I don't understand why CCP can't work out why MT's on ships, modules, ammo, skillpoints etc is a complete contridiction on gameplay mechanics?
If you can buy Skillpoints, there is no point in training skills, why should some one day old noob be able to buy up 100 mil worth of skillpoints and have that advantage over other players which have shown years of devoted commitment.
Same goes with Ships, Modules and Ammo. Who will feel the need to manufacter these things if these MT's are implemented?
I was disappointed when agent quality got the boot, and if you enable players to pay for faction standing there is no point in running missions.
I like many others here have not actively participated in the forums until today.
Please don't make anymore of your players feel obsolete.
"Do not fly what you cannot afford to lose." You are taking away the very essence of that by even considering implementing the MT's.
AUR for Vanity items ONLY.
It is very clear the EVE Online community is not interested in the implementation of Micro-Transactions.
All hail the Threadnaught!

Originally by: Catrisane Never Write Off Your Existing Customers: The so-called New Game Experience was announced on November 2 with no warning, and was scheduled to go live two weeks later. Although SWG had an extensive "correspondent program" that attempted to streamline communication about game development and player opinions between Sony Online Entertainment and the customers, the changes came as a complete surprise. (The story was first broken at the gamer site f13.net.)
What this suggests to me was that folks at LucasArts and Sony were concerned enough about player reaction to the changes to try to postpone a negative reaction, but not concerned enough to try to sell the changes. SWG senior director Nancy MacIntyre of LucasArts in the NYT: "We knew we were taking a significant risk with our existing player base, but we felt so strongly that we needed to make these changes for the sake of the game's long-term future that we all held hands, LucasArts and Sony, and went forward." There was no real attempt to hold the customers' hands.
LucasArts and SOE may have thought that such an effort would be a lost cause; they knew they were taking the game in a direction unlikely to please many of their current customers. What they clearly did not plan for was a furor that would lead to account cancellations and, worse, rapidly spreading word of mouth, with disgruntled players only too happy to contribute to the toxic buzz in the media. By treating their existing customers as loose cannons rather than engaging them in the redesign process, LucasArts and SOE fueled the backlash they feared.
Vogel says MMOG owners do well to admit their mistakes. ôWin over your community so that they are forgiving of you when you really screw up,ö he said. He also gave some advice about distracting the players when making a change to the game, not answering controversies that arise, as it just feeds them, and not taking too seriously the forum rants of hardcore players, who don't represent the silent majority. You can get feedback from the quieter majority, however, by simply administering surveys. However, the hardcore, verbal players are the people who generate word of mouth marketing, Vogel admits, ôso keep them happy, too.ö
The key is to engage your customers, not avoid them.
Copied from an article discussing SWG and the NGE nearly 7 years ago, couldn't help noticing a few similiarities.
absolutely. When the new experience allowed jedi as a class you could start with... I was shell shocked, I had been working on becoming a jedi for many months before hand after trying all sorts of different professions, and then they just dumbed the game down. Now they threaten to do that with microtransactions in eve.

Inform me. It better be good, otherwise the stupidity of mankind has reached a new low. We're all conflict-seeking bastard sons of Ares.
1. it's "Helicity"
I believe it was Helicity who initially leaked the newsletter... (someone correct if wrong)
It was mostly this that got her perma-banned.
Interesting... Tech 3 damage control module in action. The reasons behind the ban were clearly "political".
Seemed like they may have been trying a bit of entrapment & became frustrated when Helicity didn't bite so just jammed the ban in anyways. The transcript aint the whole story but it looks pretty ugly & damning for CCP! Can they do anything right anymore - I'm starting to think they may have had a curse put on them.

Please stop calling for CSM, and asking CCP about it if you keep asking that, they (CCP) will do that, take the shortest/easyest route and comunicate just with CSM. Sorry CSM dudes, i didn't vote for any of you (like what 70% of eve players?)and yet find your role important, BUT not now, now is too late.. CCP has to answer the WHOLE playerbase not just some restricted (both in numbers AND in what they can tell) group of people, and tbh they have to answer fast. PR (in this case dmg control) works fine when used in the right moment, that moment is almost over

You hit the nail on the head CCP PR. The issue is that people like myself now have less time in eve online due to a purely cosmetic change to the game.
I can't play eve on my laptop because what should be an optional feature 'CQ' is a mandatory one.
Also, the graphical choices for turrets are awful, I can never tell if my ACs are active on a target or not anylonger. A white border around the icon would be enough.
If I wanted a game that featured clear and obvious gains in PvE for microtransactions I'd play a game like DDO. And to be honest, I'm strongly considering leaving eve online, as this seems to be the straw breaking the camal's back.
I've loved eve for nearly 4 years now. And this is the first time a major expansion has seriously had me consider leaving the game.
Please clean up your act CCP, 0.0 is largely broken, sov warfare is broken, supercapitals are broken. For a 4 year old player like me there are few options.
Go fight in large super cap blobs to play in a sov system that is frankly horrific, or go do small gang stuff in 0.0 for frankly small rewards compared to large risk. Smaller fleets need a means of annoying larger alliances, say damaging upgrades to IHUB systems or something.
Please make eve usable on my laptop again CCP, I'd hate to only be able to play eve certain times of the week.

Originally by: Doc Fury @CCP What is the CSM for if you are not going to communicate transparently with them? When you do, it seems only to be paying lip service, and not actually addressing what are supposed to be our concerns as players/customers. I've always thought of the CSM as a sham, but you sure like to beat your chest about it and how transparent you are to us via these so called representatives. Not sure how I'd feel right now if I were one of them, betrayed, or used like a tool perhaps.
I'm fairly certain if the CSM members can see copies of the fearless mag when they walk through the CCP offices, they likely have access to the internal newsletter. However, the CSM is gagged with a NDA and not aware of the high level decisions being made... as a body they are of questionable value in a situation like this. They can funnel debate when they know what's going on but when they're as blindsided as the rest of us? It's just more fuel on the fire.
CCP knows the answer, the player base knows the answer. MT for game altering items is in the works. CCP would have stopped this thread on page (what was it? 66 when we last saw a CCP dev let us know he was still reading?). CCP may look over this uproar and change their vision but past events have shown that to be damned unlikely.

Originally by: Chribba In on page awesome!
And with the risk of repeating what others said in the previous 100+ pages...
For me, having had the honor of following CCP from a very early stage, seeing how developers worked tightly with players to progress forward I'm _NOT_ suprised one bit over the view from CCP, as it was just a matter of time, after all you are a company, with the goal to make money (unlike most 3rd party developers in our community *hint hint* ) - so I'm not going to try and argue with you(CCP) on that note.
From my point of view, you're(once again CCP) is trying to save face by like not telling us what you have in mind in the fear of players leaving, and I think from most of the players view we only want you to be honest.
By lying to us, or "modifying the truth" you are seriously just stepping on our trust. Sure, honest will most likely lead to players leaving as well, but how CCP has presented itself in recent time isn't really giving any kudos in my book anyway. Be honest and we get mad, but you will still have our faith and trust, lie to us and we will be mad and not eager to give you anything, which tbh only gives you bad PR.
Now I don't claim knowing much about PR or how to run a company your size, but the general "hmm" tells me that being honest and losing 1000 paying customers would be better in the long run than lying and losing 500 players now and get a really bad PR event.
I think CCP is awesome, and I have nothing but faith for you guys since you are doing an outstanding job for us, but I must say, your communication has serious flaws, and it has not always been like that, maybe you grew to fast and it's understandable that it was easier to communicate with us when there was 20,000 people, compared to the what 500,000+ now?
But remember, in the end, we are paying your salary with our subscriptions. Talk to us, that is what we want, we want to feel a part of how New Eden progresses, be it with or without buying Monocle's instead of our Armani watches, we want to be a part of at least trying to push it in the right direction - not getting fed with lies and general "what we think you want to hear"-statements.
Keep up the awesome job, and that goes to ALL CCP employees, we want nothing but to be a part of the epicness you create.

I can't add much more, but CCP needs to guarantee no MT's will affect ANYTHING other than some silly boots and the pain on my Drake. The newsletter needs to be addressed in the most significant way.
It's alarming that CCP still doesn't 'get' what the issues are.
All 4 of my accounts are cancelled until CCP redeems themselves.
I love EVE but I don't want the game going in the direction CCP is taking it.
It's ironic that Fearless is exactly what CCP isn't being. They're being Careless with their own solidly established player base. What they should be is Fearless when it comes to the financial model of their games and not coming to the conclusion that MT's are the only model that are going to work going forward. That's anything but Fearless CCP, but go ahead and tell yourselves that falling in line with the rest of the gaming world is fearless.

The war on lag is being won, less players = less ships in space to lag up the systems!
It's unlikely that anyone will read this but:
I've invested a lot of money and time in this hobby, I run three accounts and they are all PLEXed up for now. What happens next is important, very important. Imagine what life will be like with no EVE. What will you do? What will happen to all of those relationships you have with people? All of us sat there at night talking on TS we are only held together by EVE (and minecraft, and LOL). I wouldn't know some good people if it wasn't for this game.
You may be the publishers but you have to realise that you are dealing with the place that 40-50000 people WANT TO BE at any given time. We speak you listen we pay. That's the only way the equation works, it's supply and demand. Who demanded a monocle?

The Aurum is here to reduce PLEXes, Dr.Eyjo already said, they were somewhat bad for the market. In this regard, i expected to get high prices,he needed a tool to"... may or may not influence the plex market in the future".
What really angers me, is, they kept this(big change) under the rug. They kept the CSM out of the loop, or gagged them by NDA. And over the past year, just lied to us.

resubscribed after over a year off eve mainly for game vision issues I have with the game, came back mostly through loyalty to friends still playing, and CCP making changes to their gaming vision for 0.0 ie jump bridges, player interaction etc Resub'd 2 accounts
2-3months down the line cancelled 1 account hovering over cancelling the 2nd. This game hasn't been worth the effort for a long long time.
