I followed the standard test server setup procedure - copy my EVE folder, rename it, create the shortcut, change the target line, patch it etc. - and when i load up the client i get the following message in the status bar:
unable to connect to 87.237.38.50 on port 26000
I've had the same problem for 4 days now, but can't find a solution to it. I know it's nothing simple like the server being down, because i still get the message when i know my friends are on SiSi.
Any ideas?

Check your firewall, even if you think you already did; do it again :P

Hmm, how would i be able to unblock the server address without just turning off my firewall?

Depending on what firewall you're using, you should be able to (through some interface) browse to the sisi folder, find eve.exe, and tell your firewall to allow that specific file. Most firewalls will also prompt you on first launch whether or not you want to allow it internet access, did you never get a message like that?

I did, but only for the first time i started up tranquility.
I think i've found it on my firewall rules list. It seems to be blocking "ExeFile.exe" on ports 80 and 26000. I set it to allow and when i loaded up Singularity again after that my firewall asked me if i wanted to allow or block it.
Seems to have done the trick as it's now saying incompatible and asking me to patch it!
Thanks bud, much appreciated!

I spoke too soon i suppose. My firewall seems to have Alzheimer's - when the EVE update setup program wants to run the patch download, it keeps asking if i want to allow it or block it. I keep saying allow and check "trust program" and "create rule" but it doesn't seem to do it. It keeps failing the patch download instantly and next time i load up the client it does it again.
On top of that, when i load up the client i can still see that it say "unable to connect to" etc. and it even did that when i disabled my firewall to finally get the update going.

Edited by: Xynthiar on 20/06/2011 17:17:20 Edited by: Xynthiar on 20/06/2011 17:17:05 I'm glad to hear it helped, if only for a few minutes :P
Sisi has been having a couple of restarts today, and is as of writing down. Check http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php to see server status.
Also, every time you patch, you ARE going to have to re-allow your eve client, sorry :(
EDIT: You should try to download the patch manually (check the link, it has all builds), and do the same thing with the patch you did with sisi.

No worries mate, it does work now without issues, just that i have to keep allowing it through the firewall.
