Lots have things have collided recently to create this fail cascade and this virtual shop is just one of them (and can be so easily "fixed").... but this just made me smile as an indication of how much, in so short a period of time, CCP has got a load of things wrong.

If it gets released to bypass the crapstorm... i called it!
but seriously... nearly 300 pages of player threadnaught, 90 pages of people unsubung/not renewing multiple accounts for the most part
Dont ya think its WELL past time for an " overdue" response to the non-vanity MT question that your entire playerbase who's played for more than 2 months is direly protesting, postng furiously and begging to hear a substantial, definitive answer to? or is it a ploy to milk an extra few months out of people holding out hope?
Edit: Think of it like this, at the moment a substantial portion of EVE players are less angry at Lulzsec, who crashed eve, then they are at the people supposed to be answering this question, who run eve... food for thought.

Even if they did say ok no we won't add those things..
What's the point in staying really.
They will just "feature creep" them in..
Either way, this is here now and comming later.
There is a wall, read it, and stop running or you will just run into it and cry after.
This is like telling politicans not to do something, they don't do it, then they creep it in later bit by bit.
You are all wasting your breath and time with this issue. Eve is no longer Eve, it is Entropia.
They don't care if you leave in masses. The new business model accounts for that.
Eve (Entropia) is now like a huge revolving door, new players come in, get mugged by the game, they leave..: repeat wrinse laughter.
This business model actualy thrives on the revolving door mugging model.
Pretty much how it looks to be going

WiS; This could be a good thing in the long run depending in which way you take it. But why did you (CCP) introduce it with the big marketing drum at this early stage? At the moment it removes functionality and performance from the game without adding anything usable.
You recently introduced the ability to introduce optional "beta" changes (properly used in the Contracts UI changes for example). It would have made perfect sense to position CQ as an optional beta UI extension and market the WiS expansion the first time we can actually meet other players in stations. Now it turned into a 3 minute experience with a bad aftertaste. I feel sorry for any new players entering the game at this time because they heard about WiS.
NeX; The only fun part of CQ. The price level killed the concept of vanity in an instance. I have no objections against the silly prices in themselves, but the idea of the implied financial scale is laughable. ISK are supposed to be an nber-currency high above what people use locally on planets, so I suppose the AUR->ISK->Local currency scale tells us that CLOTHING the most valuable commodity in the eve universe.
The MT issue; Most other MMOs are moving to a MT-model. I play some of them once in a while, but there are several important points to be concidered.
1. Commitment. I, for example, play LOTRO F2P now and then. The key point here is "now and then". When I want to kill some orcs its perfect, but I do not stay around and they do not earn much money from me. The commitment is weak in both directions. MT is perfect for leasure playing. Eve on the other hand is based on a completely different experience/emotions. I have two accounts that I keep paying for even in the periods where RL reduces my gaming to skill management only, and I'm not alone in this. I already spend more money and time on Eve than my other hobbies (except drinking beer) and therefore I expect you to respect my investment. MT changes the expectancy from long term commitment towards instant gratification. It breaks the current experience without the promise of replacing it with something better.
2. Concistency and Maturity. Eve is different because it promotes long term goals. It does not provide a gameplay where I can "grind to the maximum level in 14 days because I know the optimal order of quest-running". This makes Eve a mature game. But if long term "emotional" repay is going the work, the sandbox have to be concistent over time. The regular forum rants against all changes (regardless if the fear is relevant in the individual change) is a testament to this fact. MT as a concept devaluates the long term stability more than "normal" expansions and tweaks. Concistency is lost if the sandbox is changing its natural laws too often. The MT model promotes a "flavour of the day" attitide, with very fluctuating cost to stimulate ad hoc consuming.
3 PvP and Risk/Reward. Eve differs from most MMOs by making PvP an inherent structure of the world, not just some kind a arena based "fighting for glory". Eves PvP sandbox, even if its not perfect, works because most of the time I can evaluate risk&reward of an activity. I'm not talking about ISK/hour here, I'm talking about what to do within the game. Risk is the potential excitement and the reward is the level of success in my choosen activity. When you decide to go in a specific direction bacause you think its your type of fun then usually it takes a long time to reach it (skill training, gaining trust in a corp, gathering resources, ...). To be able to make these decisions within the sandbox we need to keep external influences at bay. MT removes/reduces the risk component, which removes part of what makes it a game at all. MT also incorporates an additional external randomizing factor (RL-spending-habits) into the sandbox, which reduces the ability to gauge the behaviour/strength of my PvP opponents.
Take notes on this post CCP

I feel compelled to write this, even though it's going to get lost in the sea of screams that this threadnaught has become.
I am concerned, but not panicky, and not enraged enough to quit. I've read over the "Fearless" release several times, I've perused all of the blog postings and emails, and this is my opinion:
CCP is guilty of one thing; they're rotten communicators. There isn't a single Party Line that everyone has adopted. Some devs are slightly apologetic, bashful, and concerned (or at least they appear to be), some are vague and non-committal, and some appear, on the surface, to be above-it-all and a little haughty. There have definitely been some missteps, especially in the case of Zulu's pants analogy, but I'm also willing to accept that there are an awful lot of capsuleers that have been poor representatives for those of us who are patiently waiting to see what CCP actually DOES. Sorting out a cluster**** of this magnitude is a time consuming process, and waiting two days isn't going to actually kill any of us. We're feeding off of each other. We've become a mass-less mob, marauding through the streets of teh interweb, turning cars over, and lighting **** on fire, because, "thousands of other people are doing it, and **** it, I'm kinda ****ed too."
I understand the anger, and I understand the passion. If Eve actually goes the route of P2W, I'm hanging up my spurs, not because of how much it's going to cost, but because it's going to change the whole dynamic of the sandbox. If you don't think people have been spending this kind of RL cash already, you're deluding yourselves. I know for a fact that people have blown $90 in a night on PLEX to fund a weekend PVP excursion. ****ed it all away. Came out of the weekend with nothing but sleep deprivation and a grin. People are going to spend the money - rest assured. What it's going to do is ruin the interconnection between combat, trade, R&D, and industry, and that interconnection is the heart and soul of EVE. It's what makes it such a tight community as a whole.
CCP hasn't made that move yet, though, and there's nothing to indicate that they will; only that they've thought about it. Thinking and debate is good, as far as I'm concerned. Yes, they said a while ago that they were never going to introduce MT to EVE, but everything is mutable in videogameland, and if that philosophy has changed, then I'll leave without making a giant stink about it, because the loss of my business will say a hundred times more than all the ranting and foot stomping that I could ever do. The internal documentation that was leaked by Helicity was a point-counterpoint argument, and nothing more. The subsequent emails and dev blogs haven't explicitly said that non-vanity MT transactions were the wave of the future, so that's where I sit, and that's where I wait. We have been speculating and engaging in confirmation bias for the last 48 hours, and all it's led to is hot tempers and really harsh words for some people who genuinely do not deserve it. If anyone is angry, that's their right; if anyone chooses to vote with their wallet and leave now, that is their right. However, vitriolic, hateful, offensive language doesn't make us look any better than The Man that we all seem to be raging against.
