Oh wow, so you will probably be able to buy new overpowered modules for your internetspaceships via Aurum, which you are supposed to create by converting PLEX you created with RL-Cash.
If I REALLY wanted to spend my RL Cash on internet fashion pixels and want to ****wave around other player's avatars with my fancy overpriced clothing, I'd play Second Life. But no, I play EVE because of the internet spaceships gameplay - and this expansion has done next to nothing to it.
WTB the 2003-Dominion Dev Team, at least they added GOOD gameplay features.
WTB a brain cell to keep the other one you have company. Since it has clearly escaped your attention, CCP no longer release full expansions in one big chunk, rather they now release them as "iterations". You get the initial release, followed by 2 or 3 of these "iterations" which all add up to an expansion. This practice first started with Incursions and was deemed successful enough that it has been adopted as the format for ALL future releases.
Perhaps if you spent more time learning to read, and less time carefully crafting tin foil hats you might learn something.
You have obviously no idea for how long Incarna has been in development? http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=777 August 2010

Ever thought of ignoring Incarna, and simply focus on the spaceship part of EVE? Incarna will only come to play when you are docked, and there you can still use all the old buttons. So you dont have to walk an inch in Incarna. And I guess Aurum "overpowered" stuff will be put out in Contracts and the Market. So I guess you will sooner or later get some yourself.
So ignore Incarna, and siply see this downtime as a chance to go outside and get some sun on your pale skin. |

Originally by: Alexzia Sevic Seriously if CCP were to introduce ships and modules that are "overpowered", and there has been no evidence to say that they will, how is this any different then buying PLEX with RL cash, selling in eve for isk and then buying officer mods?
The difference is that when someone buys a PLEX sell it for ISK and get officer mods it lowers the price of PLEX and makes the game cheaper for the rest of us. Especially the dude selling the officer mod...
With AUR the PLEX will just go poof which means that BOUGHT GAME TIME is being destroyed making the game more expensive to play for those paying in ISK. If everyone where to blow up there PLEX like this CCP should however make enough from these "donations" to lower the subscription and GTC price ... but how likely is that ...

Every single plex in game came from RL cash. how YOU got it isnt the point. they ALL started with a RL cash transaction.

Do you think that changing the entire game is some simple task? They could have just pulled the plug on Eve and started creating a completely different game, but they chose to be loyal to their customers and add the new CONTENT as a free expansion..once again. You think they are milking you for money? Don't ****ing spend the money. It is not required to play and in no way are they forcing you to do it.
They have explained in more than enough detail that this expansion will take some time and a few phases to implement. Anyone with half the IQ necessary for normal bodily function should be able to see that what they are doing here is an extremely difficult and significant upgrade and modification to this game.
Your post is just pointless drivel about things you obviously don't understand at all. There is absolutely nothing for you to complain about here, period. STFU you dumb little child.

>CCP adding things that are basically what hats are to TF2 >CCP does this to drive PLEX prices through the roof >More players won't be able to pay for their game-time with PLEX >Are forced to buy their game time with RL money
Free Expansion I don't think you understand the reason why CCP incorporated the NeX/Aurum. Akita T (a very respectable member of the EVE-O forums) made this clear before.

That is the point, don't you see? He is complaining about having to spend his own real life cash for vanity items when that isn't the case. The entire point made is that the individual player can decide how to acquire the vanity items, not how PLEXes make it to the market.
If you disagree, or if my words were not written clearly enough, then there's little else to discuss.
Hello there, you seem to have a strong case of the stupid; I suggest you take a long lie down away from a computer so we dont have to read anything you type for a while.
Try and understand that without real world currency being pumped into CCPs pockets, be it fancy dollars or shiny euros, no Aurum would exist to buy your dapper dan space flatcap, or your PVC-look figure hugging catsuit. Personally, I dont think that content 100% reliant on extra payments beyond your subscription fee should be lauded or encouraged in any shape or form, and it is quite revealing as to the future direction of this game.
Remember when CCP used to release expansions free of charge? That time is over, pay-for-content has arrived
THIS is what the OP was trying to make you understand.
What the OP wasnt debating that you have no life outside EVE and play the game for hours upon hours grinding up enough isk to pay for a monthly subscription using PLEX bought from the market; thats a given.
Saying you play the game for free by buying plex is the same as saying minerals you mine are free is the same as saying you have a 'choice' to not use AUR when buying barbie doll clothes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - OLD FORUM I ♥ YOU, NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN! |

OP pretty quick jumping in with the damning indictment of Incarna when the servers aren't even up. Seeing as we don't pay any extra for the "expansions" I find it hard to agree with his criticisms. Aurum is a fairly innocuous method of microtransaction when you compare it with other games where you are virtually forced to shell out the money in order just to be competitive. There is absolutely NO reason to partake of the system unless you are into dressing up barbie dolls.
Personally I just hope that the CQ module doesn't end up being such a huge resource hog demanding cutting edge hardware that it affects the new player uptake of the game or indeed puts off existing players who are not into upgrading their systems every year. -----

i saw nothing in that post saying you would buy overpowered modules, it said that they overhauled the way that attributes affect ALL modules. oh, and you know people will be selling these items for regular isk right? so you dont have to spend your real cash.

You do realize that vanity items, along with the CQ is completely optional. Noone is forcing you to purchase vanity items and no one is forcing you to enter CQ (there is an option do disable CQ from the ESC menu, putting you back to the hangar only view)

Speaking as someone who is quite looking forward to Incarna (if the servers ever come back up) I do need to point out that itÆs not free. We are paying a monthly subscription and expansions are part of a paid service. ItÆs true that WoW charge about ú20 for major expansions but WoW is also about ú4 per month cheaper to play. Just saying, the OP has a right to their opinion and that people shouting him/her down saying itÆs free expansion donÆt really have an argument.

-Incarna has been on Duality and SiSi for quite some time now, patch notes are public as well -Incarna will make the PLEX prices go poof, forcing more players to pay with a real life currency instead of PLEX -As said before, the only reason Aurum exists is this ^. It doesn't matter if YOU take part in dressing up barbie dolls, other people will, causing the PLEX prices to skyrocket -CCP still has the option to add items for AUR, which are vital for staying competitive (see the DOGMA changes in the patch notes)
-It will sure as hell waste development resources that would be better off elsewhere. Also some people already have reported their graphics card doesnt support the new CQ

I'd like to point out that the monthly fee for WoW is the same price as the monthly fee for EVE. Both are $14.95 a month for USD.
