Repair failed again, even after deleting all the files that were apparently corrupt, then running repair tool.

I give up, sick of wasting my life/money/time trying to fix all your bull**** only to play a game that is getting progressively worse..
Why is it that each distribution that comes around I have more and more trouble patching/installing it? newish pvp pilot looking for a corp! (9m SP) |

Originally by: serv Puell Vjorn Angannon i was getting the same error. After 3 downloads of the patch. I now have a working client.
This is what i did as a last ditched attempt
i downloaded a new repair tool from this link http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/324/repair.exe
I went to the eve client program installation and deleted the old repair tool. Then copied and pasted the new tool into the folder.
I then ran the repair tool. This brought down about gig of data. i then launched the client without any problems.
This is the developer blog on using the repair tool Linkage
Not happy with ccp's response to this issue
Repair tool link seems to be dead... :(
Still don't have the client installed GRRR!

@ Thom Baron, yes that link does seem to be broken; however, I think I found another link to the repair tool....altho it is an older version. It is my understanding that the tool will update itself tho????
It is getting late for me so I may not try the suggestions out tonight. However, I'll come back here to report my success/failure when done.
@ CCP, I'd still like to hear from ya'll...
Thanks, I figured as much - I've already tried repairing from numerous versions of the repair tool, so I doubt I will gain any new results from downloading a different (if it is different) repairer...
EHHHH still no eve client. I think this is all a conspiracy to prevent me logging into eve because I complained about monocle prices.

Me too - and ditto Lukas Ignateus as well. I am feeling very lost and lonely in the universe.
Bump!
Still not a single word from CCP on this matter

Can anyone get me a copy of repair tool 3.23?
CCP are you out there?
Anyone?
Originally by: Vjorn Angannon References: Post 6 This leads backwards towards the beginning of my trek for a successful (FINALLY) installation.
Quick recap: Attempted auto-patcher 9 times Attempted manual patch 6 times Uninstalled working copy of EVE and attempted full Client install 4 times Attempted downloading the installer and separate packages/installing 2 times Attempted suggestion from Mr Pikey
Each and every attempt resulted in failure with exact same message from the repair tool (v3.24).
Traceback (most recent call last): File "repairTool\progressPanel.pyc", line 97, in _TaskRun File "repairTool\repairUI.pyc", line 77, in Start File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 147, in Repair File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 187, in Restore File "zsync\zsync.pyc", line 151, in RestoreFile ValueError: too many values to unpack Total Runtime: 0h00m23s
Thought about serv Puell's suggestion, and remembered that I still had a pre-carbon full copy of EVE installed.
Renamed folder to proper path, launched repair tool, noticed it was v3.23. When popup window asked me if I wanted to upgrade the repair tool, I clicked ****** NO ******. (VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!)
End result: Successful installation.
Bottom line from my experiences the past few days....the repair tool v3.24 is borked! Repair Tool v3.23 works!
CCP, if you want to do a small part in regaining your seriously damaged reputation, you will provide a link to the repair tool v.3.23 on the front page of this thread so other folks can have a chance at a successful installation.

The post that people suggest using link to new Repair exe program is not available anymore. I have tried to re download the entire EVE game again but still getting loads of "data package files are corrupt" messages and back and forth with repair program that cant fix it and FAILS.

Any ideas?
there's quite a few of us with the same problem.
CCP have still not even acknowledged it's existence - I guess they're hoping they can take our money for days that we're not able to play or something ridiculous to make up for lack of monocle sales.

Edited by: Thom Baron on 26/06/2011 07:55:06 Dearest CCP, venerable **nts.
You still have not acknowledged the fact that for many people the installer is corrupt and the repair tool fails continuously. The fact that you still have yet to even acknowledge this issue means I will not be resubbing unless you pull a proverbial rabbit out of your proverbial hat/boots/monocle.
