Yea, at first this game was very fun for me. Logging onto a virtual space simulation with a bunch of players made the game very enjoyable. After around 6 months I have begun to slip further and further away from this game. I find myself logging on to train a skill, and logging off for 15 days to come back and train another skill. There really isn't much to do anymore for me, harvest minerals and run missions. Those are the only two things I can do. I hope CCP comes up with something ingenius because this game truely is boring. And no I'm not going to 0.0 space to get my ship blown up and cancel my account right after.

Boo hoo, shut the hell up and go play City of Heroes u whiny idiot. Nobody is making you play this game, and u have wasted precious time that I can never get back. I expect full reimbursement with interest. KTHXBYE Vin Diesel claims he has never hailed a taxi. He just runs up to them at stop lights, opens the door, shoves the current passenger over, and tells the cab driver what his new destination is. |

lol well you could enter 0.1 space and go kill some players ? or go kill some drone units ? flood the market with dog tags from blood raiders lol
CCP i think is currently focusin on warp, propulsion and ECm changes that they are talking about

You could go and play some attack runs on concord ships with insurance for a laugh. Spread weapons etc to outer systems that lack goods on the market for sale.

In a more helpful attempt then that other guy, try pvp, its what makes this game so fun. For a beginer too it who may still need money and a more well rounded experience, i suggest joining an alliance corp (FoE is a great choice). There you can do all the great 0.0 stuff and then the game is so much more fun. ---------------

how about cVc battles or fleet versus fleet battles (ie c - corps) give us something to really talk about - you could try market distorting practices as well ?
Dunno guess if you have been playing for a while though it could get boring

This game is about PvP. You might to try your hand at it . Goto 0.0 systems in a group or join another corp so they can help you in it.
This game would be **** if there wasnt 0.0 systems to pvp in. ~

Hey City of Heros rox dude lay off that ****.
An to the topic, I have 18mil skills points an been playing since 1 week from day 1, an what do you think I'm doing.... The same damn thing you think you are.
An been put through all hell from one of the former great alliances in this game, an I still play.
This game is fun, an don't blame it if you aren't doing so well there have been many times that I was not doing so well, but we all manage somehow, it definetly takes time, but in the end it's all for fun.

Sure,as me also being one of the vets playing since release of this game,I too see the balance of gameplay to favor towards the big alliances and corps for quiet awile now. However, remember that this game is still a proto-type,a constanly evolving one at that. I personally rather not be part of a big corp anyway, there's a special feeling being a skilled freelance mercenary in control of his/her destiny while roaming the heavens alone or in temporay packs in search for fun and adventure. Once that part of gameplay in eve dissapears,i'll be moving on to other things myself and no,no one will have my stuff cause I will delete all trace of my exhistance and let my char die a proud and silent death.

Edited by: Blind Man on 16/02/2005 04:17:05 0.0 Man. Nothing beats the rush of warping in with another 20 BS all at the same time and having a huge war. Try getting into a corp with 0.0 acess thats in a good alliance. Or so PvP - always fun.
EDIT: 0.0 is much safer than 0.1-0.4 IMO. Once you get past the choke points 0.0 is 75% of the time deserted. (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination. |

Maybe you should avoid mining. Mining is probably the main reason why people leave Eve, it's just picking the worst aspect of the game there is, period, to stick with and make up the bulk of your playing time. You can make more money in other, more creative and painful ways.

All of the peeps who advised you to start pvping are 100% correct. I found myself getting bored with Eve a few months ago, but after I started pvping (especially pirating, which is ftw) I'm having loads of fun. Eve is awesome. ----------------------------

Same as above. For over a year I played solo and was mainly a mission runner. I am also heavy into the RP scene of the game too as I find it interesting, not to mention that writing stories gives me something extra to do.
I joined FU2 because I heard they were a great corp in the fight against the likes of PIE and their allies and I never regretted it. The first day we all went to Amarr and tried to snag some PIE members. Sure we didn't see any action but everytime we got an order to move from the SS to jump someone at a gate I felt a rush.
Later I was around in my Claw and heard Sydious was in town so I thought I would just look for him to call in help. I ended up engaging him myself as soon as I saw him undocking as I arrived, interceptor vs interceptor.
Silly me I had just finished changing my setup to something else though and in the end I could not catch him as he was faster than me and out of range of my autocannons I replaced the Artillery with.
Give it a try though. It's still fun whatever the result. ------

Join an active corp and go with the flow, even if the flow brings you into 0.0 It really is not that dangerous, unless you fly indies through campes the entire time
This is not a hijack

Well...If you don't go to 0.0 and do some PvP/ High-end NPC hunting, I think you missed the whole game ^^ And 0.0 can be safer than many empire systems... (\_/) (O.o) (> <)=Oveur (proof) "Jumping 50 systems I can like, have sex 150 times during that period" |

Or it could just mean you need a break. I've just started playing again after a long break, and I am totally back to the feeling I had when I first started playing EVE
Some people swear to a game and stick with it no matter what, others need to do something different once in a while. I played some AO, SWG, EQ2 and now I am back to EVE

the other option is to set a long term skill in place and log out for a week do something else then come back to it later on
Or you could get out there in lone wolf mode and help out newbies with protection while they mine - blast NPC drones out of their way in gang mode - escort newbies on trade runs - do the blasting of everythin that moves ? minimum ISK however - pick up cheaper skill sets and drop them in at stations that dont have them for newbies looking around they can be helpful.
Pick a system and go around all the asteroids just blasting NPC drones - make sure a lot of newbies in the system - screw up the data mining of CCP lol if they find lots of drones getting smacked they might make changes on that element of the game

you the pve type or pvp type ? (i can guess tho) you in a good corp or some corp with just a fwe ppl active and not doing **** together (i can guess there as well) Do you go out to have fun or to make isk ? (hmm)
ask yourself what it is that is fun for you.
Is it seeing your uber officer gun you bought after running a gazzilion lvl 3 and 4 missions strike some npc ship for umpteen hundred wrecking ? Is it the adrenaline of pvp ? Is it the fun of social contact ? Is it the bickering of Eve politics ? Is it helping people out ? Is it cornering the market on something ? Is it beating the game by finding that one way to do stuff without going too far that does it better then the rest ?
think, decide, and move to where you can do that. _______________________________________________

You're burned out mate, that's all. If you're not a big pvp fan, than don't do it. While almost everyone on these forums seems to be a pvp nut who pushes everyone toward pvp, some players just don't get a kick out of pvp.
Fact is, it doesn't matter how good the game is (and Eve is a bloody good game), if you're playing it all the time or feel like you should be, you'll eventually get burned out. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the game, that's just the way people are. Just let your subs lapse for a couple of months, take some time off, maybe plat around with another MMOG for a while (my other half suggests CoH although I can't stand it myself) and come back when you're feeling refreshed.

Don't mean to be overly offensive,, but ur post was pretty stupid.
There is so much to do right in front of ur face and you arnt looking for it. U say you dont want to do into 0.0 and get killd and cancel ur account, well how about taking the rough with the smooth,,,
PvP without any kind of risk is boring tbh, the rush is that you are sitting on a 100 mil isk bs or ur in a fast frig doin high speed dogfights and such,,,
Get out and actually try the game b4 u resign urself to ur own carebearish rut or cancelation. __
There, i just contributed nothing to your thread
