apparently CCP employees cant say anything for fear of losing there job.. otherwise I am POSITIVE we would have gotten a response by now. In this topic I would like everyone to post ALTERNATIVE MMO GAMES to go to if this all goes the way we are left to imagine it will do to the lack of response.
There is Everquest Everquest 2 World of Warcraft
thats all i know of that dont have items you can buy to have an advantage over everone else. WoW has items you can buy but they dont mess with gameplay.. So what you guys got?

Moved from General Discussion:
Games other than EVE Online can be discussed in Out of Pod Experience and ONLY in Out of Pod Experience. Rule 17 of the EVE Online forums will remain in effect in all of the other forums; Out of Pod Experience is the only place where discussions focused on other games can take place. So, there need to be a few ground rules:

Downolading Runes of Magic, atm. Seems good for fantasy lovers, and it's free. As far as I know, there is also vanity item shop, but who cares, the game is free! If there are more people interested, contact me, I'd like to have some company there. :D
I hope it will work fine until I find a job, earn some money, and buy a new laptop which will be able to run Incarna.

The prob is not the lack of MMOs but the lack of sci-fi/space-based MMOs. Eve had the market there.
MY fav game of all time: Privateer. Why? because it was a precursor to EVE.
Same with Microsoft's Freelancer...but they failed to support the MMO part of the game.
Star Trek Online is too genre oriented. Nice to play but I get tired of the cliche Star Trek world fast.
The only other game I am looking forward to is SW-KOTOR.
Hopefully they wont **** that one up too bad when it comes out. ----- A word from John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment -wiki |

I don't know any other good sci-fi game, unfortunately. EvE is the best one imo. But, well... it's my fault that I don't have better laptop. :(

Unless those rich kids know how to play, if and when MT's for items that can be used in combat, becomes a reality, they will lose them just as fast as those rich kids that bought high SP pilots after selling GTC's and lost large ships in the past.

I'm sure there's more.

**** MMO's atm, they are all the same no matter what genre.
No what you want is Dwarf Fortress, build you own epic fortress and be sure to have blood and guts every where after each every battle, pure awesome.
It's also quite ruthless, the amount of different ways you can lose is quite big... like getting all you men eaten by a freakin cave croc (face palm).
...also DF should work a bit more on graphics, currently they are a bit behind current standards

battlestar galactica online is F2P with cash shop, but so far the cash shop offers little/no advantage to players, in fact everything can be acquired with a little hard work in game Cylons needs more players so please pick that side before it becomes " hi colonials always win everyone log out"

I have to say Privateer is my all time favorite as well. You gotta love the intro. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgquhTjX1ag Great memories! (It runs perfectly on Dosbox btw).

Best game evar:
Real Life You don't get to re-roll if you die, and it's a complete open world environment with sandbox like mechanics. There is no leveling, but there is some griding for money. Very similar to EVE in some respects since you can do whatever it is you want, but less artificial restrictions on what you can do. There are a number of races you can play, but you'll be locked in on your account because there are no alts allowed. Pretty much every hard core EVE player's dream.
Seriously, you all should consider trying it out, it's awesome. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |

Hehe. There are many things I would like to do in RL MMO such as going on camping and walking trips with women. But my computer room is my RL level 1 default option.

I know some shops that will sell you upgrades, but it's not cheap, RMT is kinda frowned upon (but not illegal) in the game. - [SERVICE] Corp Standings For POS anchoring |
