Edited by: Riveting Tale Sibling on 20/06/2011 00:46:40 Thank you for the single biggest moment of the tournament. This match WILL be remembered fondly - as opposed to that farce called a final!
See you next year!
Edit: too many beers..

darkside was good, bringing the same setup 3 times = balls of steel ^^. the final was epic too. ****ing off 30.000 people = balls of steel too ^^

Definately well played tournament. Darkside grew on me a lot as the tourney went by. Hope to see both teams next year.

As I said in the commentary -- this might as well have been the final match, without of course taking anything away from the epic feat pulled off by hydra/ob to place 2 teams in the finals.
Both teams had interesting setups, played it well and provided us with a lot of on-screen enjoyment

exactly thats the point, it was a lot of enjoyment for me to watch all the tournament days and it was hilarious to watch the final, i'm a rather new eve player as well and this is something different, you will never get something like this final in every other mmo (at least not to my knowledge ;)
and great commentators!
i learned a lot about fittings, pvp, etc.
absolutely looking forward to the next year.

I have to give Darkside a lot of credit. I can usually predict what people will bring pretty well, and contrary to popular belief it's not all metagaming. There was nothing in Darkside's history which gave me any indication they'd try a setup like that.
On top of that, the setup they brought still could have lost if it was not for excellent piloting. They executed perfectly. Hats of to you guys for a good fight.
The irony is of course that the Amarr rush setup is actually one of the weakest all around setups in the collection of 'good' setups. It just happened to be the Achilles heel of our setup which smashed every other conventional setup in testing.

Thanks Darkside (yes even you Faffywaffy ) you won me a load of iskies and were every entertaining throughout.
PL just weren't at the races this tourney, didn't look at all like the normal tourney PL. A loss will do them good and they'll come back more determined.
Assuming of course we see another tourney after "that final"

This.
I would just like to thank Darkside, for dominating us, wouldn't of wanted to lose to any other team(mostly because of the amount of :smug: that would of happened and most likely the internet would explode). Gutted we lost out on 1 trillion worth of iskies but meh, ill have to wait to get a titan when we win next year. :)

Fixed that for you, the tournament itself had good matches, but it was a lousy tournament.

Soundwave and the commentators were great this year and there was some awesome matches like Raivi said i think people dont't relize how much work Hydra and outbreak put into the tournement to be able get two teams in the final.
Why i love EVE obviously this year Hydra spys best spys |

The tournament was not well played by certain people in the groups and then the final was a farce.
The Darkside vs PL match was good though.
Hopefully people will remember the sham this tournament ended in and not waste their isk and time next year. That's really the only way CCP will change things so as not to give such great advantage to those that metagame over those that don't.

Watching/Hearing you have a near heart attack when PL lost was enough enjoyment for me. But tbh i think you did a good job on the commentary team. Was nice to hear your opinions on different set ups/tactics etc. +1 Shadoo ----------------------------------------

Yep, awesome match, great piloting on both teams.
My shock at seeing PL lose was almost eclipsed by how excited Shadoo was by this outcome. Unfortunately, the youtube video isn't up yet, or I would transcribe the moment of eve history when this match was decided.
