Progress would be: Remove CQ and everything planned after that. The performance hit alone to everything in-game is justification. Take EVE Online back to it's roots. Keep Dust and WoD and WiZ and WoZ and whatever you want to call the next money-sink out of EVE. You (CCP) had something good here and now, in the interest of expanding into more markets, have thrown everything into a blender with the idea that all of the ingredients, and more of them, is better.
I'll post the rant separately. {WC}PistolPete "...going to take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up..." Homer Simpson |

If it weren't for them, Zynga wouldn't have made Farmville and shown the entire industry the profitability of MT. Once you get that taste for blood, all the objections in this world won't matter.
Face it fellow capsuleers, even if they lose every vet here, they'll still make money hand over fist from the guys who have more money than sense.

You're a well-respected player and podcaster, but please show me this 'reaching out' you speak of. All I see is failed damage control spin.
Pann has been with CCP quite a while, I have met her face to face in Brighton and spoken to her online with the WDA crew. When you send Pann out to talk to the playerbase, you are being deadly serious about the issue.

Not acceptable to CCP, but then the current client base no longer seems acceptable to them. No smiley on this one CCP.

Originally by: SerialTurd I'm an old school gamer. Been playing games since wolfensein 3d, doom, heretic etc. In my eyes gaming has gone down hill in the past couple years (since consoles really) but rather than turn this into a console bashing thread I'll say what I wanted to say.
CCP in my eyes has generally been an "old school" company in that their business model is what the old school devs did for their games. CCP went in different directions from everyone else in the market.
Instead of a grinding xp based system, they went with a time based system Instead of multi sharded servers, they went with a single shard, etc etc etc
Now we have this 180 degree turn and the things we all hate in other games are being added into eve. MT are evil. Gaming companies do it and force it upon us. The only reason I think they are remotely successfully with MT is because today's generation of gamers who didn't play original games when gaming first came about have no clue that this is evil and are shelling out mommy/daddy's money for crap such as DLC.
CCP, you've put probably one of the worst changes you could possibly do to EVE in game. You've now gone down the path that all other companies have gone down where as in the past you did things differently to stand out.
Is this CCP's NGE (Star wars galaxies reference)?? It may very well be.
+1. Doom is on my laptop right at this moment. One day I'll pull out the editor and correct the corrupted map I made of my house (before renovation). I should have some time as I won't be playing EVE. {WC}PistolPete "...going to take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up..." Homer Simpson |

I dont think they have
They have and they've (select one):- run from the building screaming
- are in the process of committing suicide (please don't J/K here)
- laying catatonic in a corner of the room until the bad world goes away
- are actively trying to overthrow the greedy mother****ers that have infiltrated CCP's very core

For those not familiar with the term:
Quote: par+ley verb \ˈpSr-lē\
par+leyed par+ley+ing Definition of PARLEY: intransitive verb : to speak with another : confer; specifically : to discuss terms with an enemy
Merriam-Webster FTW.
Poor choice of words CCP Pann. Sorry, not risking my main work computer, or any of my computers for that matter, to damaging coding anymore. Yes, your (CCP's) recurring subscription got me just before the whole CarbonUI fiasco. Now that CQ's here, coupled with a document where what should never even have been brought up as an idea is now supposed to be the new business model (MT for in-game WIN), the camel's back is broken.

Did the CSM start this? NO.
Does the CSM write the code? NO.
Then why must we 1) Wait for the CSM to be called upon to fix an internal exercise turned nightmare and 2) craptastic game features that can literally harm computer hardware?
CCP doesn't have to tell the CSM anything. Even if the CSM learned of something they are gagged by the Non-Disclosure Agreement that offers up real-world penalties for virtual world rewrites.
Would you risk a heavy fine or jail time because you found out a gaming company decided to change direction?

Reinvent game. Slow-but-steady income killed in favor of quick-grab P2W. $ony buys out CCP and gets their own quick-cash infusion until the next big hit (Dust/WoD). Support then pulled for initial cash-cow which was considered an acceptable loss since all developers can now stop working with ancient coding/architecture/hardware and be devoted reassigned to the new cash-cows.

Time, according to theoretical physicist Julian Barbour it definitely does not exist. Instead, there is a series of "eternal nows" each seperate from the other with their own seperate configuration. It's the relationship between these seperate nows that create the illusion of time, similar to how a movie is a sequence of still shots but the illusion of continuous motion is created because the stills are shot at a speed greater than what our eye can detect.
Part of where this comes up is with the unification of General Relativity with Quantum Mechanics. They have such different ideas of time that, according to Julian, the only way to create a marriage between the two is to say there is no time. This is represented in the Wheeler-Dewitt Equation, which has a property "known as timelessness. The reemergence of time requires the tools of decoherence and clock operators."
So, basically CCP should just change to a different NOW NOW and all will be fine.
Since I haven't had my coffee: +1

Originally by: Lyris Nairn I like how this thread is now 400+ pages and that it has now lost its focus.
No focus lost, it' still mostly people waiting for CCP to respond to the first series of questions. Of course now that CCP brought the CSM back to the table we have to "wait" for the answer for "a few more days".
They answered the Sony rumor pretty damn quickly. You know there is legal justification for that. If there's a deal in the works under any NDA they have to deny it. If there is no deal they have to verify that immediately so Sony doesn't sue their pants for riding on the coat heels of an acquisition rumor.
What they do in-house the don't need to answer for.
Incarna/CQ sucks. It is breaking computers. Fact. GPU and CPU usage almost maxed running one client. Minimizing that client does not reduce the load. GPU and CPU temps maxing out. Years ago there was a bad graphics implementation that CCP admitted to. I lost a $300 video card to that but after the issue was resolved, continued to play because EVE was just that good. My main computer is now used primarily for work, EVE was it's secondary use. I can't risk losing it to poor coding especially since content, bug fixes and performance are really sub-par for a game that requires a subscription.
I used to run COD:MW2 and three instances of EVE on this computer up until about six months ago. If I tried that today I think I'd be back on my fallback computer ordering a new laptop to replace this one. Not worth the risk.
Incarna/CQ was also designed to introduce features to EVE <JMHO> that will ultimately be game breaking if carried to the logical conclusion (Pay 2 Win).</JMHO>
JMHO.

Troll. Read the rest of the .pdf and email. It's not about NeX prices, it's about the can of worms that's been opened for play to win. The vocal crowd here is mostly comprised of those with some serious time invested in the game. Years upon years. What has been debated, suggested and, according to the .pdf, email and Zulu's first failblog, is that the NeX system will ultimately progress into a pay-to-win market. A logical progression of that would also be the ultimate removal of the ISK market and pay-to-play subscriptions in favor of pay-to-win. A pay-to win model would destroy the game as ma ny have known it and make it worthless to them.
And why are you afraid to use Hilmar's name in a quote? True troll fail. Or are you a CCP shill?
