I don't usually post a lot except on the internal CSM-CCP forums. So I'd like to share my point of view on the whole thing with you: http://meissaanunthiel.blogspot.com/. Let me just say I'm fairly annoyed.
I'll obviously post more when we have more information.

I rise up from Reykjavik My fury is sublime The sword I bring burns violently With wild and lethal flames
I march against the Community To bring the end of time I am pure and endless pain And "MT" is my name
See me rise, the mighty Lie Destroyer of the universe Bringer of flames and endless hurt Scorcher of vows and truth
Helicity with .pdf in hand Rises to his final stand He doesn't stand a single chance I'll split his living corpse in half
And yet he stabbed me in the eye He drove the .pdf in deep The overwhelming, raging pain Is driving me insane

Originally by: Xia Long Please stop calling for CSM, and asking CCP about it if you keep asking that, they (CCP) will do that, take the shortest/easyest route and comunicate just with CSM. Sorry CSM dudes, i didn't vote for any of you (like what 70% of eve players?)and yet find your role important, BUT not now, now is too late.. CCP has to answer the WHOLE playerbase not just some restricted (both in numbers AND in what they can tell) group of people, and tbh they have to answer fast. PR (in this case dmg control) works fine when used in the right moment, that moment is almost over
I will not. You might not appreciate the CSM or feel that they have helped you in the past, but since we are just spamming a very important thread, I have more confidence in the CSM than us spamming useless drivel to get attention (excluding the +500 very good posts here)

Needs to be seen. CCP READ IT FFS.
Self-indulgent crap. It's so much simpler: - CQ removed functionality we were used to and it runs poorly; isn't cool enough to justify those things - New items are too expensive, which comes off as both inept and insulting - Patch broke a variety of things like implants, skill bonuses, module bonuses, etc. - New content too far afield of the game's core: spaceship combat. CCP is using its work on WoD to appear to create new content for Eve, though it's just them re-purposing what they were making anyway and it's not really relevant - Plan for MT content threatens player run economy, specifically in the realm of non-vanity item manufacture
That's the meat of it. Everything else about the "lie" and the "memo" is just emotional grandstanding. Had Incarna been more on target and better executed, no one would've cared what CCP discussed within its halls.
It isn't "grandstanding". People focus on it because it shows a clear link to different stances, reneging and contradictions that have led us to this point. A year ago exactly several CCP members stated unequivocally that Eve online would never include microtransactions. We didn't find out until months later that they were actually lying to our faces about it. Then they insisted MT would only be for vanity items, making several contradicting statements in the process; this too turned out to be either blatant incompetence on the part of their reps, or a flat-out lie. The fact of the matter is if we'd known a year ago what we know today there's a chance none of this would have happened because we'd have rioted a year ago. Now it's pretty much too late; CCP has pretty much restructured its business to follow this model behind its players backs and forced this new world on us, and many people feel that at this point it's probably too late to salvage it -- CCP seems to be determined to follow the MT model whereby it essentially sheds off a massive percentage of its current playerbase (50% or more) in exchange for milking more cash out of those who stay.

Am recently new to this game and i expect to play a game fully if i pay the sub, not having to pay extra for for the best ships/ammo that would make the climb in skill and experiance close to futile, a game thats free to play id accept this from but not a game i pay to play, as previusly said it would ruin the sandbox. CCP would be wise to remeber its not 10-20 year olds that mainly play this game.

Originally by: Yasidra Sad to say, but CCP broke the game months ago and almost everybody cheered. They encountered issues with their upgrade and rewarded SKILLPOINTS as compensation...we cheered. Nobody seemed to note that they had openly revealed a mechanic in the game where they (devs, GMs, their friends, the janitor?) could grant as many skillpoints to a character as they wanted. We were all just glad to get ours.
People with real cash to spend have been able to buy PLEX galore, convert to isk, and buy better ships and equipment. We enjoy the benefits of having them in our corps and alliances, and frankly everybody benefits because their cash funds CCP to help keep developing a great game for those of us who are not as wealthy. The playing field was balanced though because everybody had to "earn" their skills. The mechanics to totally cheat on characters earning skillpoints were in place, but that was ok. We got our skillpoints to allocate and trusted CCP to keep the playing field somewhat level. Can we do that now?
What CCP really broke with Incarna and the recent revelations is our TRUST. I love this community, and like many have invested plenty of time, money, and heart into the game. The ball is back in CCP's court to earn that trust back. Give CCP Pann and those of like mind a chance to correct things with open and honest dialogue. If that doesn't work, there are a lot of other online game options.

Dear CCP,
Rarely do I make a post on the forum, but today will be an exception. I no longer wish to be counted among the silent minority, and risk being counted among your supporters in these troubling times.
Yesterday, after reading the leaked PDF file, I unsubscribed one of my accounts. The others will follow shortly, *unless* you make what I would perceive as a honest, clear and upright attempt at righting the wrongs you have done to the EvE community. The major one being being treating us like cattle in your spreadsheets, and not making any apparent attempts at meaningful communication with the community representatives and leaders.
Remember that while only 10% of the players may actually hear about this nonsense, they will in all likelihood be the 10 most important percent of the inhabitants of the EvE universe. If they leave, the economy and much of the nullsec politics would need a complete reboot, which I suspect is likely to cost you just 'slightly' more than the 10 initial percent.
You are at a crossroad, and you need to make a clear choice. It is impossible to write any non-sincere PR piece, which won't be torn to shreds by the community. Whichever angle you try to spin this toward, there will surely be someone, who is able to see through your marketdroid speak. So let the MBAs take a break, and put on your thinking caps. No more BS, please. We won't buy it.
Ever again. You just nuked that bridge.

Quote: In Eve, micro transactions have essentially no impact on the core gameplay... ie shooting space ships. Now that they have added avatars, there is a new form of currency called Aurum that is converted from buying a time code (PLEX) from CCP. This new currency is used to purchase clothing for your avatar and they are also adding the ability re-skin ships using this new currency. These only effect the way your avatar and ship look... it does nothing to improve a given player or ships abilities. The primary ISK currency remains intact. In fact, the way they have implemented this system, players can actually buy Plexes from other players using ISK
Thats the issue witht he Memo.
It sugests and supports a lot more. MT's for overcomming deign problems(increasing saved ships), Game items (ammo), Game mechanics(standings), and more.
Thats the problem CCP has no intention of stoping here.
When MT where first introduced to the community it was for nural remaps-a game play mechanic...they rased heck over a MT for a gameplay advatage so CCP took a step back and said vanity only.
Then upon unveiling arum they offered a brand new ship..this ship would be bought outright with RL cash, no manufacturing, no other considerations. Pay and you get a ship. Again the community was wipped up about MT for game changing items. CCP cam back and the ship will now require a scorpion Hull to be used in creating the new ship so nothing is made from thin air that is not cosmetic.
Then we hear all the things they want and are attempting to convince themsleves are good idea;s and it is far far diffrent from cosmetic only that we have been told and represents a continued attempt to introduce MT to game changing parts of the game.
Once that wall is breached MT will be a big part of eve. That is nto a popular thing.
Games like LOL work great as MT and are set up as such. EvE can do the same in Incarna, but not to the spaceship portion of the game.
For dust I also take issue with awesome saturation.....this is not possible. Your game should be as awesome as you can make it. RL should not be required to make your game fun. MT can be built into the game for intelegent things, maybe even guns but the diffrence can not be huge. No one wants to feel they need to buy MT, but that they want to. If I feel I need to buy MT I simply won't play. If I play and want to buy a MT then I will.

I have two options as an eve paying player:
1) Say my .00005 cents which will not be heard, listen to lies, and keep paying so those that lie to me can keep doing so.
2) Cancel my sub and wait for Star wars to come out.
Taking a POLL now.......

I had no choice but to cancel.
I could have waited for a response from CCP on the newsletter. I could have waited for changes to CQ and Incarna. I could have waited to see if CCP got the message from its customer base and acted accordingly.
However...Incarna destroyed hardware on my PC. I was one of the lucky ones in that it only fried my PSU. It only cost me $100 instead of $1000 or more. But I just can't support a company who broke the inherent trust between company and customer. As a customer, we trust that you, as a company, will not release software that is potentially damaging to your customers property. Code was released into a production environment that was flawed and that had the potential to damage hardware with no warning to the customer. It is inexcusable that this made it out of QA without the QA team catching the flaws. Your company's mistakes ended up costing me $100 and some people much more.
I was really enjoying EVE. It is a shame that something that people were looking forward to actually ruined the game. I hope that CCP can learn from these errors and grasp the concept that in order to make money from customers, you have to make customers happy. We are not here to be taken advantage of. We are not a money well that CCP can dip it's bucket into endlessly with no care for our concerns, cares or rights as consumers.
I had to answer these transgressions the only way I could and in a language that CCP appears to understand all too well. With my wallet.

I'm far enough down that this probably won't get seen, but I'll ask anyway.
This isn't like you. You don't have a greedy publisher forcing you to squeeze more profits out of us. In the past, you've always been transparent and responsive. You don't always make the most usable software, but you at least try to listen to our concerns. And you should know that you can't double dip.
So I have to ask: Are you guys in serious trouble? Is this a desperate bid to keep the company afloat and the servers running? If so, be honest with us. Tell us what the problem is and we can work something out.

Tread carefully CCP... you forget the loyal customer base you have (had?) at your peril. I know I for one have spent over ś2300 in subscriptions, there are others with many more accounts and even longer in game. Yes, communication is key to any relationship, weither it be friends to friends, business to business etc etc. Bad communication = alot of confusion and distrust, which is what is going on here in this thread. I think CCP understands this now (hopefully).
1)NeX Store issue ------------------
I'm not against microtransations at all, but they must NEVER interfere with the ingame market. The NeX store should solely contain cosmetic items, nothing more. Items that give an advantage over others = game breaker. And with a reasonable price, as of now, I'm not even considering to buy anything from it.
AND there is allready a monthly sub, so be VERY carefull about the way you're going. Remember "the butterfly effect" trailer? "The choices you make shape the outcome of events" <=== this holds true IRL aswell
2)CQ ----- CQ only adds to the "coolness" and "immersion" factors. This is a good thing. However its doesn't add anything usefull to the game and it feels a bit clumsy too. On the other hand, I understand (and I hope other players too) that there's alot more features in the pipeline, so I'm not going to go to deep in this untill the station environment has been deployed to its fullest potential. I can only hope that this won't take too much focus away from "flying in space" part of the game. The future will tell who's right. There is only 1 thing you can do at 1 time, when you're doing stuff in station, you're not in space, therefore you can't be blown up by me...
3)Performance -------------- There is no question that CQ requires more power from our machines than before. But I've got a feeling that there is more to be optimized. I turned down some options and both clients run "ok". My specs:
OS: Win7 64bit CPU: i7 920 Gfx: Asus GTX 295 (single core mode) Memory: 4GB @ 1600Mhz
A loyal customer since end 2008 Raas.

We can argue till we are blue in the face attacking people on a personal lvl is just wrong. Incarna is here to stay and nothing will change that, but!
Things need to change:
Balance balance balance has to come to the NEX Shop. Client tweaks for hardware. And many things that are troubling users.
So how can CCP redeem them self. 1. explain why the NEX shop has such insane prices 2. Give us the road map for EVE-online for the next year 3. Give us a road map of how to deal with ingame problems user have in been talking about the last few years 4. Roadmap how to deal with more hardware support look in to DX11
The list can be longer but my point is be clear how the future will be so the users respect and trust is restored.
These are also good points the CSM peeps must be looking at, (I would) it's time that we user ask some hard demands from CCP so EVE-online can have a long future.
Mistakes can be made we are all human in the end.
