Edited by: Ardal Cearul on 18/06/2011 01:39:12 I would like to see launched scan probes have the ability to be saved in presets based on the amount of currently deployed probes and type. The presets would look something like this. These would of course be personally set, like drone configurations. ___________________________ Sisters Core Probes -2 -Line -3 -Triangle -4 -Square -5 -Pyramid
Combat Scanner Probes -2 -Line -3 -Triangle -4 -Square ___________________________
I would also like to see an option to bring all probes the the same level.

I guess after having used the original scanning system it never occured to me someone would want to take scanning a step closer to wow mining. Really you should have to try it the old way lol.
Still while we're at it, we could remove all the probes and let the computer do all the work based on your skills.
I like the complexity of the system really; manually setting up your scanning array is part of that.

Yes, this is a good idea. it does not discriminate against people but allows people to CHOOSE to use it UNLESS ccp takes it upon theirself to make everyone use it, like they did with the mouse and keyboard shortcuts.

Would also like to add a conditional for set range.
For example, if all of the probes were set at 1.00 AU, then it might look something like this.
___________________________ Sisters Core Probes
Range: 1.00 AU -2 -Line -3 -Triangle -4 -Square -5 -Pyramid Range: 4.00 AU -2 -Line -3 -L Shape -4 -Pyramid 4 -5 -Pyramid ____________________________

Most people tend to use the same scan configuration while scanning. My proposal would only speed things up, not make it easier.

As someone who has sent time probing, being able to establish and maintain my perfected probe configuration automatically, especially in a system with a dozen signatures to track down would be very helpful.
Just let up set up the configuration and then save it. We can them launch our probes and select the configuration we want. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

Bumping as this is more relevant with the Incarna Change.
"All probes can now contribute to a scan result, as opposed to the previous limit of four."

If you allow me to contribute... The file containing the formations could be saved and exported/imported from/into the game, just like the overview settings.
An export system like the overview would be great.

They already added the feature that lets you scale your probes by using Alt. Setting them up in a basic formation is not that hard to do. If they make it any easier, they might as well just have your places folders auto-populate with locations as soon as you warp into the system.

Once again, this does not make scanning easier, it makes it faster. Manual adjustments would still have to be made to get most sites.
