, I was actually looking up where the eve economist said that half the minerals in game came from refining.
Even with all that said though, the volume of minerals being traded, only the players with the biggest pockets can really have an effect of the prices.

Wow uhm you are doing it wrong.
go take a look at quad lif boosters. Low 551,013 high 591,010. Avg 551.013.25. AKA they are mainly buy orders vs sell orders. Wonder why?
Oh Refined mineral value 600k. Aka they are bought to be refined (as there is little to no market to selling them).
So 7000 move in jita alone a day.
That means 4.2b worth of minerals every day are generated from quad lif fuel boosters alone, and that doesn't account for people who mission run and simply refine them
Lets look at trit movement. Seems about 30b units moved a day, or roughly 100b on average a day. Iso sees about 25b. Mega 25b, mex 39b. nocx 55b, pye 25b, 24b zyd.
Rough numbers of course, that adds up to ~300b. We also don't know what amount are flipping.
So we have 1 item that accounts for ~1.5% of the mineral "value" at least daily.
That is 1 item.

The only way we will get pricing from the days of old is if we take Orca's back out of the picture, nerf Rorquals back to their original boosting levels, and take away the 0.0 grav site mechanics that were introduced in Dominion.
THAT is to say, the huge boosts that CCP has given to the mining industry over the past two years are going to continue reflecting in lower than "olden days" price levels, even without the Macro miners it would appear.

Regardless of it being a mining or mission bot, both arguments are valid for the mineral increase on the market. Though I'm not sure that any of the mission bots are salvage / looting wrecks? "please confirm". Also, seeing how events have played out in null sec sovereignty. Shouldn't the market bounce up more with people needing to build new ships, pos's, and Tech 1 replacement modules? That is of course if this red scare doesn't last.

Meta 4's are useful for invention.
If the price is right they are good to use.
price for research mats ~950k.
Chance for base success rate with a 3 in the needed skills, 46.14.
average cost until success 2.06m
Add that 500k meta 4, and now you have a 65.92 chance.
average cost until success. 2.204m.
Thus, a smart inventor would not use them for invention.
Also, go look at their price history. Mineral prices go up, so do they. Mineral prices go down so do they.
Quad lifs are bought to refine.

Back to OP. I indeed also thought min prices would rise more. Actually i started buying a LOT of minerals.
What i DID notice: less 'large' sellers offloading billions of trit and more small timers.
But as the price didn't change i and others perhaps have overestimated the impact of minerbotters on the vanilla mins.
But we do know that a lot of botters HAVE been been banned, so i can't seem to find another explanation other than that the majority of bots are used in 0.0 for 'personal' use.

The quarterly financial report, produced by CCP, disagrees with you. Suggestion: reading.
If you're too lazy, your answer is: Most minerals come from ratting bots out in the drone regions.

1) Mission loot and ratting loot are different beasts;
2) the last QUEN say nothing about where the mineral are produced. If you are going with older data [shrug]. The recent changes have made them fairly obsolete.
