I enjoyed the rioting.. And the laser show is working, I had a conversation with a nice guy undocking who was asking what was going on and informed him. He was in full support of what we were doing, I had to open a new convo with him on another character though as the one I was on originally got gagged by.. you guessed it, our favorite GM Horse.
Anyways, people are noticing, keep it up. I'll be back at it tomorrow I'm sure.
Orrr.. I'll be banned, and won't give a damn.
Get a brain CCP, aren't you already in financial trouble?? Won't losing our subscriptions hurt? Btw, we're big boys and girls.. we could handle it if all the mining bots were banned, we're the eve community, we're strong, stronger than you btw. Something for you to think about.
Just so you know, I'm definitely NOT on the side of the rioters. They're acting like children. 1- they're ignoring the facts. 2- they're being impatient. 3- they smell funny. 4- They're taking the theorizing and supposition of others to be fact, especially the conspiracy theory posts. Okay, maybe I lied about number three, but still. People need to grow up.
They do smell funny.
Yeah, I play WOT here and there but I'm still plugged in here. Where else can find such an entertaining, self entitled, over reacting group of prima donnas?
Well, apparently you'll soon be able to find a lot of them over at the EVE rip off/mech warrior hybrid. Their forum mods must be horrified. ===== The world will not end in 2012, however there will be a serious nerf to Planetary Interaction. |

Edited by: Lokitoki81 on 25/06/2011 05:05:53 Biggest rage in EVE's history.
Somewhere along the way CCP forgot this game is about the community. P*ss off the community (read: Fallout telling the community to STFU) is NOT a smart move.
As Mittani said, Im good with having the option to buy any blingbling they throw at me, as long as it doesnt effect the gameplay. Im not gonna buy any blingbling ever, but if some folks want to, fine with me.
When the day comes, when you can buy skillpoints, special boosters, special ships with RL cash only, EVE will die in a few months.
Best part with EVE is the learningcurve is huuuuge, that will sort out the idiots. And you cant buy advantage with RL cash. A char is what you train it to be. No shortcuts.
And stop freaking banning people for speaking up their thoughts! When you imo bring such bulls*it (newsletter, CQ, INCARNA) to the table and p*ss people off you will kinda get flamed.
Five years down the toilet, someone should get fired imo... Are there any thoughts/plans about fixing lag? Is that even a priority?
EVE is a fantastic game, but right now, its my honest and upright opinion, that the devs completely lost it... Get back to the roots....

The reason why CCP are not ANSWERING your questions now, and responded the way they did, by ignoring the issue is...
THEY ARE STILL EXECUTING ON THEIR TIME TABLE... their time table does not have disclosure on these issues at this time.
That is how CLOSED CCP management is, they do it their way, nothing interrupts their schedule, that was committed to.
THE MT EXECUTION TIMETABLE IS STILL IN EFFECT.
edit - i got rid of the obnoxious size and color.
I suppose it's not possible, in some strange universe, that the following facts have no bearing on the lack of a post: 1. It's summer 2. It's the weekend 3. they just released an expansion and might be taking vacation since i'd presume they weren't allowed to for the past month or so
I could go on, but the pitchfork holders won't listen to anything that doesn't answer their every burning desire immediately.
Yes, if the CCP employees worked the same hours as the people stoking the fires of these riots, things might be different. But I'm willing to bet they don't, and it's pretty unreasonable to expect them to. That's not to say I don't want answers too, but I'm not going to throw a temper tantrum like a twelve year old just to make my point.
Talk is cheap and Actions speak louder than words.
The fact that... even this late at night forum moderators are banning accounts and locking/deleting low-hanging forum threads with a copy of CCP Hilmar's supposed leaked e-mail. Coupled with the fact that, in any organization worth anything there is a chain of command in the case of emergencies like this.
This whole ****storm started yesterday for God's sake... even the most white knight of CCP supporter's has to imagine someone could have called someone to get something rolling.
Hilmar's supposed e-mail is basically telling the CCP staff to ignore us like the ignorant children they seem to believe we are, because we're too addled to pull away from the addiction.
Does nothing about that **** you off a little bit?
CCP started this threadnaught with a request to parley. Notice they never came back? A few CCP dev's were monitoring the thread, and in theory related their findings to CCP Zulu. Who magically ignored the singular massive complaint about game altering MT, and instead focused on :lolpants:.
Talk in indeed cheap, and actions are indeed vastly louder than words. And CCP's actions thus far have been that her own player base do not matter.

One of the things that really bugged me from the newsletter this all started from was the whole comparing Eve to golf and wanting people to spend $3000 a year on this ****. I mean, what the ****.
It's not even surprising either, with how much they were pushing the "Eve is real" and "Eve is forever" lines during fanfest. They genuinely believe their product is that good.
They must have some seriously good kool-aid to cover up what a buggy unfinished mess this game has always been.

I am disgusted with CCPs total lack of care about their players leaving.
They have not addressed this, but have addressed monetary issues.
Meaning, quite clearly, they care about money more then players.
I will not be renewing my sub.
Also the parley is over.

I don't think the people here or the in-game protestors are acting like children at all, quite the opposite in fact. I've seen more than a few times in Eve where indeed masses of people have acted like children but this isn't one of those times by a long shot. Today has seen a mass of people come together for a common goal. Amazingly very little in-fighting or childishness has taken place. It's great to see all these people who are normally at each others throats working together to save the game they love from imploading due to poor management. They/we are sending a collective message that the childishness at CCP needs to stop if we are to remain here as paying customers.

what I personally, and alot of the people i speak with are mostly concernd about is, what will you do later on.
We want assurances that this game will never allow MT to sell stuff other than vanity items, aswell as alot of people are very annoyed over deployment of a long waited thing calld walking in stations. If you can not provide us with proper walk in stations where we actually can interact with each other then dont do it at all, giving us this is like giving nothing at all. who cares if you can se yourself in a mirror , or have a 2nd button you can klik to do the same as you allrdy can from the side bar.
Stop feeding us this crap, and make something properly before deploying it. If you cant make it work, then dont deploy it, i mean you dont sell cars without tires and then tell the customers to wait a year or 2 before they can have the tires aswell right?
You want reinsurances from the guys who a) lied to us about MT b) lied to the CSM about MT c) then wanted to parley with us, just to later show that they already had a set agenda internally d) their CEO even stated that players opinions doesn't count
CCP had a fishy history since before. Now they've (in very short succession) proven themselves to be self-centered liars. Assurances from CCP bears no meaning, at all. -

CCP probably has a fairly long list of long-term subscribers with 9 accounts, even if every single one of those accounts was paid entirely via PLEX... someone somewhere is spending nearly $2,000 a year to support their gaming habit. After all, PLEX's do not get injected from nothing. I know several people with that number of active subs.
The 3k a year price tag is probably what they were hoping it'd grow into. Or who knows, maybe they know just how much RL$ is being injected via PLEX and RMT and know that 3k a year is chump change for some of the long-term eve vets.

So you sold 52 monocles in 40 hours? That's around 3640 dollars. Let's say that they were priced at around 5 dollars per monocle and you'd need 728 to have made the same amount of money. I can guarantee you that if you had made the price cheaper, then people would have bought it MUCH more. Not only to put on their character, but to put on the market and sell it there.
Your greed has screwed you over. You went for the short term gain and will fail in the long term. Almost 1000 accounts were closed in one day. Let's think about the loss of that. 15 dollars per sub per month. That's a loss of $15,000 PER MONTH CCP. The monocle is a one time purchase.
Do the math.

I'd just like to announce this little tidbit of information: I bought some monocles.
With this purchase I hope to express to CCPGames that I truly appreciate their wonderful PR response; specifically, that they have so aptly identified in the player base of EVE Online-- the popular Internet spaceships game-- a proclivity to say one thing and do another. It is with great confidence that I invest a sizable percentage of my in-game assets to acquiring these products, looking forward to a bright future where such commodities can be freely traded and speculated. I also do it because I know it will enrage a lot of people in this thread, and I can't think of a better way to use my pretend-money to ruin some peoples' days right now. And that's another reason I feel nothing but gratitude towards CCPGames: they have given me a sandbox where I am free to knock over other children's sand castles and steal their lunch money. Life is truly grand in space utopia, where we with privilege and contempt for the masses are able to openly deride them and stand on their backs while they have no choice but to endure and whine ineffectively.
Thank you, CCP, for this wonderful alternate reality. I am truly the king of space.

Microtransactions are welcomed, as far as i am concerned. A few vanity items are hardly worth unsubbing for. The system for buying ships through plex has been available for a while, this is no different. If the items are too expensive & provide no benefit in pvp or pve, then who gives a damn about how much it costs or if its even there. I say let the dumbass pay $50 or more on vanity items, more revenue for CCP.
Seriously, some of you take the game too seriously & that letter has nothing wrong with it, I would have written something along those lines as well, if I were working there. You folks have to remember that this is not your game, you don't have the responsability (legal or otherwise) to increase stock prices for investors. They need cash to expand & grow, so I say, let the microtransactions stay & let ccp continue their PR tactics, bad press is good press.
