That's fine, I guess, but why bother releasing what is effectively 1/4th of the experience on the 21st? You can't finish the Amarr/Gallente/Caldari versions, then release everything in one batch?
And it is a bit strange to dock in a pristine silver/blueish Caldari station and find yourself in a brown ****ty duct tape Minmatar style room.

Wasn't Incursion about releasing FINISHED content in smaller segments, so you'd get less bugs? (hi patch nr 6)
There's a big difference between distributing something smoothly to finish the content, or create entirely new content and THEN implement it.

How do you know it's finished ? Have you seen it working 100% with your own eyes directly in front of you ? No I did'nt think so, Things have changed since so changes would have had to be made, Testing to make sure no more bugs, As stated, The others will be released shortly after, Proberly within a week or so of each other as most of the work is done, It is only the Min one that has had all of the bugs ect ironed out there for it will be the first one, Perfectly logic to me. I'm pretty sure the CQ I tested on Singularity last week was Caldari. It was, as far as I could tell, fully functional (sans the actual station stuff, as we all know). All the video screens and ship related things were working.

So "Incarna" is in fact nothing but one Room, and not only one room but only 1 style of room at that.
I get it, we'll have to wait for increments but dayyyyum, Incarna as a whole wont arrive for a year+ -----------------

This may have something to do with people being worried that the update will be too large for many people to download in one go, so CCP has been looking at splitting it up.
Or not, who knows. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

From a development and business point of view it seems to make a lot of sense. CCP gets to test their (essentially) new game, its code and all of the millions of corner cases in a much more controlled environment. Secondly, it allows them to start the marketing hype for Incarna sooner.

Ermm... it's not 1/4th: they called expansion "incarna", last I checked, not "capitans quarters", and according to their wild dreams it'll be so much more when it'll get finished... as usual ;)
If that's the scale they've been releasing every expansion with, it explains alot. |

and because one they release this much they can make sure all of the usability and underlying code bugs that slipped thru the cracks on SiSi get fixed.
Once the system is very solid and stable from having the full player base of TQ pounding on it, they will be ready to plug new art assets in without much issue.

It's pretty trivial to see that all of the racial CQ content is in the SISI patch download. I's also pretty trivial to expect the same for the upcoming TQ patch, as it was for all such patches before. You just won't be allowed to use that content.

I'm calling bull**** on this one. It's one thing to not release the full incarna and all the station environments in the first release, but not releasing racial variants of the one small area is just bad and choosing to only release the worst looking racial CQ is a double fail. The correct Incursion style implementation would have been to delay until you have all 4 CQs ready for deployment.

If Incursion content was released this way you'd only get to re-create the minmatar chars, with all the rest of the races becoming 'blank'.
I'm afraid your ridiculous rationalizations just don't work. ... If you like choice please support this topic in the Assembly Hall. Thanks.

while that logic is sound I'm one of those "1 CQ is better then no CQ" guys hehe...it also probably doesn't help that I like Minmatar hehe.

ya, i guess it'd be closer to releasing something like just the new guns and the agent finder at first w/o CQ.
...and then maybe new nebulae
...adn then finally full CQ with all 4 races

Hopefully CCP will then have the resources necessary to finish things on time and without bugs.

I'm one of those "no CQ is better than any CQ" guys.
Any CQ = no new features for something that eats video cards, breaks multiboxing, and has immersion issues.
no CQ = we take advantage of the new UI performance upgrades and all is wonderful.
I still don't get the point of CQ... it's art style does not reflect the rest of EVE, the environment is sloppy, the rendering in general at the best of times looks like it was done by someone with a "for dummies" book and a community college degree. It will get buried under just as many windows as the current station hangar and no one will notice it most of the time, except for the gawd awful performance issues that CCP constantly flat out lies about and stupid people constantly quote as gospel. The controls are awkward and will frustrate new and old players. I could think of a dozen other reasons why CQ is lame and stupid and is being implemented in a gawd awful way. It all boils down to it being done by people that were hired to make a product without ever being asked in their interview "have you ever played EVE before, and have you ever made a professional video game before?"
And what good does it do? Um... It... um... it's... um... will sell more... um... I've got nothing.

was becoming obvious given the time left.
i don't care much about that however what i really care about is the name of the expansion ; naming that incarna, and putting ads everywhere saying it finally happen give me a big need to pod the whole marketing department.
