Edited by: Livinglegend on 20/06/2011 22:19:23 I haven't flown a battlecruiser in quite a while (2 years) and honestly i lost my touch with them. I know the Brutix is good for cheap fun and I've seen some pretty solid blaster set ups. Same for the Myrm, a little bit more expensive but still a good battlecruiser because you fit it in a crapload of different ways. Recently I've been flying an Ishkur but i want to get something for that occasion for when i need something with a bit more punch. So if you guys could give your opinions on which is better for PVP it'd be greatly appreciated. I got T2 Medium Hybrid and Energy Weapon skills and pretty good drone skills, so you can see why i have this toss up. Either the Brutix Gunboat or the Myrm Drone Boat. ------------------------

Brutix only has three fits that are worth much that I know of, you either honor tank, or armor or shield buffer, but it's all generally the same, you're flying around in a one trick pony, which can be very nice, considering it does pack quite an immediate punch.
The Myrmidon is obviously much more versatile and can fulfill a variety of rolls, etc. but it may not be ideal in smaller gangs of a handful of people, because relying on drones for fast mobile gangs is probably not going to go over well with your buddies if they want to chase after someone and you're like "Wait guys, my drones?!"

Honestly it just depends on what you want to do with it. Personally if it was me (being a pirate) i would almost always go for a Brutix. Yes, the myrmidon, has more versitility, but the brutix isnt that far behind it.
You have 3 main ways to fit a Brutix- 'Facemelter' Neutron shield buffer, 'Tough as a brick sh*t house' 1600 plate fit and the 'Wtf you actually use bonuses! 0o' Dual armour rep setup.
The myrm on the other hand has 4 major setups- Dual-rep, Shield buffer (auto or blaster), Triple rep and 1600 buffer. It is the best solo tier 2 bc out there in my opinion- beating the mighty hurricane for sheer solo ability. BUT if you are a pirate 75% of your applyable DPS will be destroyed by sentries. Athough fighing on gates/stations isnt 100% of the pvp experience- i would still prefer the brutix for sheer damage capability. (personally i prefer shield neutron fit. it will beat pretty much any bc's in the right situtation including the myrm. Just watch out for armour canes and harbingers which can be tricky)

Personally I love the T2 Heavy Pulse Harby, but I'm in 0.0 Warfare. Most of my targets are in Drakes and Canes which irks me cause i solo roam. My Ishkur is good but not that good haha, i eat frigates and cruisers of all kinds alive. Anything bigger, not so much.

Edited by: Rayce Farelle on 20/06/2011 22:59:59 A solo dual-repping myrm might be the best choice, especially if you have decent drone skills, as it will take out pretty much any battlecruiser with the right piloting. Drakes should be mincemeat for a dual-rep myrm, the only problem you might have is a hurricane with dual neuts, but it shouldnt be that much of a problem.
One main difference you'll have to get use to coming from a harbinger- the dps. Although technically the same stats wise, the harbinger will always have the feel of 'lots of dps' comapared to the myrm where you'll have drone travel/orbit time, possibility of drone destruction etc. It is a different play style, but a myrm is a very good anti-bc bc. However if you like the gun-boat direction, then the brutix will be a very similar play style to a harbinger, and if you dual rep it, then you can get use to an active tank, that doesnt do the most dps (with ions or elections)
