Okay, I read somewhere a few days ago about a supposed petition to suspend accounts for people that are now blocked from playing eve, but I have no idea where to find that. If that is true that we can suspend our accounts, are we getting the full amount of time we had left as of the point of the expansion's deployment, or are we going to get squeezed out of the days that have gone since deployment and date we find this petition?
I have read a few threads talking about a possible work around for those without shader 3 that will get people back in the game until they can upgrade. Right now I'm a student and kind of in the middle of a rock and a hard place. I have some cash, but I don't want to burn it on a new comp that I cannot justify beyond "well, I can't get into eve otherwise". There are other things that are much more needed then a way into eve, so kind of in a **** position.
So, what can I do?

If there is something like a "suspend account" because of shader 3, then I too would like to know!

This and if your PC can't handle it (no PCIE-slot or weak power supply), it's either the SM3.0 'emulator', there was one that supposedly could emulate it or a new PC. :/

What they failed to tell people is that some older SM3 cards won't work. I was planning on upgrading my card anyway so I'm not too ****ed about it.

All those trolls, there must be a nest somewhere...
"go buy a new card"
"but CCP gave everyone a warning 4-5 months ago"
In my first language, which is not english, we use to say: "If you dont have a fking clue, just keep your mouth SHUT." (Maybe it does not translate 100%, but you get the basic idea, dont you?!)
My best friend has only a Laptop, that does NOT have Shader3, he has no money for a new PC of any kind for the next few months, and his accounts are payed with PLEX bought for ISK, now guess what...
He canŠt logg in, canŠt make ISK, and has to look from afar how the remaining time fades away.
Is there anything that could be done?
(serious, non-troll answers only, please)

ShardowRhino,
I have no good answers. The way I see it is that you have only 2 options:
1. Spend you money for a new gaming graphic card with Model Shader 3.0. I thought Model Shader 4.0 would probably be better.
2. Stop playing EVE Online. Stop sending money to CCP. If you suspend your account, then your days left on your account will continue to tick away. Until gone.
Best luck in your future gaming fun.

I thought more of a way like:
- emulate shader 3
- freeze account so you can use it later on
Nothing this way?

If you use Mac then I heard you can use something called Bootcamp (is this like VMware workstation for Mac?) and install Windows in it. This is how a corpmate got back into the game.

I think you should focus on school :) School is very important for a young boy's development and your future depends on it!

I just whish there would be anyone here that is smart enuff to understand the question, mature enuff to post something usefull, and on top of this here in this forum.
Just does not look like those 3 things come together here.
And for that just-post-some-bull****-guy whose name I did not note: My best Friend is just poor, not a school-child, but appearently you are. So get back to your homework and stop waisting the time of people who dont happen to get EVE sponsored by their parents.

I think that dumb ass comment was aimed at me. Either the poster is an idiot that assumes only children are working on an education, looking for a boy, or ...well, I suppose those are the only two real options there. I'm 30, I don't need some dumbass comments from some dumbass fool that does not know how to answer a question properly.
I was hoping to see some kind of response from CCP regarding their mistake of not letting us know ahead of time. I know, its difficult for some people to understand that not all of us care about icelandic humor and breadcrumbs of information. I burned out on bothering with devblogs years ago as they rarely say anything until after things are released. As I have told others outside of this forum, the devs had several ways in which to tell us ahead of time outside of their blogs which I am sure the reader base is a lot smaller then the 100% that have to see the banners while trying to log in. Also, 4-5 months ago I wasn't subbed. I took a break and came back a month ago, logged in to change skills for a bit and only really got back into the game days before the release of the expansion. Pretty shady deal.
I'm looking on different sites for a gfx card that will work with this computer, but not cost so much that I wonder why I didn't just build a new comp, especially when a six core cpu is running for $150 or less.
As for Taipion's friend's situation, its a legitimate beef with ccp. It is funny that so many trolls are running loose when I can find hate about so much of the recent release on forums of a tabletop game.

CCP wonŠt respond here, they have messed up so much lately, I doubt anyone of them would dare to say something.
Though it would be increadibly awesome to have a solution for the problems they caused.
