About 9 months ago CCP Yokai wrote a dev blog on a new population record in Jita. This record was set during a special event we held to test new hardware and software; a total of 2,023 pilots at the same time in Jita.
Since this was a special event then we knew that it would take some time for the "organic" growth of the Jita population to catch up to these levels; regular population was approx. 1,500 pilots on Sunday evenings at the time.
Fast forward nine months and a lot of things have happened. Jita population has gone up and the software has improved:
Tonight, Sunday 19 June 2011 at 20:00 GMT, Jita reached the highest official player count in EVE's long history at 2,079 players in a single solar system.
Whereas the Jita node was hot at 100% CPU when the old record was set in September 2010 then it was now at approx. 60-65% CPU when this new record was set tonight. A lot of things contributed to this result; most significant was probably the setification of the inventory system in Incursion 1.3 but then there have also been a number of improvements from Team Gridlock (here's their latest success story) and then some new and exciting things we have yet to blog about.

Congrats.
Question: Given Jita's special place in the EVE universe and it's booming population, does CCP plan on changing Jitas's appearance?
What I mean is the stations themselves are not unique and quite frankly are hideous to look at when 100+ people are undocking at the same time. It's like stepping over homeless people as you walk out your front door...and you always walk into a fight.
A station re-make with larger stations and multiple exit points would be nice. If you are going to have a crowded "city appearance" may as well make it look organized instead of a free-for-all.

My my how times have changed, I remember seeing ~2k online total systemwide a few years back lol back when you could fly for days and not see anyone, it was uphill both ways too, and you still had enough change for a fish supper on the way home, and nobody stole your bike when you left it outside, and everybody knew your name, and the grass was sooo much greener over there... |

Let's see:
The hamsters work 23.5 hours a day for seven days (barring unforeseen events that cause the hamsters to stop). That would mean:
1. The poor hamsters get only 3.5 hours of break time every week or 182 hours of break time every year.
2. You are needlessly abusing the hamsters by overworking them with 164.5-hour-a-week work schedules, which totals 8554 hours a year.
What the hell are you doing to those poor hamsters?

The hamsters switch shifts during down time... The jita hamster gets to chill out in wormhole space the next day...
Once though... The Jita hamster was given what was thought would be an easy shift for the following day up in LXQ2...
He died... Gracefully... -------

They're robotic. So, unless they decide to rebel one day, everything should be peachy.

They have to get people thinking about something else since if you take a look at the trend from eve-offline.net, then (yes it's summer, less people playing) Eve really IS dying, albeit slowly. For the first time in a long, long (at least in the 4,5 years I've played) the "players online" is ranging downwards (even after accounting the slower than usual summer time).

Not sure if you are reading those statistic Graphics correctly, they trend from right to left (right side being when EVE started). -
