Thank you, CCP mission team. This mission was pretty darned fun! This mission wasn't the usual "warp in, target stuff, mindlessly press F1, hand in mission" type. The story telling made great use of the existing mission mechanics, and I enjoyed being able to experience something new :)
Of course, I've watched (and being the sensitive little child I am, had nightmares about) Event Horizon. I'm told there's a popular game based on this story too.

I got the same feeling about it being like Event Horizon when I ran this mission. Iwould like to see more missions along these lines.

Only problem I have with missions like these is that they use unique events and people as a infinitely repeated mission.
But that's a general gripe I have about missions. How often have you killed Zor or Kruul? Or any other unique individual. --------

I agree.
This is one mission that stood out though, I was happy to do it a second time, and bored the third, forth and fifth. I wish there was at least some variables that change, parts of it are random, but no, it's pretty much the same every time.

I f*ing hate this mission.
I decline it every time I get it and if I can't safely decline I just log off, you should be able to thumbs down some missions from the eligible list of missions an agent can give you.
Sometimes it's just inconvenient and grinding isn't fun or skillful at all.

I had this chain 3 times in a day! Ok at first it was good but frankly there is either a bug or CCP are spamming this mission. But if this is default its stupid it means that ive had a one in 4 chance of getting this mission.

The Anomaly was only good when all of the drones were the faction Strain drones...there was about 300m in salvage throughout the course of the mission. Good times.
Pity I petitioned it as a dev mistake as soon as I'd completed it! -----------------------------------------------

It was a prety fun mission, and a welcome change to the usual boring stuff.
I hope CCP continues to make more innovative missions like this. --

Definitely more interesting than the average mission.
But as was said above, only really the first time.
Gets me thinking though. With the way 95% of players basically run missions as income-generating exercises, why do we have such static missions based around a silly story that we do exactly the same way over and over and over again?
Dump the stories. I'd like to see combat missions work like this:
Pull combat mission from agent, get informed that x enemy pirate/faction has been identified at location y. Go kill them.
Get to location y, and instead of pre-scripted spawns with pre-set triggers, you find a completely random distribution of frigates, cruisers, battlecruisers, and battleships, with a random smattering of gun towers, web towers, neut towers, etc. Every ship you kill has a very low but non-zero chance of triggering additional random spawns.
Every mission is different because every mission is truly random. You can't AFK them because you never know if you'll be unlucky and get overwhelmed. You're killing unnamed NPCs so there's no immersion-breaking repeats of killing the same people over and over, rescuing the same damsel, etc etc.
How is that not better than the current system that frankly is based on the same old tired repeatable quest model?

Added benefit:
The devs that design missions can turn their attention instead to the more exciting Cosmos missions that you only do once or every 6 months. Fits better, and allows their talents to be used more appropriately, creating more immersive stories.

As long as we get to know who the rats are (read: know what to tank for), I'm all okay with more randomness in missions. As long as they're not 'Sansha Incursion' style undoable for a solo player, of course. --
