My corp has a Deimos BPO, and we're part of BIG's sales effort, and I'll tell you this.. we've had the BPO since October, and its not left the factory slot barring a few hours between factory runs.
We're producing 5 a week, more or less. Each ship takes 1.5 days.
Its not a question of component availabity, a few buy orders in strategic agent running locations takes care of that.
Its the BUILD TIME.

No seriously. You need to put that weed down.
Or give me a realistic, sensible, empirical example.

Edited by: bgjfj on 17/02/2005 09:53:13 Well it can kill a gankageddon/megathron/tempest at close range, if you've got neutron blasters on an enyo you can kill the heavier stuff too, except a raven of course.
edit: WTF, it keeps posting with my alt.

The problem is that although the number of bpos is increasing, and therefore the number of ships being produced is going up, the number of people training for them and now able to fly them is going up even faster.
I blame all the noobs flying assault frigs. They don't feel very leet anymore, so all the vets want something bigger and better to show off in.

I'm doing BYOC deals for Ishtars - check my bio in game for a list of components.
I have two in stock ... ready for trading instantly. Just get your components to Jel V Duvolle labs and it can be yours. -------------

Vagabond's and Muninn's are readily avilable on the market for 45-55m. It's just the percieved "elite" elite cruisers that are difficult to find. Demand out strips supply it's the way of the world.
You want the best you pay the most, that's the way it should be
WTB: Large faction smartbomb with good range. Top isk paid.

Originally by: Hellek markol, agents are still giving out BPOs for them. so there WILL be more manufacturers
I dont want it in the future. I want it now. I have jsut completed training for one, and it took a month. At this point the training I have done is worthless since I have no ship to use my skills towards. I dont want to have to sit on my ass for another 2 months waiting for my number to come up at the builder's.
And what happens when I lose one? Do I have to sit another 2 months waiting for a replacement?
Shoulda thought of that before skilling for one maybe? or tried to aquire the ship before skilling towards it. __________________________________________

Yup i agree with some previous posters, HAC's should be extremely rare not like a BS where every1 fly one. Hopefully by the time HAC's become readily available thell release the t2 BS's You can run, but you'd only die tired. |

Originally by: Trollkeeper I produce another HAC. It takes over 1000 units of T2 components to build the damned thing.
POS's were supposed to pickup and produce more T2 components, I havent seen that happening due to the rediculous requirements to run them. Serious coordination, time and effort is required just to run them, then you have to find someone to trade materials with to make some materials that can be made into components. This all takes alot of time and resources...
I put my print in a research slot to increase the ME to drop some of those T2 components, it takes close to 1 month to get it to ME4. It further takes 1.5 days to make 1 ship.
Is this a complaint - no, because it pushes prices up on these ships and rightfully so. Producers should make huge isk if the demand is there for them. And for those who dont want to pay, well sit and wait, prices may eventually come down (or put your name on one of the producers waiting lists to save a few million isk). 100 mill is not unreasonable to ask on a Deimos if the demand is there - clearly it is.
If producers have the print sitting idle, perhaps they should offer BYOM deals!
True to the Assault Sub-Class of ships, the Diemos can annihilate ships above its class (BSs). Its price should be on the same level as at least a tier 1 BS. Assault Frigs can OMFGPWN cruisers and some BSs . . . and their prices are slightly between the range of a Cruiser and a Battle Cruiser. HACs have a similar price range falling between the Tier 1 and Tier 2 BSs.

Just spend the extra millions and buy it. Thats what I did, imo the extra cash is worth waiting a month for the thing. ___
