Just updating a MacBook Pro 15 inch now. Incarna was sorking for me on 10.6.7 though, except everything was too dark to see properly... I'm hoping the new OS upgrade will make the EVE client a bit brighter.

10.6.8 on my MacBook Pro 5,1 2.4GHz. Eve is fine, using either 9400M or 9600GT. Looks a bit brighter too Or is it my hangover.

EVE is faster on 10.6.7 than on 10.6.6, so fingers crossed for 10.6.8.

MacBook Pro model 8,1 is a success, with a little FPS boost too; graphical shadows now work for me, too!
[offtopic]Finally Apple is getting on the graphics card bandwagon. Kind of sad when Windows can utilize Mac's hardware better. [/offtopic]
Stability is still poor post-Incarna, though. This isn't a bash against Incarna, as I actually enjoy the new interface. Unfortunately, loading the interface is such a risk for crashing (TransGraming library throws an error) that I feel EVE is simply more reliable (in terms of not crashing) with the Station Interface disabled. I want my Station Interface like all the cool Windows kids.

Any new Mac with ATI cards is in for a bumpy ride. I have 2009 Mbp 17" installed 10.6.8 seems good so far.

2011 iMac 27' i7 with the 2GB GPU, crashing under heavy load as in Jita system during protests, hard reboot required will submit info to CCP in a few.

I'm not sure that is due to the OS Update. What are you doing in system? In ship? In station? Follow Flynn on Twitter |

In space, watching the protest in Jita.
Seems to be a client issue as others are reporting the same thing in another thread.

Performance in CQ is poor ~10FPS , in space it's good ~25-30FPS I have not set everything to max. Resource cache enabled - off HDR enabled - off Depth effects - on Load station env - on AA - disabled Post processing - none Shader q - high Texture q - high LOD q - high Shadow q - low Interior effects - low

I suggest you adjust your gamma than. Why a forum in the year 2011 still has no automatic double post merge which can be done even with javascript mostly is beyond my understanding. |

[OT] Does anyone know when Lion will be available on the App store? The Euro - US cost would have me spend 3 times what a copy in the states would run. It's better to burn out then fade away... Carpe Diem. |

10.6.8 improves grafix stability and performance by a lot, at least on my 2 Macs (newest iMac and late 2009 MacBook Pro).

Just installed EVE on a brand new 2011 iMac 27" 3.4GHz i7 processor with 4GB of RAM and a 2 GB AMD Radeon HD 6970M. Running at full screen with High quality I have to say it is stunning... Runs as smooth as silk, and the textures on my leather jacket in CQ are amazing.
However you an heat a small house with the temperature of my Mac casing now (especially in the top right corner). I'll have to keep an eye on the temperatures that the system gets up to. I've got an upgrade to 16GB of RAM arriving in the next few days as well, so I'll see how that affects performance.

if anything it seems to be running even hotter now with the extra RAM, plus it's now disconnecting randomly with unhandled exception errors. |
