Since Incarna came out there has been some new stupid noise that keeps cropping up when im in combat. I guess its something to do with the turrets. If im at a mid zoom range i just get this ANOYING as hell sound repeatedly, constantly. and its really starting to grate me now, in part becuase i dont even know what its supposed to be!!
Can this sound please be identidief, and also can sum1 give me the filename SO I CAN DELETE THE THING!
Am i not the only one getting grated by this sound?

A new noise I noticed is the sound of small turrets on NPCs. Maybe that?

I found the same issue until I realized I was in combat in a stationed system and that sound was all the pilots passing out in the CQ's when they saw the pricing in the noble exchange.

Gonna have to help us out a bit here.
Which NPCs are you fighting, what ship, what fittings, what Drones?
I noticed that my Hammerheads were making some rather interesting noises when they fired, so I'd suspect that's probably what's grating on your nerves.

It is the sound of your motherboard cooling off since you are now undocked. All that creaking and popping as it forms back into its normal shape.

using my abaddon with mega beam lasers, fighting angel cartel, machariels and others, mainly the machs making the noise though. using hammerhead drones also. i dont hear the noise if i zoom right into my ship, but i zoom to mid range and then this 'mechanical sound thing' just dominates the speakers.

All Gallente drones have new (and identical) firing sound effects. That very well may be your issue.

well, to counter the semi negativeness of this thread, I like what they did with the noctis =p kinda like adding its hardpoints finally!

Yeah that was news to me too, I thought Pandora was what gave it sound, guess I was wrong. Currently Eve is playing "I love this bar" mabey that comes out in the next big patch.

The problem I'm having is, after I kill some rats in a belt the garbled comm noises from them don't stop. It does get annoying. But then, the mining lasers only making a sound when completing a cycle is a nice touch.
