"I heard you all got attacked by a pirate."
"Yeah, but I wiped him out."
"Did you pod him as well?"
"Yep, destroyed everything but the shirt on his back."

So the clothes has the ability to teleport anywhere through magic. One more step to the hello kitty heaven. The next step is probably going to be making all assets available from anywhere, we just have to say 'bank buy guards' and there you have all your stuff. I still care about this game but every new expansion makes me care a little bit less.

Originally by: CCP Zinfandel Thanks for bringing this up. And I did chuckle at the great "killmail" above.
We finalized on the following characteristics: -clothing are destructible while in your cargo (like anything else) -clothing are not destroyed if podded while worn - you will wake up in your new clone wearing the same outfit -clothing does not travel with you if you take advantage of a jump clone - it remains in the previous station -items such as the eye implants or Amarr monocles which are installed in the body do NOT behave like implants but can be removed and put on again at will (or even resold.)
We believe these settings best serve both our current population as well as those players who come later and learn to play EVE Online without the benefit of a specific briefing on the new functionality.
I'm confused.... please help.
I start at a station, just got some my brand new clothes, feeling good. But now it time to do some hauling. I strip down, jump naked into my pod. The pod is loaded into the ship. Now at this point my clothes are either in a pod compartment or left in a locker at the station.
In low sec, I undock. Oh darn, I find myself in the middle of a camp. I'm targeted, alarms are sounding. As I align to the closest celestial object, I find my pod without a ship. "Warp damn it, warp..."
I wake up in another station, in high sec far away from where I was. It's brand new clone, no implants, I'm naked. Where are my new clothes? In the debris field that was once my ship and pod? At the station where I undock? Oh no, here they are. Right next to me.
After thought: if I could harness the tech in my clothes and apply it to my ships, implants, and mods, I could make billions of ISKs.

So, let me make sure I understand this correctly. Everyone is fine with "I'm podded, I die, wake up in station instantly ALL my abilities and skills (assuming an up to date clone) are intact," and the capsuleer's mind is not traumatized by the fact he just died. But you find it sooo ****ing far flung that a new set of clothing was impossible for the workers at the cloning facility to come up with? |

As part of the costs to house and maintain your clone, the people that are responsible for the care of clone also dress the clone in an outfit of the original's choosing. It has always been handled this way, we just haven't ever seen it due to the limitations of the game.

It could be an epic CCP troll.
First say you don't lose dresses when podded, so that everyone faithfully spam aurum to buy them.
Once most have bought them, policy change and now you will lose them when podded. => Economy vitamins + nice troll.

No, apparently clothes become the only item in eve that can magically teleport across the galaxy. No matter where you buy your clothes, you'll always have a set waiting at your home station.
It wouldn't be so bad if they also got shared across jump clones. But it makes no sense JCing leaves your clothes behind while getting podded doesnt.
DID YOU CRY THIS MUCH WHEN YOUR CLONE WOKE UP WITH THE SAME FACIAL HAIR, SCARS AND TATTOOS YOU HAD BEFORE YOU DIED?

Okay, now I'm becoming paranoid . And it's a bit creepy. The people who are responsible for the care and dressing of my clone, knew what I was wearing a few minutes ago? I feel violated.

They don't travel from the place you popped... they're at the cloning facilities. Pilot perks... everyone has access to pods and basic clones at a facility. The tricky part was sending the mind there intact.

I love how we can have aa limitless supply of nanite that can repair a ship and all of its equipment from any damage short of total structural collapse, and (sub-capital) ships can be built from scratch in a matter of hours, but when you get dumped in a new death clone, or move yourself to a different station, having new cloths made for you is nothing short of ****ing magic. -Xindi Kraid: Delivering acerbic wit and scathing comments with just a dash of 'stab you in the eye' |

Yet another good reason why not to get podded.
Well, I don't know about you but the first thing I'm going to do, once I can leave my quarters, is to head down to the cloning lab and pop a few of those perverts.

Excellent decision, I think this is a good move for both the players and for CCP.
except now there's a source for new clothes via the AUR store and no real sink for them, which means they're just going to pile up in the economy until they become absolutely worthless _____________________ Look down. 120 to 200k isk is enough for several interstellar combat ships... is it really too much to believe that you've paid for replacement outfits for life?
Personally I think it should add onto your clone replacement cost as a slight isk sink for the frivolous, but this way is ok too. Destroying people for their clothes would have been fun, hope it still applies to monocles n stuff I guess, since that was somewhat vaguely answered... --- +Welcome to my world+ |

...until you read that they can't be blown up on your person. This comment, like the hundred other OMG-EVE-IS-DED threads predicting New Eden's doom at the advent of the Aurum store, is rooted in ignorance.
Anyone who thinks that the Noble Exchange is somehow CCP's meal ticket, needs to get checked. They've provided an optional service, that you don't have to pay for, for what looks like permanently in-game items if you're not being stupid them hauling around in your cargo.
If the "EvE = the new WoW" crowd really thinks that this is a cash grab, its the most extraordinarily foolish one ever. No way can CCP sustain New Eden via the Noble Exchange.
To all the people freaking over microtransactions - chill out, just dont buy em, and CCP will never have a dime of your money beyond the same subscription fee that its always been, year after year after year.
