I don't know what disappoints me more: CCP's obvious plans for the future or the totally incompetent and cowardly way they "manage" the current crisis.

What your all forgetting is the pirate pvp factor eve is all about. You can Suicide kill anyone with a golden ship, you can gank the hell out of all the fancy stuff and by the looks of it anything game changing probably won't be brought to the market. And if it is it will be shortly ganked by the angry mob that you are.
Btw, see the pricing of 80$ for the monocle? Think of it. If CCP charges that much for it think of how much they'd charge for anything else.
If someone wants to spend 40+ Dollars on eye candy items, useful or not they'll shortly learn that they will be podded just as fast, if not faster because they have there nifty awesome eye candy of a ship / ammo / faction gear just like the currently do. Infact, make it your mission to blow them up because there better off due to as we'll call it " Cheating " with real life currency.
All this does is bring the griefing closer to home. It's not like CCP is going to refund some poor noob because they lost there gold plated Itty V in a gate camp or a suicide attack.
My only general concern about the game is expansion to the Eve universe as it would be nice if it were actually expanding.. which it is not. All the past 2 expansions were add some objects of interest, some fancy new walking in station stuff which can't be used to show off yet " Can't wait for this to be worked on " and if you hate the items.
Don't buy them and I push yet again. Make it your mission as fellow pirates to find these people, camp them, pod them back to noob toons with 0 isk flow. That's what the game is about and if a GM approach's you about griefing, back off, find another target, take aim and fire. Remember as long as your not griefing just 1 person, it's not personal griefing or making the game unplayable =)

So far, the ISK price of PLEX has gone down, which to me speaks volumes. It's too short-term to be conclusive, but still.
They were still paid with real money, because someone had to introduce that PLEX into the economy in the first place.
The question is when was that real money introduced to system, if it was introduced year ago CCP has already *spent* that money, dont think for second they will keep plex $$$ on different bank account in RL and only spend it as they disappear from in-game. You see if companies lose their incoming money, they need to lay off workforce for while/gather new income in form of loans/shenigans. All these are bad moves but can save the company *if* the income returns at some point. ****ed off players who wont even spit at the direction of the game wont bring income back, in fact they will scare other players away.
Now if you look at say temporary couple month lay-offs for ccp workers, that means coding etc will suffer, which either means 1) eve doesnt get the attention to get fixed, 2) dust will be released late/buggy or 3) same with WoD mmo. CCP is heavily investing to dust and WoD being their *next big thing* while Eve is golden goose providing income, hence it can be ignored in favor to get new stuff out. This however goes to situation where more Eve players get ****ed at ****ty non supported gameplay etc -> more people leave -> less income -> more layoffs -> circle goes around.
If on the other hand CCP focuses on Eve and postpones dust/WoD for time being, they might save the golden goose, keeping it's steady income flow as long as they dont fubar it up with another PR catastrophe.
It's all about money and how much a gamble CCP is willing to bet on the success of it. I've personally used Eve as market tool + chat for last couple years, ocassional pvp fight here and there. To me plex directly to goods means skipping whole industrial & marketing part of the game, hence it *will* fubar with my in-game actions.
The Process atm; player A has real life money, he buys plex. He sells it for isk, however if there are no player B wanting to buy plex/they dont agree on the price, player A doesnt get the isk he wants out of it. If he makes the sale he gets isk -> which he uses to buy in game items, provided some player B/C is selling them and they agree on price. If not the player A has to either buy more plexes and go trough it all or not get the item.
The Process in future; player A has real life money, he buys plex. He converts it to another virtual currency and buys the end product, skipping whole change of ever not getting the product. Hence things like alliance 0.0 logistics, lo-sec logistics, mining, mission running, bpo research, industry or even player kills lose meaning as they can be replaced right away.
The Difference is in how many players it takes to convert RL money to in-game goods, for future it only requires one... so much for multiplayer where everything affects everything else eh?

No-one at CCP needs to apologies for creating beautiful art and giving us tools to tell our own stories.
Big H is right, EVE online is a luxury from start to finish. Crying about how expensive your hobby is is just stupid. I hold you in derision if you feel individually slighted by the cost of virtual items and the bold commercial decisions of a company in the leisure industry.
The real crime here is the mob mentality on display. Those of you who have feel they have the freedom of speech to speak for the entire playing community and accuse CCP of being detached because they have not cow-towed to your childish demands do not speak for me. I do not want to be identified with you. You disgust me.
Shinies are expensive, deal with it.

CCP
Can you explain something and I would really like to know where have you gone. Ill try and explain 1. When a patch came out especially a big one you always had a ccp char in a large hub and also flying around checking things out in TQ 2. Every now and then you would log in and talk to us in local and see how things were going. 3. You actually listened to us 4. You used to stress test with Jove ships ( Which was bloody good fun ) and was actually nice to see a rare item in TQ and NOT the sisi server
So whats been happening...
You made a awesome game many years ago and applied patches and built and built and built knowing it was built for the user and not MR Banker. You actually loved playing the game.
Now it seems like your not interested in us anymore and you have this attitude of whereby its not the game of the user anymore and this all seems to have started since the project of dust.
Now im not being a spoilt brat or anything but if your going to spend more and more and more time on dust your going to forget about the ppl who got you there and btw it was us. We gave you the money to save and develop and bring this game to what it is and now you are not listening anymore and pushing us out of the way cos you now think hey we got sony and you want more money
CCP Zulu needs to be muzzled btw. I actually think hes a wow player and doesnt even play eve. He maybe great at his job but tbh his pr skills blow and now because of another stupid idea its causing mayhem again. Reminds me of the supercaps screw up but this is actually worse
U well know ccp that each of us have our own mind and a large percentage you have pushed to far but in the back of my mind im thinking u actually dont care cos when dust comes out u will get a new player base so people leaving eve will actually be forgotten and tbh there the ones that need to be remembered
Entity and cribba come to mind as chars out of ccp who have spent there life on this game
All in all though I dont think trying to crash the node by flooding systems will help as more people will be in the trade hub and more things will be sold plus the fact all you need to do is switch on another hamster
I would like to point out to CCP PAN the PR team have really really got to look into why the hell your making so many apologies and stick with the facts and advise us BEFORE we find out on the grape vine IE dont hide in the background only to come out to revert a PR disaster
As we are normal people you should know that 1 person tells 6 people then 6 people tell 24 people and so on. Things like this need to be nipped in the bud before you have 5000 chars wanting to implode the node
I actually like the hangar and the new hulls of the maller but you have to stop bringing new things out and fix what is wrong in the first place. Overall
LISTEN TO US AND SPEND MORE TIME IN TQ. Hinding makes things worse. You should be all in eve right now in a stn listening to what is going on and not waiting for us to spend time writting on the forums. Yes you will get slated and moaned at but you will actually see what is happening inside the sandbox
Heres a pro PR tip
Dont hide Log as many ccp and ISD chars in trade hubs and see what is going on. DONT use your alts
Thanks for reading anyway if your actually reading this anyway

PvP`ers to the core eh?
time to pew-pew ccp in any frakinway we can think off?
nomatter how you look at it , medica coverage can make or break a busines like CCP
and , if anything , at least 75% of eve`s fame is based on the comunity (backstabs , hesist , epic wars , 3k people battles , etc) , and i even dare say most of the negatives on CCP (slow , dull , spreadsheets in space , grind , no chanche to catch up , you know all the whines if you`ve been around a while)
so here`s an ideea
i guess plenty ppl like me just waiting for the subs/plexes to run out
how about scorched earth policy in the remaining time? Noob slaughter fests allover highsec , totally ****ing up the markets , etc
there is some truth to the whines about never catching up...i have 30 days or so left on plexed accounts and i have enough assets to spend all that tieme griefing noobs out of the game
i may well just do that

You want metrics? I'll give you some metrics: -3 accounts and one down from yearly to monthly.
You like eeeeet?
Looks like CCPs management sucks, if they manouvered the company into this situation. they need money to keep their 3 projects running. The only project that generates money is EvE online right now.
It happens all the time. They expanded too fast and too strong. The management ****ed up, and the employees have to pay for it. Thats bad management for you.
Looks like greed isn't that good after all eh? Look where it brought you CCP. Get real!
I mean the clothes i wear on an average day are worth slightly more than the stuff you are selling in your in-game-shop, still look better and actually keep me warm.
EvE is a good game, but please get real and get of your high horse. Could you do that for me please? Thank you very much.
Say a decisive NO to pay-2-win and I will gladly allow you again to deduct 3 monthly fees from my bank account.

This is like...omg.
This is a dangerous path you`ve taken CCP. If you start loosing players, there is no end to that. Be afraid. Very afraid. So many posts say your current path is a "dead end" one. And I don`t see you making any improvements. I am very sorry for you.
I enjoy EVE, and feel very sorry for this dying breed. What you do now isn`t working, only worsening. |

If you waiting for CCP to listen their customers, you may wait forefer. CCP is not a company even listens their own employee. Here some statements from CCP's own employeees. I found them in job review site at the link below.
"CCP has a loooong way to go in terms of sorting out their professionalism." .. "often management is unwilling to participate in a thorough communications process" ..."The lack of professionalism is mind blowing. Procedures that are common in other companies are not used here and considered a waste of time. There is no solid vision for EVE which leaves employees with no other option than to start work and find out what is wanted by trial and error, this is what CCP means with Agile development"
Here read opinions of CCP empolees about their own company

We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

VERY PREDICTABLE - CCP is, yes, predictable lies, smugness, arrogance etc etc
NOISE - the silence is deafening
STAY THE COURSE - because your own employees need to be told that, because you are out of touch with them too, they are just too scared to tell you so they do it anonymously online, and here we are
CHANGE - things are changing, hows the cancellations?
INNOVATION - You invented Microtransactions too?
CHANGE THE WORLD - Yes, some competitor is going to get a bunch of new customers, how many starving people did you personally feed to change their world or did you just change your world?
He is so POMPOUS that he acts like he INVENTED Microtransactions and is changing he world (words from his email)
pomp+ous/ˈpSmpəs/Adjective 1. Affectedly and irritatingly grand, solemn, or self-important: "a pompous ass". 2. Characterized by pomp or splendor: "there were many processions and other pompous shows".

Has CCP Pann addressed the customers who cannot now play? OR the general lack of response from their customer service reps? At this point I have demanded some sort of phone number to speak with someone in authority as I am tired of waiting and basically tired of being screwed. Bah who am I kidding if I were getting screwed I would at least get dinner and a movie with it.

Iam on your side, but thats not the issue people start complaining! Let them make vanity items 10.000$, no one has a problem with that. But everything beyond vanity (Weapons, Modules) is first against any statement CCP has given and secondly it has consequences on the sandbox-principle which makes (or better made) this game so fantastic.
