Its obvious that the cow is not giving enough milk to churn that delicious creammy butter called EVE we all love to slather on our toast.
I suspect that it has allot to do with the playerbase as a whole being much more savy with being able to make themselves ISK and moving towards "Paying" for this game with PLEX more and more.
CCP is having to get more cash flow to fund the growing entity that is CCP and the two new projects in development.
Keep the prices for a Monicle at 80 Bucks, Put more Vanity items on the market for the players that have more ISK than they know what to do with to spend on, its good for CCP in cash flow and it gives noobs an easy way to fund the purchase of Drakes and ammo they can have fun with.
New players with ships is a nice thing to see and they provide enjoyable targets, so happy faces all around, great.
Lets look at how we can do the other things laid out in the leaked internal newsletter but without giving an advantage:
You want a new cool ship, fine, sell 1 run BPC's that produce a new ship which has stats matching an existing ship in game, but reskinned in a way that someone is willing to pay for. Also make the production of this new Cool ship require a player made ship of the type that its stats match, and possibly some extra player made content such as PI materials.
You want a cool new ammo type, fine, make it have an outragous turret effect or explosion effect, but have the exact same stats and damage as an existing ammo type. These should also come in the form of limited run BPC's and use up the ammo type they mirror as well as some PI materials.
As to the buying faction standings, NO FREAKING WAY!!
For the more than 50 stored fittings by buying more, I personally would not have a problem with that, but if anyone does I think it should be dropped as well. I can't really see a game breaking advantage that this would give, it is only a convienience factor for L33T PVPers as far as I can see.
any other suggestions for how CCP can make extra cash with these transactions that would fit in to the vision that is EVE? Please post em...

Uhm...your logic, or lack there of, has a fatal flaw. Plex must be bought with cash first. Then sold on the market. How can buying plex (that is bought in cash) with isk cause a cash flow problem?

Well its obviously not enough to get what needs to be done done, otherwise we would not be floating in this sea of rage that is the EVE Forum today

I wonder what the budget is for the massive aquariums they have in the office...

If I was CCP I would start doing whatever I did when I didn't have a cash flow problem. Makes sense, no?

Well what they did was make a game that had a pure vision and required investment in time and thought on the players part to get good at.
That is why we are raging at this thought of being able to "Buy" advantage in the game.
CCP wants to grow, the projects in motion, money being spent.... it has potential, but needs the development and funding to become great. CCP needs EVE, its the flagship and the sister ships being worked on in the drydock need her to keep the passengers happy.
So lets see how we can help, because the captain is sailing her towards an Iceburg ATM.

I think their cash flow problem probably relates to Dust and WoD not yet earning them any money, perhaps they've kicked off a bit more development than they can handle?
Perhaps if they brought forward the release of Dust - maybe start off with a room or two where people can walk around, look at themselves in the mirror, sit on the sofa and buy cool stuff like monacles etc. that could help pay for the rest of the development and all the PS3 kiddies would be happy at the same time.

Your post makes a very good point of just how much of a **** expansion incarna really is. Nice one :)

Another BIG deal on gaining a 2nd account. Or resubbing for a year. I suspect that with the costs of DUST EVE and WoD they just need a temporary boost in income. That can happen by making it more attractive for getting another account.
Give me a big deal on getting another account for 6 months and I doubt I can resist.

I hear ya, I have been away from home for months and let all my EVE subscriptions lapse, this is only the first I have got back up and running, after I see the "Official" and "Set in stone" answors on this issue tommorow I will decide if the other 2 accounts get reactivated or not.
Of course if I see the answor that won't kill EVE outright I would be happy to take advantage of a deal on longer term resubbing for the other two accounts ; ]

I remember CCP talking about possibly bringing in stripper poles, I would pay to have one in my CQ if it came with an exotic dancer, possibly more than one exotic dancer, each costing more to purchase?
As you buy each dancer they are more and more "Erotic"
I would def spend AUR on that!!

The end of year financials indicated no cash flow issues and those are highly unlikely to be altered due to the entire go to jail aspect. The cash flow if anything has been rising lately with increased subs.

But they obviously need more for Dust and Goth online, so... any ideas on what you would pay RL money for that is not game ballance issue?

Maybe just think waaay outside the box.
Explain to everyone that costs overall have gone up and to continue as a subscription based game with free quality expanisions the price has to go up a couple bucks per month.
OR
Sell Incarna as a paid expansion. Not the captain's closet; a real game. Walking is not a game.
OR
Treat people like they just fell off the turnip truck and charge crazy prices using incremental deployment so noone notices when the tide turns to a pay-to-win market strategy. Also give people a tool like an API system so they will develop cool applications for our game then do a smash and grab with a yearly fee to use the source API.
(One of these ideas comes to you courtesy of Moe Howard...guess which one it is)
