Could you transcribe what you said on camera about Monetezation of api and ip and the scorpion models into a dev blog.
WORD FOR WORD.
For the past few weeks there has been a huge hate storm, but with what you said on camera, with you know a good explanation, people might become less hateful.
Also, have an open forum on these issues with us. I mean seriously.
When the dev staff is open with us and asks us our opinions in a proper manner we respond with less rage and offer good ideas. I am sure we can come to a proper understanding and a full arrangement on these issues. |

He made little sense actually. He said that the blog was in many points excellent. That alone is kind of ludicrous considering the fact the blog had to be changed/amended several times and that by his own account the players calling bull**** was absolutely justified.
The "token" discussion was also very strange. He said it should be a token amount and then followed up by saying that 99$ is obviously not a token amount.
At no point did he explain how all this was in the blog if it apparently wasn't what they were trying to do.
I assumed that this all was some kind of internal miscommunication thing (which happens obviously) but this looked like Zulu himself doesn't even know wtf happened.

They way i understood the 99 dollars was a token amount decided by lawyers to prove a transaction occured, however that amount could be changed.
But they idea of charging was, to prevent people hammering the api and log server regularly just to hammer it. As he said like 5000 api calls in 10 minutes.
But im sure if we all sat down in an open forum and worked this out as a community we could get it sorted.

I'm fairly sure he was talking about the CONTRACT saying not to do stupid things like hammer the api server, rather than the natural weeding out of people who'd write those apps via a fee.

What he essentially said was "what we previously said got us lynched so we'll forget about that one and uhm... come back to it later".

OpenSRS domain registrars: $95 one-time buys me access to the system and pays for them to set me up. From here I can create sub-accounts for other domain resellers who then get their own whois info etc.
EveOnline API: $99/year....
OpenSRS kinda has a lot more real business worries and security concerns then CCP so if they can do it with a one-time fee, so can CCP.
