Agree! As the fellow pilot said above: they scale terribly too. Too dark, to detailed and simply can't quite see the model.
It needs work: lighter, less detailed, more vectorial representation of the turrets, not the rusty blocks that look like 16-bit era icons. Aurum is Gold in Latin EVE Online Gold Shop - Welcome to the Future |

- CQ: as another player suggested, add the disembark button and activate it. Otherwise, keep as it was. - CQ: performance not bad on a Quad-Core CPU with Radeon 5870 video card. - New Turrets: Nice! - New Turrets's Icons: Bad! Too dark, textured and detailed. Do not scale well when placed next to targets. Check the strip miners. - Real New Content: missing in action. - Aurum Shop: Fair idea, bad implementation. Sprint more on that. My first reaction was KEWL - then frustration with getting my body to move around. Things seem real laggy but that is usual with the first few days of an expansion. I kindof like the screen interfaces but haven't figured out yet how to make the middle one do what I want. Gotta play with all the controls to learn. My face looks so squishy and ugly from nearly any angle........etc. etc. etc. But I do realize that this is just a first step towards a greater goal. I look forward to the day when I can set up my own shopfront in a station. OK - there's a suggestion.
Been reading all the messages asking for a choice between old station interface and new CQ. What about just a new docking option - "Dock" you go into CQ; Cargo Dock - you go just to station interface to dump cargo - makes much more sense for mining, picking up purchased items; dropping salvage loot to go back out etc. etc. The code changes would be easier I'd think.
Amazing how many of us loved to spin ships - and here I thought it was just me!!! Fly safe all and don't be too hard on CCP. Overall I think their intentions are sound - with 350K+ people there is no way they can ever please everyone about everything.

The issue with incarna isnt that CCP cannot please everyone about everything, it is the fact that they COMPLETELY IGNORED all the feedback from the mass tests, and people basically react to the new material in one of the four following ways (in order of likelihood, greatest to smallest)
1. This is crap, (turns off CQ, left with staring at a bulkhead) never turns it on again 2. This is kind of interesting, but im not buying anything (after 5 minutes, turns off CQ, turns it on once every week or so for 5 minutes) 3. This is mildly interesting, buys one or two overpriced items, realizes they are wortless, turns CQ off after an hour, plays with their character every few weeks or so. 4. I love the expansion, buys some new outfits, realizes after they bought all the items (or what they can afford) that they are just fluff and may or may not turn OFF CQ.
End of the day, all 4 people have an extremely high liklihood in turning off CQ
CCP, just bring back the old station view and give us a DISEMBARK option, seriously that will please about 95% of the people that have issues (well, their big complaints)

I think most people DO like the CQ (or the idea of the CQ at least). The real issues are in its mandatory nature (almost everyone would prefer to have a button in the normal hanger view that allows your to leave ship and enter the CQ), as well as the NEX shop.
Also, as it is, the CQ is a little broken. For example, if you want to clone jump, you're told to "leave ship." The problem being that when you're in the CQ, you're visually already out of the ship even though the game doesn't recognize that. Something to iterate on...

CCP, Why do you have to require me to create an avatar just to play EVE?!???
Now I can't even log in to play!!!
The problem: The EVE client always restarts itself after I click on the "Next" button when I've finished customizing my avatar. It shows that the client is loading in a couple of seconds, then restarts itself.
I'm using a brand new HP Pavilion DV4-3023TX notebook with 8GB RAM, enough juice to play EVE. 40-60 FPS using high level setting with V-Sync on(but only 2x Anti Aliasing). PS: I tried to lower all the settings too, but the client still restarts.
To be honest, I just return to play EVE after 21 months off and now I have to waste 3 days of game time for such a ridiculous reason: Players are required to finish creating an avatar to play!!!!!
I've submitted a petition, so far only 1 response which doesn't solve the problem.
It seems like my decision not to activate all my accounts at once is correct after all.
I wish you can solve my problem.

I'll post here my concnerns.
1. Incarna is still too buggy.
2. When you don't have CQ enabled you show a picture of a door. Sorry that is kind of a **** move as it presents the phrase "showing someone the door"
3. I don't know what you icelanders do for glasses, but i can get 2 pairs of prescription glasses for 99 bucks in the states and your monocle is 80 bucks. I think you need to re-evaluate all of your prices and the plex to aurum conversion asap. If you looked at ANY F2P game, most items even vanity are less than 10 bucks.
4. Give us the option to have ship spinning hangers rather than cq. Also there was a thread in GD that showed the gallente pleasure hub.
ok im done sorry been raging the past couple of days, but you know after 5 years and the stuff i have seen within the past few days. yeah i am disappointed.

5. People who can't play EvE because incarna either a) dropped support for their comp (+1 for me) or b) their comp that exceeds the minimum specs still fails in CQ and in space because of this patch.

My train of thought logging into Incarna:
1) Am I suppose to fly my ship or go to a LARP? I'm dressed for a LARP... 2) Is there a lifeguard hidden in my closet with a whistle at the first sign of breaking Scooby Doo tip-toe speed? 3) Are the vanity items produced by Bvlgari? Lebron wouldn't put this stuff on his Amex. 4) Wheres my spiny Rev? I liked my spiny rev, and my spiny paladin, and my spiny Raven... 5) Where the hell do you turn this off?
At that point I turned off CQ and had one final observation:
My spaceship spreadsheet man did look like he was hitting the clubs...
Capital Ships 5 now training...
If you need me I'll be at the clubs

You people have fun with Space Sims, I'm out.
I was under the impression that Captains Quarters would be optional. In a way it kinda is, but the other option is staring at NOTHING. I used to love being able to just right click on my ship when docked and do things, like open the cargo hold or drone bay.
There was no reason to remove that in an effort to force players to use the captains quarters. Between this and your plan to milk Chribba for 99 dollars a year, I'm gone.

Yeah, I don't like this update at all. I can appreciate all the effort that went into it, and I'm impressed by the achievement, and I may even be willing to admit that I'm somewhat curious where it might lead. But with that said, I'm just as impressed by people who wrangle rattlesnakes and those who are able juggle flaming chainsaws. In all the aforementioned cases, the obvious question is "Why the hell would you want to do that!? Who are you trying to impress, anyway??" I feel the same about this patch, and you won't find me investing my time in it any more than you'll find me taking up venomous snake acrobatics or smouldering chainsaw shenanigans. That's my opinion on the CONTENT.
On the PERFORMANCE of this patch, I notice a significant increase in memory resource hogging, and I'm disappointed that this Intel Core i5 760, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 machine I built a few months ago is already struggling to handle the three clients I routinely kept open prior to the advent of this new build. Even one client is laggy.
Can someone please tell me how the hell to turn this damn feature off anyway??
On a side note, I just checked, and despite the emotional and physical toll this build has taken on my constitution, I'm still strikingly handsome. Rejoice and be merry, all is not lost.

I love it, my feedback is like this.
I initially had trouble working out how to move around however it's quite easy once you get the idea. You can still use all of the older buttons such as ship hangar, items so after I dock it doesn't take me any longer to access those things if I need to.
Not sure what everyone is worried about the old windows are overlayed on the CQ screen any ways if you want to ignore CQ and use your left hand side buttons (they are still there).
My problem now is I'm spending too much time watching my 3 new plasma TVs in my CQ and forgetting to undock and play. :) I guess the novalty will wear off.
CCP you rock for implementing captains quarters and I can't wait for the updates where we can walk around in a community later in the year.
I have a few friends I want to share a quafe with :).
Did I mention that I love my new set of 3 plasmas on the wall I can see more information about whats going on and feels better when you immerse yourself into the CQ fully. Nah m8, that ship is mine.. |

Love the upgrade so far !!!!!
BUT my Proteous FLYS BACKWARDS ALL THE TIME !!!!!
It is the only ship that does it, please make it stop, very embarrasing in battle. My explanation that I am a b@d @ss pilot is wearing thin. Guns point backwards also and no warp graphics and engine graphics.
Also, as a minor critic, I do think the loss of perspective on the ship sizes in dock takes away from the reality of the game. My Friget should not be that big....

THIS is a sound idea worth considering very carefully. I'm in that 95% subset. Do this and fix the system resources issue, and in return we'll all promise to all spend at least 1000 isk trying out the new, amazing, EPIC versions of Minmatar Holdem and Amarrian Checkers I'm sure is in the development plan. Right, everyone?

^^^^ stuck in reverse .. ESC menu ingame -> Clear Cache Files and you'll be right as rain. And yes your friget does look that fat in that dress ...
Two years in eve .. for the most part it's been a positive improvement if you look at the big picture. I do get an uneasy feeling that this is turning into a "golden goose" for CCP and they'll end up killing it in the process of mining it. Remember, pigs get fat. Hogs get slaughtered !
I like the premiss of CQ (as a start). In five days when the newness wares off I'll ignore it and just press the stations buttons along the side to get done what I need to. Yes .. you can simply ignore it and just use the neocom interface or station controls.
Turrets .. the best part IMO. But they really do need to stay retracted unless you go for an active lock or you've entered warp. An ARM THE WEAPONS SYSTEMS button could also work.
Turret Icons - wow .. what to do. Howabout the old icons back. You could at least tell what they were. Kind of like "internation icons" for female/male and not a newspaper picture of a female/male. K.I.S.S. principal.
Lighting in CQ. I think that is a rendering engine issue. The "tops" of ALL surfaces are lit reguardless if there should be a shadow nullifing that effect. This is part of their new engine coding I would think. That will get better with maturity. Am I willing to wait? .. sure, this is NOT CoD, Fear, Crysis or Doom. 95% of the time I'm in space shooting at stuff. If I want to kill someone in CQC I load up one of the afore mentioned FPS'ers
What I was supprised to see was overhead. (well and the cost of a pair of glasses - ah ..no thanks) Everyone whos complained about being slow with more than one client open, take a look at your memory usage. For me that was 2.23gb on a system (XP-Pro 32bit = maxed) with only 2gb physical memory. That means .23gb (230mb) is spooling to my HDD swapfile .. no wonder its slow and laggy. I was no where near this level of overhead prior to CQ.
Lucy, you have sum optimizing tu do !! My god .. it's full of stars ! |

So many haters.

What a complete asshat - wake up and smell the coffee bud. They have a right to have a good moan if they are paying for something that simply is broken, Years of broken promises from CCP on the war on lag and they create this monster, It's put so many players pc's on the scrap heap that ran this fine before this crap patch, Not to mention the fact that NOT EVERYONE has a f----g money tree in the back garden to simply go upgrade to run this garbage. CCP are all self, self, self - greedy fat cats that don't give a s---t about the paying customers. Look at the prices in real life money for the clothes and that pathetic looking eye peace, that to me says it all as far as i'm concerned.

So...its their fault you didnt bother to check over things? Near every time they mentioned Incarna they also mentioned that it would have heavier requirements than EVE was using already at that time. Most people generally expect the requirements to go up every so often with expansions. Not the first time it's happened with EVE either.
Edit: I would like to add one thing...of course CCP is going to go after money, they need to if they want to grow and take home paychecks to their families...or do you guys think they make this game out of the good of their hearts? ---------------------------------

Hey now, no need for the language. The blame goes to both sides. You didn't check and many people ignored being told that the system requirements were changing, but CCP also could have done better.
I accept that the game would be better if the CQ was optional. As some people have said before, having a button to enter the station or somesuch from the original hangar view. This would work wonders for those of you who can't and/or wont upgrade, for those that complain about running more than one client and would even speed things up for those of us that are otherwise fine.
But going off your head when you could have checked is a tad immature. So forgive me, but if this is how you'd react, I think EVE will be better off without you.
Ps. I enjoy the CQ, although I prefer not to run more than 1 client now due to it. Its the bugs like the skills issues, the low detailed new icons for the weapons and the fact that the CQ almost seems to have a memory leak that worries me. ---------------------------------

Ignorant?...Do you realise that with less pilots playing EVE, the more of an adverse effect it has on my gaming? I'm a pvp pilot, I make my money off destroying others. Without those others to destroy, things will get rather boring for me in EVE. The fact that this has a negative impact to the degree that so many can't play means that it effects everyone in EVE.
There is no legal issue since they did post several times that the requirements changed. Simple as that. The details were there for public viewing and you didn't check. They didn't ask for your soul, they didn't ask for all the money you had. So seriously, please, grow up.
Now until you can act like you're older than 9 and just figured out how to construct a sentence with every 2nd word being abusive, I doubt CCP will take you in any way seriously. ---------------------------------

Ok yeah I should expect that oh wait I played WOW for what 5 years and never had that happen to be where they choose to upgrade and freeze me out but yeah as you say oh mighty rat that you are says I should have to I will now rewrite my memories to suit your defense of this company.
First: Its "You're" not "Your", "too" not "to", and "effects" not "effect"...I could go on, but I will let your teacher do that. Second: You played WoW for 5 years? Says it all right there =) Third: Can I haz all yout stuffz?
