no you can't have my stuff don't give 2 sh*ts how many versions of this thread there are, this is BS - if you look at the interviews even the interviewers are spam-asking why CCP is making an obviously bad decision
"let's release our game for the least popular modern console"
FPS on a console = stupid
3 accounts for years, boom headshot - not paying again.

So you're not playing Game 'A' because game 'B' is coming out on a console you don't have now?
Damb, that makes a lot of sense.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

I'm just as annoyed about it, but I can understand after reading up on "why".
Microsoft was unwilling to budge when it came to how CCP wanted to to implement dust in terms of networking it with Eve. Sony however was willing to work with them on it.

Plus it's been announced from DAY 1 that it was going to be a console only game... It boggles the mind.

I can't comprehend your logic. Exactly what about DUST coming out for the PS3 makes you not want to play EVE? Because it's on the PS3?
The amount of xbox and PC fanboys on these forums is horrendous.
And no, you're not going to quit, your probably going to take a few weeks off and then wind up playing again, you people are all the same.

Yeah, it's a shame there's not more mouse peripherals for the PS3 than anything else.
My apologies for your purchase of a 10 year old extreme box 360.

Yeah that particular detail was made clear since only a few days after announcing dust! I'm surprised that anybody wouldn't know that at this point.

Dust should have been PC, end of. CCP has 8 years of experience on PC games development.
This is supposed to be some kind of "revolutionary" and psuedo-persistent FPS world that links with the EVEverse. It makes absolutely no sense to put it on console. I know the reasons why they're going PS3 exclusive, because of Microsoft contracts greed, but it's still ridiculous. These consoles are not going to last forever. I'll give it 2, maybe 3 years.. maybe even next E3 that a new "generation" of consoles is announced.
What then?
PC is on-going, it is forever. Consoles are not, and it doesn't make sense to release such a groundbreaking title on a console that is extremely late in it's already outdated generation. It's not meant to last. They're going for a cash-grab.
It should have been PC. No excuse.

Edited by: Wilhelm Riley on 11/06/2011 19:59:20 Even if it's the least popular console (which I don't believe it is), they're still gaining a whole new audience and undoubtedly more players will move to EVE when they play Dust.

"BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I CAN'T PLAY DUST 514 ON MY COMPOOTER, MOMMY WON'T BUY ME A NEW PS3, WE SO MAD BECAUSE WE CAN'T PLAY VIDEOGAME".
I swear, some of you whine about dust 514 being a console exclusive like someone just repo'd your car....
(and some more akin to mommy taking away a 5 year-old's candy, but that's in some special cases... like the OP quitting eve because of dust....)

Because they wanted to make a console game and chose to build on their flagship title. Once again, they said from the very beginning that it was going to be a console title.
They've already stated when the next-gen console comes out they're going to update it and release for that title as well...

All these players saying they are cancelling accounts because they don't like Dust or the changes to Eve reminds me of a child having a fit because they can't have their favorite Lego.
If only the would follow through with their threat I would say we should have a lot more changes like this. Eve would be better off with them just gone. Darwinism in action I think.
Suggestions are one thing, but to say you are leaving because you're not getting your way.

No, I don't think so.
That's like saying people who play Call of Duty, will gateway straight into a game like Armed Assault 2. Nope. Not going to happen. Your average console shooter fan will be disinterested in EVE. They'll think the mechanics are interesting, and bring some superficial perks to their play, but they'll lose interest fast. Turn-around and throw-away rates for console FPS are equal to the lifespan of a house fly.

Exposing the idiocy of releasing on console. This problem wouldn't exist on PC. Why they don't decide to release on PC and port to PS3 is beyond me. When PS3 goes belly up and players have their exodus, they can still continue development on PC.
No excuse.

Because they wanted a console game and when you port, one of the two systems always ends up being garbage?
In addition, it's been proven over and over and over that console gamers don't have the same advantage of PC gamers because of the keyboard/mouse thing. They'd have to separate the two and that would open up a whole other can of worms.

It's really sad, in a way. You've got all these people who were playing an extreme box 360 in elementary school, and they have all their friends and things in there, and it's a part of their life, then progress shows up 9 years later and just chokes the life out of it.
Turns out everything is either a lie or a delusion, when it comes down to it. Nothing is real. Permanence is an illusion. What now?

They already opened a can of worms. It's destined to be a cash-grab (if they're lucky, which they probably won't be) with no future.
