Some of us may have mistaken Eve Forums as a place where you can get heard. Sorry, you got it wrong: No-one cares.
The main sponsor's feedback page or the other main sponsor's feedback email are correct addresses for telling what you feel about their sponsored event.

It is CCP's fault they did not do what is required in this circumstance. Not give any prizes to winners, and redo final Darkside vs Razor. DQ hydra/outbreak.

It may not be CCP's direct fault but they did contribute to it, meta gaming was part of alliance torny for a long time and every time it happens CCP did nothing, and in fact, it even seems they encourage this behavior, as they put it, this is part of the sandbox gameplay. While at the same time the game developers are getting directly involved in the alliance torny process such as setting the fighting rules, control the fighting environment(arena boundary) etc... Basically there is nothing sandbox about the alliance torny, but yet they did nothing to discourage the meta gaming.
So in the end, it is no surprise it bite them back on the azz.

We'd be better off without sponsors, without 120bil ISK prizes, and without unique blueprints. If there was no financial incentive to win by whatever means possible, perhaps we'd get PvP back to AT.

good idea. However, I have no doubts AT X will be more metagaming and more adds. Look at Tour de France. It is pretty simular to AT X. The basic idea is very nice, but hten come all the greedy freaks and they to make it their own show of exhibitionism.

they just sponsored a tournament people are going to remember longer than any other tournament.
we shant forget shattered crystal and evga (especially as their gfx cards blow up 1 day after the guarantee runs out)
nor will we forget PL's advert "WHO WILL STOP US?" right after their tournament exit.
There is no such thing as bad news and I think the sponsors got an excellent outcome.

Yeah, the almost godlike nature of being granted the gift of graphics in such a way would truly be blessed. Still, if you can buy it for cheap from some dude at a counter in a computer shop, that's good enough.

Well I've voiced my extreme displeasure to the tournament sponsors. Here's hoping plenty of others do too. Then the lame metagaming jerks can cry as much as they like here, but they still won't get a grandstand for their lameness.

Yeah, let's just decrease the chance of another alliance tournament so the people who DID enjoy it (not just the spectators but all the people involved in it's broadcasting, and the commentators, and the experts) AND the alliances that like taking part each year who don't care about winning or losing but just having fun will all have their fun ruined just because 30 whiney little kids OUT OF 30,000 VIEWERS didn't like what happened.
Real mature guys, real mature. If you succeed, I hope your computers explode, then we'll see how you like having your fun ruined. |

In fact none of you agreeing to this 'complain to the sponsors' crap are even seeing the bigger picture here:
If you affect the sponsors and possibly stop them sponsering CCP you aren't just disrupting the alliance tournaments, you're affecting Eve Vegas, you're affecting fanfest, you're affecting every event CCP do in the future. Without the sponsors CCP can't afford to run any events, that stops them gaining the extra net income they require each year to keep expanding Eve and other CCP products.
What? You thought their server hosting was FREE or something?
The devs need to be paid their wages to work on eve expansions, server hosting has to be paid each month, and they can't make that money from subscriptions alone, also taking into account many players pay for their game time with PLEX essentially meaning CCP get no money for you playing this game at all. You won't just destroy the tournament by stopping the sponsors, you could in fact bring this whole game down with it, a game that over 70,000 people worldwide have enjoyed for the last 7 years, and want to continue to enjoy for many years to come.
You're idiots if you complain to the sponsors, grow up and stop being so blatently selfish.

Voiced my opinion to the sponsors as well. Having organised offline and online pc and console tournaments myself for several years I have a fair bit of experience.
Tournaments are not only about the rules and prizes, its about how your tournament is valued and perceived by the community. This tournament failed on several fronts. It started already with biased commentators, commentators need to be neutral. If they are not, that needs to be addessed by the tournament staff.
Furthermore saying "this is EVE" when clearly the final match is fixed is the most stupid excuse I ever heard. Especially coming out of the mouth of adult(s). If you value the time and effort put in by the majority of participants, working maybe for months to gather the resources needed, if you value that you cannot and would not say such a thing.
If the tournament staff has some balls and does not want to lose more credability they better come up with a damn good frame and set of rules in which to operate.
This tournament finals was a joke. And realising that does more damage then the isk destroyed.

No but this has happened before in the past with a lot of games and games comapnies and then all these little forum trolls start crying about it afterwards when it was their own damned fault, and it takes the enjoyment out for the people who do genuinly care about the game they're playing.
Hellgate: London is a good example, it was a fun online multiplayer pew-pew game, but players complained because certain little bugs weren't being fixed as fast as they'd have liked, so they complained, the company stopped getting support and went bankrupt, and the game bottomed out and now no one can play it online, all because some *****es wanted to have a whinge about a few teenie little errors.

Actually they failed because their business model failed. Transposing bugs in a game to your argument as to why a company failed is a strawman argument.
If people want to complain to sponsors providing prizes in a tournament in which said prizes were handed out in a fashion based on guessing results that they assumed to be "legit" it is their right to. If people don't want to complain and are just fine with said results, that is their right also. But making a silly argument saying it'll be the downfall if things is kind of out there.
A few complaints probably won't make them lose the sponsor, but if CCP hears from a sponsor that they aren't happy how things were handled, it may force them to rethink future events and how they are handled.

So ppl shouldnt complain at all if they care about the game. This is golden.

Goldenly honest?
Ever tried working it out, the average cost of hosting a server plus wages for developers, server upkeep and maintenance, and hosting for a game of this size, you're looking at around... $2 million-$5 million a month depending on how much they pay in wages and how they're hosting the server. Now let's also take into account the fact that there are multiple servers for Eve, Singularity and all those other ones and add those, about... $7 million - $9 million per month (I'm not making these prices up, these are approximate estimates taken from looking at websites that host game servers)
Then we add ontop of that the development of expansion packs and further CCP prpducts such as Dust 514 and World Of Darkness, and add ontop of that that the server isn't just one thing sitting in iceland, there's host points all over the world to reduce the overall lag everyone receives and keeps everyone's bandwidth at a good level...
I'm not even going to try and calculate how much that would cost.
Then let's say that Eve has 100,000 players paying the 15 euro a month, for the sake of simplicity (and a lack of a euro currency icon on my keyboard) we'll translate to dollars.
15 euro is $21.45. Let's round down to $21 to make the math easier to comprehend.
100,000 x $21 = $2,100,000.
That doesn't even cover the server cost and maintenance.
Perhaps people can see the pretty picture now?

I'm not saying don't complain, but if you're going to complain, complain to CCP, not to their sponsors. If you complain to CCP they may listen to you and they may fix what's wrong, they've done it time and time again in the past and I doubt they're about to stop.
Complaining to the sponsors though will prevent CCP from fixing what people are complaining about, because they won't be able to afford to fix it.
