Hello all, in an attempt to stimulate a happy thread, lets all talk about our favorite cruisers and battleships :P
Cruiser: Maller - Love the resistance bonus, and the ability to shoot at 40km :) Blackbird - ECM is fun and the missle platform makes it even better
Battleship: Raven - Its just a fun behemoth to move around and just launch your big a$$ missles at Armageddon - I dunno why but that ship just feels so epic when you fly it haha

Cruiser: Navy Omen - They look pretty
Battlecruiser: Harbinger - 7 disco lights of uber death and can be tanked quite heavily.
Battleship: Abaddon - 8 disco lights of super-uber death with an even bigger tank. Megathron - I just love their model, and their name.

Cruisers - Arbitrator - Sexy lines and bonuses outside the usual Amarr mould. Thorax - Thorax was the first cruiser I ever sat in way back in the day, many fond memories of melting faces with it :)
Battleships - Megathron - I remember when blasters were cool. Also looks like a pair of flares :) Armageddon - What's not to like? ---------- Who, me? |

Cruiser Gila - its the Warthog of Eve, pretty quick, decent missiles and lots, and lots, and lots of drones
Battleship Rattler - Did I note lots of drones.... and an unparalled tank. SNI - yea I am a sucker for the Scorpion hull - one of the best looking ships in Eve, good tank and decent DPS (yea I know its no RNI)

Cruiser: Moa. Cheap and somewhat hardy blaster boat that everyone ignores in fights and can put out just under 500 DPS (and when ur burning ur highslots like u should over 550 DPS). No1 ever suspects the Moa to melt their ships and youll have some great fun with them without burning a hole in ur pocket too bad. Id like to see the Eagle make its price tag worth it and maybe someday ill upgrade, however I put out similar DPS with a bit less tank with a ship 1/20th its price.
Battleship: Scorpion. Get a friend who flys a scorp and you can spider rep and cap as you jam for the fleet somewhat decently with a decent armor tank. Sometimes it is fun always being the primary. Caldari BS V should be a prereq for flying this ship though.

Cruiser : Caracal (aml) and Stabber (weak but nasty)
Battleships : Scorpion (looks + only useful caldari BS in fleet)and Typhoon (imprevisible, quite fast, quite ugly, very matar).

BC/ Absolution (Because its full of **** and vinegar and ready to **** on anybody)
Cruiser/ Lazer buffer Legion(Same concept as absolution plus low sig radius=last a lot longer and bs ehp 196 with slaves and even more with bonuses.)
BS/ Abbadon (Good blen of tank and Gank)
*Keep in mind my preferences are more for armor gangs with logistics and may be a bit pricey. But hey The guys I roll with have the same mentality as me. Always fly the best ****.

Looks like my favorite cruiser is the Rook (eve-kill.net deleted old KM recently so stats are skewed towards recent history). I won't argue with that. I use the He-Man fit. DPS and ECM, no tank.
Stabber Fleet if you only want to count T1.
Armageddon is the favorite BS by kill count recently, though I do love the Tempest and Typhoon.

Bellicose For T1 cruiser prices you get over 2 klicks speed, enough tank to tackle something and enough gank to kill T2 frigates.

Cruisers
T1 Vexor - Love dem drones. Can also field a nifty "little" tank for a cruiser. Frigs are very cautious around you. Arbitrator - Also a drone ship and can also field a nifty "little" tank for its size. Can be fitted to be quite effective against ships larger than it (tracking disruptor).
T2 Ishtar - Drones, drones and more drones (beginning to see a trend here?) along with "slightly" flexible options regarding tank. Bit gimped with fitting though. Sacrilege - Up close and personal monster of a cruiser. Want a 1v1 (or 1v2) ship that has endurance to do the job and do it right? This is it.
Faction Vexor Navy Issue - Droneboat with Thorax style gank. Aside from the [slightly] gimped CPU/powergrid what's not to love? Ashummu - Make active tank ships cry and frigate pilots' blood freeze. A brawler that nukes your cap and doesn't let go until someone is dead.
Battleships
T1 Dominix - One of the most flexible drone boats around. Want gank? Fit with blasters. Want RR? Pack the high slots with remote reps. Want to make frigates, cruisers, and capital ships stay away from you or call for back-up? Fill the high slots with neuts. Hyperion - Can pull off a wicked double or triple rep armor tank or put out absurd DPS numbers in a shield gank fitting. Looks smexy too. Abaddon - No one primaries you until everyone else is gone. Puts out very good DPS at many different ranges.
Faction Rattlesnake - A droneboat with a MASSIVE tank. Slowly chew apart your enemies while you laugh at them. Bhaalgorn - The gross lovechild of the Rapier and Curse on steroids and then some. It's the only subcapital ship other than HICs that a supercarrier will take seriously. _______________________

Cruisers: Rupture Vexor.
Both are great and cheap and will take down vagabonds in the right hands. The arbitrator is not that useful in 0.0 due to it's low dps, but it can fill a niche role in a gang.
Battlecruisers: Hurricane Myrmidon
The hurricane is a fantastic gang ship and highly suited to 0.0 with it's high dps and speed. The myrmidon is likewise viable and it can be fit with a really powerful local tank for a ship in it's price range. However I am starting to like the drake more and more so who knows, it might replace the myrm one day.
Battleship: Dominix Machariel
The dominix is highly versatile and user friendly, sadly it's not a good fleet vessel. The machariel puts just about any ship in it's class to absolute shame.

Well I for one would pick the following:
Cruiser: Vexor. Was the first Cruiser I ever owned and did me very well, I loved how I could fit it in tons of different ways, I even had a passive shield tanked Navy Vexor for mission running when I was little!
Battleship: Paladin. Well this is my favorite Battleship and to be honest I never liked using Battleships in the past but after getting ganked in a mission running Tengu I decided that I would take the plunge and trained up for a Marauder. I have to say I love the little blighter, T2 fit and I can do every lvl 4 mission there is. Decent DPS, great tank, and a great bonus for Tractor Beams - and great fun to fly.
Fly safe all, no matter what ship you love. ***************************************** Be a Drifter in a Rifter. |

cruiser; Onyx. I love my ruppies, vexors are teh sexor, and so on. But the onyx has the fabled drake tank, and most importantly can close my static with a mere 1 in 138,000 chance of getting locked out.
BS; Republic fleet Typhoon. It is the swiss army knife of eve. Pound for pound it is the shiznit. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Yeah, I have to agree those are both excellent choices. I really like your reasoning behind the Onyx. Also, consider BOBS because they have such ridiculous mass. -- Eve Forum ***** Extraordinaire On Twitter

If I'm in a cruiser, It's generally a Recon.
Rapier, Arazu.
If I'm in a BC It's generally a Cane, but I like:
Cane, Drake, Brutix.
I like ALL the BS's , and I know what they can do. I generally stick to 3 hulls though.
Typhoon, Tempest, Geddon.

With a HIC, though, you can change the mass by turning on the warp disruption field.
For me in my WH-collapse-fit broadsword, it would work something like this - Turn on 5 Warp Disruption Field Generators, mass drops to 4,000 KG, frig-size. Jump out of WH. Make sure WDFGs are off, then turn on 100MN MWD, mass shoots up to 64,820,000 KG. Jump back in, enjoy quick collapsing.

64M KG < 200M KG. A fleet of BOBS can really **** up a WH quick, with the final part being done with the HIC.

Oh yeah, no doubt, I agree with you there. I thought you meant BOBs for closing it at critical, and I was a bit thrown off.
