I'm watching this forum turn into a base of rage and in all honesty I don't blame anyone for voicing their feelings based around the recent happenings.
With the latest information being given by people who can't actually offer up any proper answers, it must be asked. Where the hell are the official answers?
I feel like we're all talking to a brick wall at the moment. C'mon, get with the programme!

You have seen the thread by CCP Pann right?
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1536065
Beyond that they did say there would be a formal reply today at some point... Wait and see I guess.

Yeah, I caught that (it was quite hard to miss) but it doesn't really offer any proper insight into what's actually going on over at CCP.
As a fan of the game and CCP, I think we're all entitled to more. If they get around to giving a formal reply then great but it's not looking so good at the moment.
I'm starting to think that we've been given previous information just to make us shut up for a while.

I was going to ask this question myself. Stayed up late last night to see a response from CCP but aside from the thread mentioned which was obviously set up to buy them some time I dont see what they could be doing. Probably some emergency meeting followed by spin. As a new player I REALLY want to know where this game is going. Thought I knew, but obviously in light of the leaked discussion I have to question it like everyone else. Even if its not a plan of action but a debate why is the idea being entertained when they categorically stated there would be no RMT for virtual items and services that could directly impact gameplay?
Eagerly waiting this developer post, got my popcorn and pitchfork at the ready.

You might be right... I mean, CCP Pann actually said in her post and I quote, that it's an attempt to buy time as they figure things out.

The fact they have posted to say, 'um ok, we arn;t weathering the storm' says it all. I think theres alot of discussion going on in the background as to whats gonna be done. may come to nothing, but if the reported levels of cancelled subscriptions are true, they may take action. Could be anything form making things optional (have to wait a week or so for them to code it) or a total roll back of the server to pre patch (which i highly doubt).
Simple answer, you get a choice between ship spining and CQ, drop the price of items down 95% then i dont think anyones got anything to moan about.

It's really bad when a company hasn't come out of the wood-work to at least proper acknowledge the issues there-in with their own product. Especially when there's a lot of people waiting for one of their biggest hobbies to be discussed.
I applaud the staff that did reach out and try to offer bits of closure but inevitably it's only added more fuel to the fire. I'm sure as hell angry but I'm trying not to go way overboard before hearing some proper information.
It's grating now though, I've been waiting all day and I'm refusing to leave at this point. There's a lot at stake really, especially for long-time players (which I'm not one of but would like to be someday) who are feeling shunned.
I will say though that in all my years as a gamer, I've never seen such a public out-pouring of people who care for a game this much. I have huge respect for the EvE community. Unfortunately my respect for CCP is now wavering on what happens next.

All the rage really isn't about that, at least it shouldn't because that's a stupid goddamned thing to rage about.
1) Perceived dishonesty, particularly in what aurum will buy you in the future(vanity vs substance) 2) Performance issues: heat problems are individual problems, not CCP's problem, but issues like not being able to dualbox unless you're outside of station where all the gameplay takes place are kind of ridiculous. The option to remove CQ could be a fix for that, but a better fix would be to optimize the incarna cq engine. I hope to god that they aren't using that engine for Dust 3) Next to 1, this may be the most important: Lack of communication with substance. This isn't a typical game where you spend your $50 and you have a finished product that may receive a few patches over it's short lifetime. Most of us pay our subscription fees with cash every month. As part of that, some type of substantive communication can be expected and is practiced by every successful MMO(and I've been a part of MMO community teams on both sides and the MMO press since 1999, so I have experience in these matters).

I'm under the impression they were intending to get a threadnaught going so that they didn't have to delete/moderate the thousands of user threads that were being created in rage.

They could have easily employed ship spinning with Incarna but I guess they didnt realise how much people miss it. I am all for Incarna, the immersion and characters walking around. But what was promised isnt what we got. Poorly optimized and has memory leaks all over the place if the players posts are to be all believed. Dont understand why they only released Minmatar too, whats the point in a launch day for 1/4 of the content? Thats just poor in my opinion.
Love the idea of 'micro' transactions for people that want extra stuff. I wouldnt buy it but I having the option there is good. But the prices arent micro, not even macro they are just ridiculous! I am sure they wont lower the prices but they could surely add some stuff to the game which IS affordable for players.
More employee's working at CCP then ever before and from the views of the veterans they are releasing less and less content a year. Not only that but unfinished too.
I just want a CCP developer to come in here and sort out this mess. Explain the discussion on MT and assure us that it will never impact gameplay to benefit those with bigger wallets. Otherwise Im just going to let my 2 months run out and be done with the game. A terrible shame because I honestly think its amazing, but I was also buying into their future vision which has been tarnished very badly in the last 72 hours.

You'd think by now they would get the idea that this is kinda time sensitive--they community; right or wrongly, feels betrayed by the MT deception. I had hoped they would have taken it seriously and its looking like I'm going to be disappointed. . .again.
Difference being that this time if there is no attempt at communication before end of business then they are losing my business.

As I'd mentioned, this topic isn't about rage. It's more about asking when we may actually get some answers and trying to throw that ideology out there.
If it's rage people want, there's tons of it to go around. I'm more interested in the 'what next' factor of the issues.

Having seen the community react before, I'd imagine this could go on for a very long time. It's very much an anything goes rage-out at the moment.
As I said though, can't blame them when they feel their hobby is at stake.

You may have missed this in the Parlay threadnaught but Massively will be posting a "hard-hitting" interview with CCP Zulu today about the bru-haha.
Given Massively's usually fawning coverage of Eve, I expect it to be one prong of their PR strategy. Massively often simply echo's CCP's marketing spin on new features, etc.
But having said that, I'll be interested to see the interview .. sure to be an exercise in backpedaling and redefining the word "advantage" .. as in "Aur for Advantage" not being what you think it is .. oh, it'll be ships for cash out thin air but by CCP's thinking that's not P2W.

"Entitlement"
If nothing else, CCP should learn from this little interaction with its player base. There are responsibilities on both sides, yet very few are being met. We, the players, demand much, and we should(!); however, our demands should be accompanied with at least a moderate level of civility and well thought out arguments. Look at these forums....is there any wonder why we're not getting answers from CCP? It doesn't matter what they say at this point.

As much as I like Massively as a site, I'd much rather have the answers coming to the forum rather than to a third-party gaming site where any questions asked will fall on deaf ears.
I really don't think an interview will cut it. People are out for blood, there have been permaban(s) and everyone's mega uptight. We need someone to hit the forum and give the community a person to actually talk too.
I don't see that happening any time soon though at this rate.

They'll wait a couple days for everyone to vent, start locking the threads, make some weak half apology dev blog and hope the whole thing blows over. At best I'd expect a monocle price reduction and a handful of empty promises while sidestepping around the game advantage for aurum issue.

I agree but I think the media blackout these past 72 hours or so have just made things worse. Its obviously true that they want to implement it. Otherwise they could have just quashed the debate and categorically said "It was just a discussion, we will stay true to our promise and keep the game AUR for advantage free".
People just get more and more angry with every post they read from other members. Its something that should have been stopped days ago if it wasnt true.

I'm with Scarlett on this one. If it wasn't true they'd have jumped on the bandwagon, said that and nothing else would have come off it. The issue withstanding now is the fact that it is all probably true and crap hit the fan with the unleashing of that scathing in-house newsletter.
Anything said will surely be to try and put out the fires burning in the threadnaught topic. Otherwise, damage control will pretty much be in effect.
