I primarily play my alt SHADE ATX now adays but Ive been around along time. Long enough to remember cruise missiles on kestrels so.. I feel every ones concerns and disapointment in some of our beloved CCP Devs handling of recent events. They mishandled this store at start but they are human.
Please stop the crazy posts about store specific ammos..ships etc that can only be bought in the store. CCP will never do that.
EVE is to CCP is like a Caldari's players Drake... you might move up and train to a CNR faction fitted beast but you never sell the Drake in case you get good and drunk and blow yourself up and give all your billions away to Jita local scammers. Basically saying CCP would be stupid to gut EVE when we will all be here ten years from now making them steady money if they're not stupid and just give us the small things we want
so calm down
ON TO MY STORE IDEA
Learning Boosters : This item increases learning speed at a ratio that scales in relation to how many SP's you have now.
EX :
0 - 20 million SP's -- 2.00 X speed
20 - 30 million SP's -- 1.50 X speed
30 - 40 million SP's -- 1.25 X speed
Cost? Equivalent to a month subscription. It could even have the option of being a AUR/Cash option. You see why of course. A Cash option means it bypasses the Mega billions we vets have stashed in PLEX/Isk encouraging younger players to pay say $15.95 per month on TOP of their subscription. Vets can still use PLEX but at an increased rate of course.
Need to work out the particulars and a better scale cost ratio etc but you get my point
I think some people got their feelings hurt once they realized CCP is needs to try and make some money and I suggest we help CCP figure out how since they can't and before they stick some $75 Astroglide where the sun don't shine .
My first post in years. hi ya'll

If this is going to be a microtransaction game, I'd actually be in favor of this. Give new players a chance to be relevant and play with the big boys (if they have the cash). The worst aspect of EVE is that old players have an inherent, game design structured advantage over the new.
But if this is going to be a microtransaction game, then I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY A SUBSCRIPTION FEE.

This assumption is fail as the "big boys" have access to the same items as the new players. End result the new players *think* they can catch up, but never really do. This is the same in games with XP. People think that they can grind harder and faster to catch up, only to realize in the end that the vets are doing the same thing to keep ahead.

That's why my idea has the results scaling. To prevent that. A non wasted 20 mill SP character can do alot of things in EVE.
It would even increase the creation of more alt accounts from older players.

After a year or so of skill training, it's all pretty much the same. Maybe that player won't have every single gunnery skill trained to 5, but he'll have most of them that far in the thing he's flying right then. Maybe he won't be crosstrained in everything, but he'll be decent at what he's flying. That would be a huge improvement over the current situation, where a young player = a vulnerable player, no matter how good his player skill is.
In comparison, whether the bittervets can fly every race's supercarrier on the same pilot doesn't actually change much of anything. 10 mil SP will almost always beat 1 mil sp, but 80 mil SP can't say the same about 40 mil SP at all.

I never post because I read here alot and your all just a bunch of trolls and its gotten worse over the years. Look at this characters post history..wait there ISNT one. and hes over 3 years old
What is stupid about my idea? CCP is going to try and make money. You want some pew pew special ammo in that shop? Ships with extra mid/low slots? They could do some bad things in that store. and they ARE going to sell something. best to guide them in a way that helps the game in some way

See this is kinda where my idea started in my mind this truth. good point
and it will keep new players in game that have the cash.. CCP's making money. vets have more prey..
I mean really its not a bad idea. Not saying its perfect atm needs tweeking but its not bad

Interesting idea.
Question is, how long is the "boost" in effect for? Because if it's permanent or until podded, then it's just another variation of an implant -some of which already boost certain skill levels-. THE Newsletter.....and CCP Execs |
