That's fine, I guess, but why bother releasing what is effectively 1/4th of the experience on the 21st? You can't finish the Amarr/Gallente/Caldari versions, then release everything in one batch?
And it is a bit strange to dock in a pristine silver/blueish Caldari station and find yourself in a brown ****ty duct tape Minmatar style room.
I have to admit, that is a mite weird. CQ is supposed to enhance our sense of immersion, not to have me dock in a Minmie station deep inside the heart of Caldari space.
The logical thing to do, when something is not ready yet to be released, is to not release it yet. I guess that made too much sense. --

Or not, who knows.
It's pretty trivial to see that all of the racial CQ content is in the SISI patch download. I's also pretty trivial to expect the same for the upcoming TQ patch, as it was for all such patches before. You just won't be allowed to use that content.
First, I'm not where I can check that.
Second, I'm just going by what the Dev's have said. That being that they were looking into splitting the deployment up to address peoples concerns about size. Obviously they haven't split it up for the test server, but they "might" for the actual deployment.

Even when all is said and done, when you dock in a Matari station in anyones space (Caldari, Amarr, whereever) you will see the Matari interior. The region you are in will have nothing to do with it.
Also, the EVE community has been asking CCP to split expansions up into smaller releases for some time now. Something more managable than the huge releases (and the accomplaning huge number of bugs that goes with that). ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

Due to CONCORD budget issues brought on by Sansha incursions and other issues, empires had to hire Minmatar contractors to meet their contractual deadlines, the Caldari are still haggling over final costs, the Amarrians want to make sure all details are according to scripture and require extensive Theology Council review, while the Gallente are 500% overbudget and the designers are throwing fits over constraints on the latest light fixtures from Mannar Prime.

Worst thing in it, actually, is that suddenly everyone is forced to get out of pod even if they simply docked to have that pod moved in another ship... but it's CCP and we'll have to climb ladder naked every time we thrown down on a cold metal balcony floor high above the bottom of the docking bay every time we dock - some immersion that is.
Originally by: Ranger 1 Also, the EVE community has been asking CCP to split expansions up into smaller releases for some time now. Something more managable than the huge releases (and the accomplaning huge number of bugs that goes with that).
Not exactly, mostly it was "don't release stuff untill it's ready" (one can hope) and "don't wait 'till next expansion/whatever with small fixes" (was mostly referring to rockets). And "releasing in smaller parts" was entirely CCP's idea: in incursion some stuff was ready and some in a rather sore state (enough to delay it... and it says something, considering "oversights" in dominion and tyrannis), hence descision to make several releases - one (more or less working) part at a time.
Not that releasing smaller stuff in smaller chunks doensn't have its benefits, ofc: appocrypha, for example, was unplayable for a week after deployment and another week of patches made it more or less stable (took half a year to make it work almost perfectly tho), but this case is indeed like one of early character creator builds on sisi where you couldn't create female avatars - imagine that rteleased on TQ with typical "we'll make it working later" (they've don it with tatoos tho, but only minmatar were affected and no minmatar was ever forced to have one anyway, despite backstory). |

Originally by: Merrik Talorra I'm pretty sure the CQ I tested on Singularity last week was Caldari. It was, as far as I could tell, fully functional (sans the actual station stuff, as we all know). All the video screens and ship related things were working.
nope everything on SiSi has been Minmatarr... couldn't you tell from all the rust? __________________________________________________

I shall take it as a personal insult to be forced to work out of a mouldy cave!
Velvet carpets, gold-thread tapestries and fine wines for the faithful thank you very much.
Hopefully they are keeping the opt-out feature or I might just take it out some random farmhand.

How do you know it's finished ? Have you seen it working 100% with your own eyes directly in front of you ?

Well this is a real kick in the b*lls. Why all the fanfare for Incarna if it's going to be one friggin' room for one race?
Considering this thing's glacial development pace will we actually see the other three racial styles before the end of the year?

Great. We're getting an expansion who's sole purpose is to boost immersion. But it breaks immersion by making pilots fully decant every time they dock no matter what the reason (LOL AMMO). It breaks immersion by sticking the pod at the bottom of a metal grate ramp in plain view. And it breaks immersion by suddenly switching interiors as you transition from hangar to CQ.
Hooray for an expansion that's counterproductive to its intended purpose :D
Disclaimer: I'm not actually one of those WiS hating curmudgeons. I'm actually looking forward to incarna in its full version as described by CCP on various occasions, but the release on the 21 sounds like it's going to be pretty weak. But hey, new maller model, right?

I can't get the problem here... They relese one CQ, they can bughunt for some time and soon we'll see the entire CQ thing, and maybe in some year or two the actual walking in stations ^^

Well, yeah, of course: when I dock in an Amarr/Minie station, I don't mind seeing their interior design. When I dock inside a Caldari station, though, I'd like to see a Caldari interior.

Hmm, I don't think this is what folks had in mind. I was thinking more along the line of CQ first (for all races); and then maybe later malls, common areas, etc. Releasing 1/4th of a first installment feels a bit off, though. --
