Okay, joking aside and on to the serious part:
Goodwill is used up, no faith left in CCP The community showed during the last years a lot of faith and goodwill towards CCP. :18 months: and :excellence: just to name two of them. Nothing much changed, it got worse actually.
Feels like there is no loyality from CCP towards EVE When the most dedicated players, who invest tons and tons of their free time to develops 3rd party apps are forced to pay $99 just so that they are still allowed to spend their time helping the community ... that is a major breach of loyality from CCP. Even backapddling didn't restore that broken loyality. Oh, and of course CCP CEO Hilmar, calling the EVE players some "whiners" didn't really help either, though props for that honest opinion.
Lies and lost trust The EVE community were told over and over again that some things won't happen, just to find out that a year or two later exactly those things DID happen and were already planned at the time it was told such things wouldn't come, ever. Some example is the no-MT in EVE from couple years ago. And some bigger example is "only vanity items in EVE, ever" while the lead game designer already plans for heavily gameplay influencing things. How can the players trust CCP again?
Loss of communication Communication was never such a big strength of CCP. But it is worse than ever. Devs aren't talking about their plans on the forums any more, no discussion beforehand. If there is discussion, then it is too late, the features already set and nothing can be changed. From the internal newsletter it seems that (some) Devs are actually afraid of posting their ideas on the forums and engaging in an open discussion. Why? The CSM also complains about some departments not talking to them AT ALL. Why?
The players LOVE Eve Overwhelming most players love EVE and are very passionate about their game. Why is CCP looking for some other playerbase then? Because the current playerbase isn't good enough as it seems.
The Devs and most of CCP are disconnected from EVE CCP and it seems many Devs are obviously completely disconnected from EVE. They don't know what the players want, they don't know what the players are thinking. They don't know what EVE makes so special any more (all they know is empty catch phrases). The Devs don't know how EVE is working, how deeply the universe is connected and what things effects others.
No, this is not about NEX prices, this is not about stupid monocles.
This is about EVE and how we players love it and how CCP is destroying. |
