CCP,
First I would like to thank you for all the obviously ridiculous amount of time and work you have put into this game and update (I really enjoy the world you have created).
There are a few things, however, that I would like to suggest:
-You've done an excellent job creating CQ for the highest end hardware, but the new challenge will be making it to where the majority of the community can use it without cooking an egg on the processor or requiring them to buy a new computer (which they won't do). Being able to dumb CQ down for the "normal" computer and still make it look good is a must as you move forward.
-The functionality has been reduced when CQ is turned off by not having instant access to our current ship (the aesthetics are also severely reduced). Functionality is where we live, so this is probably priority #1.
-The "vanity items", in addition to being severely overpriced for what players are typically willing to pay for (you know what your programming costs are, so that's up to you but it's out of my comfort zone, price-wise), are also NOT the items that most players want. I was actually pretty underwhelmed by the options, which look almost the same as what we have available for free. The items a LOT of people would buy are (in order): all black leather trench-coat without a bunch of weird stuff on it that makes it look like the village people (ex: http://productsuperstores.com/ck/images/Mens%20Black%20Leather%20Trench%20Coat-GFTR.jpg), normal glasses and sunglasses that don't make us look like Columbian drug lords, a desert eagle pistol, a sawed-off combat shotgun, and then the carny crowd stuff like pimp hats, chainsaws, cowboy hats, Jason masks, mexican sombreros, etc.
-Finally, the ONE THING that most players would buy isn't offered...a password authenticator. These are cheap and blizzard's been doing them for years for players who have (comparatively) far less invested in their accounts. It's the ONLY way of being 99.9% sure you don't get your account stolen (it forces it to be an inside job) and shouldn't be THAT difficult to implement. Particularly with all the time you've spent on account security and the number of 3rd party software available and being used, this should be a no-brainer. These should be sold at a reasonable price (no more than $10US and preferably $5US + shipping).
Hope this helps and keep working hard to make our game great!

Buying SP?!
Please dont do this, im begging you. One of the best things about this game is the bit where you have just spent 25 days training a skill and its finally finished and you tell everyone in corp and the grats roll round. If you put in an option to buy XP there will be no sense of achievment and you might as well be playing the Smurfs or Original Gangstaz or any other game that you can spend loads of money to 'cheat' you way to a higher level.
Not only that but the long skill training and very steep learning curve has kept all the console kiddies and idiots from sticking at this game. It has kept it a mature player base and I know that being able to buy SP will cause loads of these idiots to come and play this wonderful game because they can get to the top easily and quickly. We dont want these people in this game, let them carry on playing thier PS3's and Xbox's.
Please dont be greedy and dont bring buying SP to the table, it will kill this game.

Edited by: Drakkhar on 27/06/2011 07:19:44 Let me put it short and sweet.
1. The captains quarters was a half @$$ release attempt to test the water with the real Incarna proposal. And it was not delivered as expected or demonstrated.
2. The vanity items are ridiculously priced in terms of a. Actual pricing of vanity items compared to competing products and b. are totally overpriced when compared to the in game market. In short, it was a poor attempt or ccp to attempt to make extra cash. The model of how this aspect of the game works needs to be revisited. This could be far more profitable, fun, and competitive than it stands currently. Also: I see a lot of talk about many great items (vanity items) added to the market. Let's correct this, it is two uniforms, that are the same no matter what factions station you are in. There is not a lot of selection. Poor.there is a serious misconnect between what is happening herewith the game (product) and the well founded story and culture within the game itself.
I am beginning to loose faith in CCPs ability to deliver what they promise consumer. Each expansion seems to get cut more and more but the sales pitched remains strong an all too often we see great components of expansions suddenly disappear which have been promised all along. This is no acceptable. There's some Blizzardidus goin on in the house of CCP.

I didnt bother reading through all the trollers but il just say for ship spinng
1.Go to Fitting Window 2.Wait For Loading[My PC takes ages] 3.Use your mouse and move it around really fast 360degrees style
Ship Spinning Is Still Around Just not as epic as it used to be.
And Il Say Well Done CCP.I mean iv been here since the middle of Apocrypha and when i started looking at the forums the amount of people going nuts over how crap they think the expansion is.
.Its Free .Yes they need to work on there timing... .They Always Deliver In My Opinion.I just seem to have a more open mind then most here
You Can Always "turn off" CQ if you dont like it.And You DONT HAVE TO Walk In the stations.YOU DONT HAVE TO Buy stuff in the Noble Exchange. You dont have to troll all the time on patch day.you dont have to dock in stations,Grab all your assets and just live in a POS.If I see you with the sign "Will Self Destruct Pod For Fresh Air" il watch your ship ,Go out get some sun.[The idea came to me if you max out your graphics could you get a tan from the Sun In-System]Watch TV.Do whatever it is you do when you dont play eve,I know for some of us thats nothing cause you just play eve.
Well Thats Me Finished For Now...

Drones being damaged by area of effect incidents in missions. Really?
I just ran "The Anomaly 1/3" and had THREE ENTIRE FLIGHTS of drones shot into structure. With the 50% drone HP bonus. Without being able to do **** about it.
This is yet another attempt to balance carriers / supercarriers for some **** or the other, but who gets slapped in the face? The guy trying to run missions with drones. The same drones that already have less DPS AND travel time before they apply damage.
Seriously... who makes these decisions? I honestly want to know. Who decides this? Please answer to this post and tell me why you thought this could possibly be a good idea.

CCP, you really need to address the issues caused by this last expansion. Roll it back for more testing, send it back for more developing, cut it back on resource taking, etc.
Whatever you decide to do, do it asap.
Last and certainly not least, keep the players informed and stay true to your word.

I really wish more had been added as far as space game play, lag-reduction, new modules, weapons, ships, ect. The ability to change ship skins would have been wildly more popular than toons portraits IMO. INCARNA has increased lag to the point where I cannot run multiple accounts. The station lag is terrible. Changing ships is more difficult. undocking blackscreens forever. And walking in stations is stupid.

First of all, i'm quite new to EVE, so all of this comes from a new player(2-3 months).
- Nex. Yes, it's strange that i have to pay more after i payed for the game, yes the current situation about nex and CCP plans about it is... interesting, but(you may take it as a survey answer) after some thinking i come to the fact that i would actually buy something cosmetic from that store if the range was a lot wider and prices were really MICRO(1$-5$). On the other hand if it is possible i would like to be able to MAKE this items. Actually, why not let people to make this items, but charge them in AUR for renting the production lines, or paying taxes? Why? I'm immortal space warrior, i know nothing about pants, so if i want some, i need to hire an army of designers.
- CQ. Well, it is demanding and needs optimisation. Just imagine what will happen when we will be able to exit CQ to see, maybe, 50 other players at once in a bit more big and complex room. BUT! Why do i have to dock, than leave my ship in a capsule, than leave my capsule(wich is not a very pleasant experience), than dress, only to unload minerals from my ship/take new heap of ammo, undress, reenter the capsule and connect to the ship. So, yes, disembark button will be nice. If the old hangar code is already dumped, you can use fitting window as a background, until player decides to take a walk. I don't want to leave my ship until i have buisnes on the station.
The other thing here are screens. It would be greate if i could customise them. I'm not interested in bounties, or new players, but i might be interested inseveral market items, or something else. And of course it would be absolutely great to sit there and look a this beautiful pair of ****:
- But the main problem for me, i guess, is that this expansion does not add anithing really new in terms of activities. Yes, it's great for new players, who just start, it's great for CCP, and all of this is good, but i was like "oh... ok."

CCP should create a survey or poll for Incarna features and every expansion here out right on their website and client log screen ads. Youll get a better perspective of how your product is doing from the entire player base. Ask some real questions based on these posts and the overall reception of Incarna.

Let's talk about immersion. Every time i leave the POD, my body goes through a process not very pleasant (If I'm right in the capsule is liquid, NO?), So go through this process several times a day, let's say 10 times x 2, coz Once you have left the POD, you need at some point to go back, and that would be 20 times a day for example. Please tell me if a person who is in their right mind could do this 20 times a day, only to drop what is in the ship, or just to change that ship.
So for God Sake, let us to decide when, and for what we need to leave the ship. |

While the new turret effects are cool (though some hate them) I have a big problem with the new icons for them. They all have a similar look that makes it hard to distinguish what they are for (not a good thing at all). Also the colors are so dark they are even harder to see, especially when targeting and the backdrop is dark (like space - derrr).
Anyway I hope this can be addressed... have heard many people with the same complaint.

Edited by: shar Depran on 27/06/2011 19:04:12 Dearest CCP,
Sorry for my earlier insults about script kiddies on crack let loose with crayons begging daddy to include their latest mindless creation in their so much vaunted INCARNA upgrade.
Well no IÆm not really, truth is this upgrade is totally pointless, degrades game play to the point one wonders why you continue logging in at all and to listen and read some of the arrogant crud being spouted by CCP as they try to spin off this obvious money grab because a few spotty faced trolls bought monocles is sickening in the extreme.
The fact that so many players have not only experienced severe problems with the station graphics since this upgrade in the form of poorly written code which to be quite frank smacks of early Duke Nukem, that there are grave concerns about the use CCP intend for this æNEWÆ retail outlet of there creation and all the miriade of other complaints should maybe have begun to sink in that this turn the game is taking is one the overall majority of the EVE community does not want or need forced upon them.
As such I would propose a simple fix for this, it would allow those of us, the majority by the way, to continue to enjoy the game in all itÆs many facets, and those of us that feel the desperate need for trinkets to co-exist, a simple turn it off button, which like almost every other aspect of EVE would allow the former group, and those that eventually come to their senses to remove this updates worst features, those involved with the stations and return to the original format.
If thatÆs not possible, and I can hear the spin already, then leave it just as it is, players staring at a door, still having there GPUÆs overheating until finally like so many before them they just log off and sign out from EVE.
And may the force be with you, especially that of the CEOÆs boot as you get fired, bunch of ignorant muppetÆs.

It just occurred to me that you folks used the same code that you navigate a ship with in CQ to move the player about and I suspect a hacked version of the same code for CQ environment itself as well. EPIC fail. I surely hope you're not using this for DUST. It's no wonder the player interface is so horribly clumsy and the system resource requirements are so ridiculous. Without a proper FPS engine powering all this CQ will not succeed. With all your macro-payment transactions you've decided are going to be core to Eve gameplay surely you could go license the Unreal engine or something.

i have to strongly agree here. The new turret icons do not match the classic art direction of the icons for everything else in the game, this is major fail on behalf of the art department.

I've been playing in EVE off and on (mostly on) since June 2003. This update...wow, trying to be polite here...
Okay. The first term that comes to mind is "sucketh the big one".
1. CQ is currently useless. Yes its a "first step". Of course in the world of software, that equals: "You are now beta testing something not ready for primetime".
2. For a new player, this WOULD be a nice thing if it weren't so laggy/buggy/hardware crippling, as the NPE is really sweet, but after that...not so much. You have taken away ease of use (the hangar) and replaced it with bobbing head dolls of the WOW/Evercrack 3rd person silliness ilk.
My concept of "VR world" is obviously not what most "gamers" think of. I want to look out at the world through my virtual eyes...NOT stare at the back of my head. I GET 3rd person view when it comes to the ship, but when I get out of the pod, I'd like to NOT lose the immersion by seeing some cartoony figure bobbin' about on the screen.
Oh and thanks for blowing game continuity with CQ as well. We're in goo pods. But docking as it is currently negates all of the ingame lore/history/mechanics. Looks cute, but...where oh WHERE is the pod process we saw at FF awhile back? hmmmmmmm? -now THAT CQ would have been awesome...just sayin'.
On that subject, this has the look/n/feel of a seriously rushed out the door bugfest. I have to right click to exit a ship...but I'm obviously IN MY QUARTERS. Same issues with clone jumping and such. How this could have been overlooked bodes ill for what ELSE lies beneath the hood of the game.
2. System resources and fps are crud when in CQ. nuff said as its already been said multiple times.
3. Rest of the update? Where are the promised fixes to just tons of stuff that needs fixing? Where are the updates to FW? 0.0/lowsec? and the list goes on and on.
This patch/update feels like what it probably is...a beta test for other games, and THAT is a deep disappointment for this longtime player.
You asked.

Since most things have been said (maybe even these), and my bug report is still waiting for reply, here are a couple of things with CQ that aren't game-breaking but annoying:
- Corp recruitment panel doesn't let you filter by roleplay, which is a pretty big oversight.
- Movement is clumsy, easiest way for me I found was to hold down left mouse button while walking and use that as a mouselook, but that's a sure ticket to carpal tunnel syndrome. Mouselook toggle would be nice, thank you very much.
- Text on the screen in the wall isn't clear enough to read, no matter the distance or detail level. Rolling text on top and bottom is readable, but the info text in the middle is not. Even if it is Minmatar CQ, you'd think they'd have HD displays.
- No shower or other hygiene stuff? Where does all that pod goo go? (this is not a gameplay feature, this is immersion!) Also, I can't lounge on my bed.
- I can't zoom out enough to be comfortable, one more level of zoom and I'd be happy. Also, camera always defaults to the closest zoom available. I get claustrophobic.

Edited by: Voxinian on 28/06/2011 10:43:54 I can see the potential of the indoor station environment it will increase the immersion, atm it is very very boring as I can't do anything other then the things I already can do with the HUD menu's. The quarters needs more stuff. It lags to much (compared to space environment), hope that will be improved. Also the character movement is a bit awkward. An option to lock the camera and then move around might help.
Idea's for the quarters:
Food replicator. Buying food from the replicator and eating it with a nice animation will give you a short boost in skill training speeds. Some food will boost charisma, other food willpower and so on (limited/timed use only). The more skill points you have the more ineffective the boost will be. Great for new players thus.
Virtual slot machine/gamble mini games. Love to see something like that in my quarters to kill time and at the same time maybe increase my wealth... or lose some of it :)
Virtual pet/drone: Some interaction would be welcome, a virtual pet could be nice :)
_______
And the thing I miss the most is still not being able to create sub folders in the item inventory. Even when you sort everything and stack it it often is still a big blur of items. Being able to create a folder for ammo/weapons/minerals etcetera would be great. Looking forward to be able to do that.
