Okay, Hi Sec Dust is mission Dust. Low Sec Dust is empty Dust. Null Sec Dust is Sov Dust.
What is W-Space Dust? There aren't any missions, nor sovereignty... so what role will DUST 514 have for W-Space?

i would also like to know the answer to this question. I am not sure how it would work but i would like it to. Sleepers planet side? Maybe a battle just to hold facilities on the planets, and not so much who controls them.

They said no DUST in w-space. --- I don't know! I don't know why I did it, I don't know why I enjoyed it, and I don't know why I'll do it again! Bart Simpson. |

I have plenty of ideas of how this should be implemented but quite honestly it is a huge can of worms for them to do so. In the first implementation of Dust I think they need to focus on getting it right. The first true expansion should focus on emerging Ground to Space warfare that the trailers play up. Then I'd tackle W-Space, because to keep it consistant you really need to involve 3 way fights between duster factions and sleepers, create sleeper based art assets and t3-like planetary installation and vehicle assets and figure out how you are going to get the dusters there that doesn't involve magic hand waving (holding).

Soething which could be good to implement in Dust Wormhole space or not is 24/7 conflict ..
Like Modikus says, battle just to keep control of the planet, people who run a big enough Alliance should see if they could keep a 24/7 planet battle going.

Now this is a cool idea. Hired by Capsuleers to go and beat down an invasion of giant robots, and maybe find information on the lost civilizations. For that matter, why should Dust be limited to certain things, when it could involve exploration and finding the lost remnants of ancient civilizations. Maybe even find actual ground facilities full of sleepers and various other denizens.

Sounds like the pve expansion for dust. And it sounds cool. 24/7 battle plantes sound cool as well. Why a forum in the year 2011 still has no automatic double post merge which can be done even with javascript mostly is beyond my understanding. |

It has been mentioned in one of the chat sections between the matches in the tourne... the dev was chatting about high sec, low sec and nul getting their "variants" of dust, something like high sec dust being an easy(ier?) entry ffa, nul sec dust being for more dedicated mercs who have invested in barges, advanced kit and linked up with space corps/alliances but they gave little detail. When one of the panel asked about wspace dust, the dev danced saying "not to start with".
Seeing as wspace ops rely heavily on their PI it would be great to get ground troops in there. Would be good from a trust between ground/orbit if the grunts on the ground need to be led through wh's to their target... but again, there's been no detail on how the ground troops barges will move or interact with space players. It might just be something too complicated for the first iteration.
They've laboured the "aggressive expansion" idea and that more detail is coming when they have nailed things down... lots of uncomfortable "can't go into that at the moment" moments when they get pushed... so who knows. "Up and up, how far can we go? and how far must we fall to get there?"

I asked that question a bit ago and got a response from CCP that there would be no dust in the holes, which makes perfect sense. For example, it seems they can move planet to planet without fear of being shot down by Eve players... how would that work getting into a wormhole system? Would they magically appear? Would they pass through a hole? If so, doesn't it make sense for people guarding their systems by camping their holes to be able to defend against this invasion as well? Can they be completely shut off by collapsing holes, or prevented from entering by the same technique?
Trying to validate Dust in wormholes would require so many leaps of logic and breaking of known mechanics that it's simply best not bothered with.

So now the only question is WHEN?
SoonÖ of course. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Well, that is a problem. Well, perhaps, unless W-Dust required a Stargate« on the planet?

I could see that happening. But all the Supercap Tree Friends will be whining about losing that advantage.
