I've seen the Incarna videos. Avatars looks like stones. They don't even move an arm, or a leg, of their neck as they were tired... they would suddenly have to have the need to lift up their hand as just watch to it for a seoond, sneeze..., scratch themselves...
Great job anyway, good starting.

Apparently we get "moods" instead of seperate gestures?! No idea what that will encompass ...

One of the old ideas (that might or might not have been scrapped) was that behaviour between characters would be based on standing. So looking angry/ignoring at people with -10 standing and all cheerful for people with +10.
But sure, if I can set the mood to horny, who am I to complain?

Well CCP originall idea was to let out avatars to react to the ppl around like looking proud/happy to corpmates and angry disgusted to enemies as Mashie points.
About the moods i think it will work like LotRo o Matrix online(i think sto have some short too) where you set a mood and your char act accordingly with new gestures and movements compared to other moods.
P.S: the actual Oh i wanna check if i scratched my nails!! brinks me on the nerve

They said orginally it would be a two tier system.
Emotes and moods.
You can wave hello but it's different based on your mood. maybe it was more work than they assumed?

Well... oficially male animations in Duality are beta and female animations are placeholders so there should be ample room to improve them. And I hope they fix the "tie her elbows to her back" issue, too.

I don't really like the idea of standings acting as mood setter. It'd feel too much the borg, the corporation ceo controlling his/hers puppets mood like a hive mastermind. Let us decide our own mood I say

Edited by: ivar R''dhak on 11/06/2011 13:33:18 Ack, standing based mood is a VERY stupid idea indeed.
Are we those supposed gods standing above the rest or fricken kindergarden kids/gang members?
Give us 5-10 different mood settings or so, that we can set ourselves and change on the fly in social settings.
BTW, I want Gollum¦s "my precious" mood for my fat male alt and Pippi Longstocking¦s "not giving a frack, skipping" for my female one.
______________ Mal-¦Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-`Big damn heroes, sir.` Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

presumably there's no point in adding the mood and emote animations yet when there's nobody else to interact with.
All we're getting this month is CQ, with only one character on screen ever. Why would you need the ability to wave, salute or hug when there's nobody else around?
Unless you're saluting yourself in the mirror, I guess. -

We can wave and dance in front of the mirror to practice? ;)
