Edited by: Johnny Guns on 17/06/2011 19:24:52 Hello CCP,
My Proposal: i want to play eve, but i do not want/need to skill up any more characters. i would like to play eve with skilling disabled, and in return i pay a significantly reduced monthly subscription fee. say somewhere around 3 dollars (USD).
My reason for desiring this is that my characters are finished(they do all i want them to ever do). AND eve is often boring and hard to justify 15 a month.
you may say, skill one guy to sell. well in my case the option to skill one guy to sell is not there because i have 3 slots filled.
i am sure this non-skilling subscription option would bring back alot of old timers, and increase CCPs subscription income.
thanks for listening (i am not sure if this was proposed before. it probably has but a search did not turn anything up...)
edit: typo

no offense, but iirc you are paying ccp for content they are bringing into eve, not skilling time needed for one of your characters... o/c skilling is one of the major aspects in eve online, but even without it (in your case) you are open to all the content in eve... with or without skilling a character
why dont you start another alt? i believe they are plenty good reasons to have one more :P
PS: in my eyes, this would decrease ccp's income in general , so they wouldnt do it

the reduced subscription fee that you would be paying is for the price of the content. the question becomes what is the monetary value of skilling, on a monthly basis?
i am sure there are guys who do not want to skill a character anymore, and would come back to the game if there was a reduced rate... so I do not agree that it would reduce ccp's income.

A: Nothing, glad I could answer that.
The value is in multiboxing because each account you have consumes bandwidth and server resources (ram/cpu), and thus real world money. Offering a reduced rate for non skilling accounts would promote multiboxing while making CCP less money for it.

Skill Points have a relation to ISK through the sale of characters(the more the SP the greater the value), and ISK has a relation to real cash through the sale of plex; so there is some relation there between skilling and monetary value.

The problem here that you're not thinking about is that you don't pay 15 dollars a month because you can train a character.. You pay 15 a month to play a game that allows you to train a character.
This being an mmo, you decide how you want to play the game. Eve is better at letting you decide what you want to do over any other game. If you decide that you don't want to train your characters any further, that is your option.
Saying that you shouldn't have to pay as much because you don't use the training option is like me saying i shouldn't have to pay as much because I don't pvp, or that I shouldn't have to pay as much because I have only trained for gallente and caldari ships.
Again, this being a pretty versatile mmo, you get to decide how you want to play the game, and just because you have decided not to use the game to it's full aspect doesn't mean you should have to pay less than the thousands of others who have done the same thing, but for a different aspect.

Merge your toons in the same account. Active account = $$
Who you think you are to have an active account and pay less than me? heh?

Here is a man who thinks that being able to wait for obscene amounts of time to gain the ability to click something you couldn't click before, or to click something onto something else you couldn't before, is worth twelve dollars.
Or alternatively,
Here is a man who thinks that all of EVE's immersion and experience is worth only three dollars.
Either way, I feel like you're in the wrong game, mate. -

regardless of the negative responses (from ccp fanboy monocle buying types?), i still think this is a great idea, and would increase CCP revenue. we have seen CCP is all about revenue. this idea will bring back to life long dead accounts, and hence more subjects who might buy from the MT store.
some people quit skilling and therefore sub'ing partially because of the cost to just keep the POD insured every time you die in a bubble. when you get near 100mill SP your character is basically done. a smaller fee would make sense if skilling is disabled, and entice players to return.
with all the talk about selling SP in the MT market for real cash, it is clear that raw SP has a monetary value, and therefore offering an account with no skilling option for a lesser fee just makes sense.

Edited by: Levi Crawford on 08/07/2011 16:02:16 If eve absolutely filled the Nex with actually cool (vanity and convenience) stuff, then said, all accounts - after game purchase - get 60 days of skilling (say, 3 mil sp probably on average) but cost nothing to continue non-skilling, eve might explode and CCP would make millions and millions.
This would be the free-to-play MT eve, but with an obviously huge incentive to pay subscription fees (because 3 mil sp won't feel cool for long). To say nothing of MTs.
Or CCP might crash and burn and bankrupt itself. One of these anyways. And I am seriously not sure which. |

12 Months fee is $10.95 a month
i would suggest CCP offer a month by month payment of $10.95 with skilling disabled. matching the yearly payment but on a month to month basis....
seems fair to me.

Edited by: Nezumiiro Noneko on 23/08/2011 00:25:27 if your char is done....it should be able to plex itself.
If not monthly...every other month (mainly miners lol).
2 months of game time...only one hits the CC. Means you pay $7.50 a month basically. On this plan myself tbh...rl and such and don't want to liquidate assets I have.
Not motivated to play the bare minimum to get say 400 mil in 2 months, why keep the sub? Especially if not training (why I stay mildly active....keeps the training going).
Not a gtfo troll comment....don't dig the game that much, leaving a wiser choice. $15 is $15, something else catches your fancy that is a better use of that $15, have at it. Way mmo's work...ride the train till it ain't fun, find a new train after that.
