I've found it in the current build but according to the dev blog on multiple clients and low end machines you will be removing it. Why would I want to drain power from the wall generating station environments? |

while nice and all, multiboxing for marketing is not good.

Totally agreed, this needs to stay. Best off I'd like an old environment, but there needs to be an option to keep my fans spinning nice and slowly.

Signed in triplicate.
A lot of players care more about performance over immersion. Keep the option to turn station environment off.

Edited by: Chuckles Beeshaw on 22/06/2011 03:17:23 agreed, please let us keep the ability to disable cq
i know myself, and a ton of others that would literally not be able to play if forced to use cq. before patch my gpu was at about 55*c in station, now it hits up to 81*c with low settings, 100% fans in adaptive power mode. there is not a game out there that has made my card anywhere close to that hot, ever. not worth risking hardware just to play a game if thats what its coming to, and from what ive gathered im not alone there

I'd love the option to stay in the ship after docking, perhaps in the old hangar mode, and have the option to leave the ship IF and WHEN I want to go to CQ.

While my laptop can handle the station environment nicely it'd be nice to have the option of loading the station or not.

Yea I greatly miss ship spinning, and I can very easily handle the game in fancy capped out graphics, but I can't run CQ on the lowest settings to save my computers life. It's honestly bad, just all around.

Agreed. I have no love for the new station environment and it makes quickly swapping and tinkering with ships an absolute pain.

Same. My specs are not top of the line... but I'm noticing that my computer is running at an average of 55'C even on the lowest graphic settings. CoD: BC 2 on max settings doesn't even make my computer run THAT hot. _______________________

Yeah the option to not load station environment needs to stay, people with low end computers won't be to happy without it. But in addition I think CCP should add on to the option at least make a larger hologram of your ship that just spins around like there are in the captain's quarters. I mean come on its either lag up the computer or stare at a wall forever.

its not only ppl with old hw, i have a dicent rig set up i5 750 , 4gb ram , hd5850 and while when runing 1 client things are smooth , when runing my alt too (2nd client) i have a major fps drop . + the loading times on dock and dock .. i thik this has been a downgrade and not an upgrade of use expirience . the cq have nothing to offer but eye cundy , so it should be optional to turn it on or of .. i want the old hangar style back .. turning the station invirment off is stupid .. ship selection is stupid in cq ( no more drug and drop ) and avatar grafics seems to be low textured is comparison with the char maker ... so plz make the cq optional and make the old station inviroment available again .

I say that is a brilliant idea!
Untill other matters of importance are achievable in station Cq is a waste of cpu and annoying.

Agreed. I just made a post saying the same but I'll jump on this main thread as well. Not only would it stop people who don't like Incarna being upset; it makes more sense.
They've made references to CQ being like dingy motels. That means that you should be able to visit a station, recharge your cap, get fittings etc without ever "booking a room".
In a nutshell. Put spinny ships back and add Captain's Quarters as a station panel button.

Options to add to game not affecting balance.
"disable all additions that do not directly affect pvp and pve" cough cough
Thanks, that would be grreat.
Thus we solve at least one issue with lagh and server load. well probably not.

If we become forced to load the CQ I will quit EVE for real. Can barley manage 2 clients in space with static wall on the rest of my accounts already...

First off, theres actually an option to do what you wanted, dear Author.
Second, you won't be able to do this in the future, since there's no Incarna and Eve: There's only eve - and incarna belongs to it, like your lung or your heart to your body.

Just posted on an associated topic of CQ. I agree with most points here. My system is not bad 86_64 dual core, 4 Gb ram etc.but as I run EVE under Linux things have slowed down a lot. Switching off the station environment helps but the static screen really depresses me, brown, ugly and not at all what I would choose. If anyone remembers Ubuntu when first released they will get the picture. The thought of removing the option to switch the station environment worries me a bit.
