hey so I got a man in this small corp all he can fly is a frigate now the corp thinks I'm a freaking billionaire however security is pretty tight I have however gotten role so I have my own tab to put stuff into in the corp hangar at the corp POS. Now can I somehow destroy the the corp hangar with my frigate while they are offline at night and take the contents? It's filled with BPO's oh and there arn't any weapon mods at the POS and it's in high sec. Any advice would be appreciated.

Edited by: Leyonal on 12/06/2011 11:40:47 Yes. You have to fly a ship near the corp hangar, and selfdestroy it.
However a corp hangar array has 20k Shields and 20k Armor and 10k structure. The damage your ship does to nearby structures, equals to its own hitspoint. So you best take some plated Battleships. Be shure to be in a radius of 2000m of the corp hangar.

Best bet is the higher tier battleships due to higher inital base hitpoints.
i suggest the hyperion myself, it seems to get about 20% more explosive damage to surroundings than say the rohk

If you can afford it, faction battleships are even better, thanks to having roughly double the Structure, Armor, and Shields. Be sure to load up the high slots with smartbombs, and your mids and lows with all the tank you can cram on. This will drastically improve your damage output.

But remember that a freighter may take out the whole POS.

Yeah, freighters are good for this kind of thing, but it's obviously a cost vs. reward thing. Make sure that the value of the BPO's is greater than the freighter, or it'll be an expensive mistake.

Dude, they're lying to try and trick you.
Armor plating does NOTHING to increase the explosive damage. It's basically just shrapnel, and not much of it compared to the bulk of a BS, so why would that affect damage?
You need shield extenders.

These guys are all morons OP. Do not listen to them. The only way out a corp hangar is deck out a BS with faction gear this adds 50% more DPS when you self destruct. Enough to take out a corp hangar and loot the conents.
Now some other people have been known to fit officer mods on a BC and if you self desctruct near the hangar or just outside the shields this will also take out the CHA. I guess CCP came up with the idea when they decided that if you lose a ship worth billions of isk you might as well try and take people out when going down,
Just don't listen to the rest of these noobs and ebst of luck.

Stop trolling. CCP nerved that a while ago, cause to much people complained about suiciding ships in force field. Faction gear does not anymore add 50%, its 25%. you better read the patchnotes more carefully.

Why not just hack the password to the pos guns and turn the guns on the hangar?
Saves you a ship that way.
Of course, if that doesn't work, then there's self-destruct... is it true that pods give a much larger blast for your mass than is expected? Considering new pods are free...

The pod's explosive damage depends on your implant set. I don't know much about their effects.

from my understanding. I though you had to Quit the corp while in the pos befor you self destruct or else it would not give the damage (becasue of some friendly fire game mechanic) . never tried it but i know a guys who did. can some one confirm this ?

yup i did this and it took out the ship maintenance array as well as the corp hangar array.... i got so much stuff from both pos modules. make sure u got a full slave set of implants in your clone when u self destruct. also the balgorn is by far the best faction bs to do it in.

I overloaded my highs and got an extra 10% explosive damage when I self destructed my Navy Raven... it was a beautiful site... lots of prints to be had... just do it!
