It looks ok and should help new people who like to have the game do all their thinking for them find agents faster. People who make big isk running missions already know the agent is the last thing you look for, anyway, not the first. It's the LP store, stupid! |

Oh for f's sake, animation? Nice to look at for three seconds, and after that it'll only ever slow a search down. There's an option to turn it off, right?
Oh and yeah, no locator tickbox, so it just lost 75% of its utility. Eve-agents.com is still better. |

Seeing that the Agent finder looks like a carbon copy of Chribba's excellent web-page, are you going to credit him in some way?
Plagiarism is bad and even more so when a 'big' takes from a 'small'!!

It would be great if you could specify another system besides the one your in for the jump distance calculation. Many times I finish at a level 2 agent, and I want to find the closest lvl 3 to my corp HQ, not to where I am currently. But that would be icing, thanks for the new interface.

That sounds remarkably like "I like it too much to let you, the user, not see it."

Thank you, this and the lag reduction thread have saved me from cancelling. I have just the toon thats a bit lost in new space too. :)

Oh and yeah, no locator tickbox, so it just lost 75% of its utility. Eve-agents.com is still better.
The combo box animation is fine, perhaps a little unnecessary but it doesn't seem to get in the way. I agree with others that it would be nice to have more than 6 agents per page, possibly an option to hide the agent portrait and show a boring table-like list view would make it less pretty but more functional. Depressing how everything in UI ends up as a table eventually...
The key here being the fact that it's in game and will always be up to date unlike chribba's eve-agents. I'm willing to bet plenty of eve players don't know a lot of these third party sites/tools exist, especially if they are new to eve (most new players will have to find an agent at some point).
I am unsure how this can lose "75%" of its utility by not having a locator agent filter. That seems a little unlikely.
As for the e-anger, I suggest a warm beverage and a cuddle with your favourite teddy.

We should be able to sort by datacore research availability also.
I wouldn't be surprised if they deliberately kept it simpler than some of those already out there deliberately to not make them redundant. And also to not overload new players who use this.
No, they just suck and dont know what players want.

Originally by: Machon Danichus I'm sure it's been said already but why not add a region filter as well? Or 'within x jumps' filter? Sometimes you're looking for an agent within a particular favourite area.
You don't have to select a system. So if you just leave it on any, then you'll get the agents closest to you first in the results.
No, You CANT select a system, and are FORCED to only sort on distance. Seriously what is wrong with developers these days. Limitations are NOT features. Look at eve-agents, compare, realize how much your tool is lacking and fix it, or pay Chribba $99 to implement it for you.

Very Nice
But as a new player who only got to see about 2 weeks of the original Agent system.
I am disappointed that this is the reason the original Agent system got scrapped.
The fact I needed to do research outside the game was novel, a game that needed thought instead of key pounding!
I was promised by colleague at work that EVE was the Modern BBC Micro 'Elite' (Yes I am old enough to have queued up to buy it on the first day) But with far more complexity and lots of real players who are all 'bar-stewards' who will kill you fairly or unfairly at the first opportunity they get!
All I can say is I wish I had found EVE in 2003.
It now looks as I missed the heydays and this is yet another game where frippery & pandering to the 'I want it NOW, but I DON'T want to work or think about it' WoW generation is winning!
That said I have still bought a subscription in the hope it doesn't slide to much further down the IQ scale!
Oh! there is one thing that does hold true from my colleagues sales pitch. You definitely cannot let your guard down while playing

Nice design, intuitive and easy to use. "Select System" should be a search box and not a drop-down. Reiterating that locator agent option, region filter and R&D research fields really needs to be included sooner rather than later.

it's almost as good as eve-agents.com! if you were able to configure the starting station for the distance calculations, i would probably start using this over eve-agents.

Of all the many, many things I'm VERY unhappy about with Incarna, the agent finder is actually very, very good. Sincere congratulations. I'll turn on CQ just so I can use it. 'Course I'll turn CQ immediately back off after I set destination.
Now, throw away the rest of Incarna and integrate it into the neocom, or wherever, and you'll have made my day (which definitely TOTALLY sucked up until this find).

I would say out of this patch, the best thing for me so far out is the Agent Finder. I would really like to congratulate you on implementing this in game, though outside tools were available for this from long time, but it will really help out to have it in Game, and there is no problem of it getting out of sync :) That being said, would it be possible in future to check out LP store of all corporations in game to be accessible from a Single location, right now you have to dock in respective station to check out the LP store. Although i think the reason behind is you browse LP store and get stuff from it on the station you are docked. But if i just want to find out the Stuff offered by Let say Angel Cartel, while sitting in Jita, that should help a lot.

Nice one! Finally the agent finder moved from the outside of eve into the game!
Now you should remove the old division categories (internal securiti, mining, command etc) and replace them with the new (two) ones in the filter tools.
I hope you will implement new usefull tools like that in the future so we will need no more to use external software/internet.
More immersion incoming!!!!

Good work.
"filtered by the faction that has the best standings towards you"
This can be changed?
I for example have great minmatar and good gallente standings but am in gallente space and its listing agents rather far away all the time.

This is just what happens when you first open the window. You can change it in the filter options.

Originally by: Salpun NPE systems and NPE agents are not listed in the search function making it hard for older players to run thru the NPE epic arc to see the great fleet of ships and Academy at the end of it.
As far as im aware the old NPE agents have been replaced by Aura, if you hit F12 you should be able to still run the tutorials as long as you haven't in the past. Not sure you'll get the quick and dirty fraction standings now though.
Was this about the the old Tutorial_Agents who gave the mission 'The Endless Battle'? I was informed they've been removed from the game? That's 15 agents for each of the 4 main Factions. Total = 60 agents.
They were a good source for gaining positive Faction standing along with repairing negative Faction standing, even if it was just a small amount. They played a major part when first working the Faction Standing Repair Plan.
Any chance of giving those agents a new title (Political Liaison ?) and paying them more isk to come back out of retirement? If not, are there any replacement agents available that give the same mission?
Besides the removal of those agents and adding more lag while in station, Incarna and Captains Quarters is cool. I like the direction this game is heading. One step closer to a virtual Universe simulation.

U can find a button named Agent Finder at the top of the Agents tab when docked, on the station services window.

So the only reason for destroying the agent variety was to allow the agent finder to function for the release of CG? When CCP said they were altering the spawning of plexes to create more variety in regions of space I took this as the official stance - variety is good for Eve. To then find you destroying this massively varied, fully functional aspect of the game was disappointing initially. To then also find out the incredibly weak reasoning behind it was simply breath-taking. CCP, you really need to make your minds up about what Eve is. Pushing players in a direction that many have little interest in and which removes existing and enjoyed features is a way to commercial suicide.
