I get a lot of these as rewards from my agent. Unfortunately they're stupidly bulky, and there are never any local buy orders - additionally, I can't reprocess them because there's no refinery at my station, and hauling them anywhere is a huge pain in the ass. What the hell?

R.A.M Stands for Robotic Assembly Modules iirc. That means they have to actually make a ship. Like robots. And it does make sense that robots that are able to make ships or other tech stuff are big.
However, R.D.B are Research Databases iirc. And why they are that big ... no idea. -----------------------

They can be refined, and they generate minerals that are near their sale value.

NPCss hould really buy them IMHO.They need those things to make ammo, etc dont they?
As it is its nearly impossible to sell them. Not a single buy order in the entire region for RAM-ammo/shieldtech/starship/hull/etc

Look, it's great that you have an Iteron V. I'm thrilled for you, really. It doesn't however change the fact that those items being so bulky is stupid and pointless.

Place them as a sell order then. Trust me they don't normally stay there more than a day or two. It's like waking up Christmas morning to a fatter wallet! :D

R.A.M. Modules are not bulky enough, After all they are huge robotic arms that build stuff.
R.Db however, should be 0.5 m3 (if they are supposed to be the computer the database is on), or 0.01 m3 (if they are the database software itself).

By that logic, data sheets should only take up 0.1 m3 or less. You know, I'd really love to get rid of the hundreds of thousands of god-damn data sheets my agent keeps giving me when he's not burying me under tons of other shit I can't do anything with.

You're absolutly right, CCP should change it.
Edit, On second throught maybe your agent should stop giving you data sheets altogether, and reward you with something else. I mean aren't you a Spy/Corptheif? I wouldn't give you any of my datasheets.

Aye, it does have some bright sides, though. About the best entertainment the game has to offer is ever-changing dimensions of the Damsel in distress... :s

What in god's name does my being a spy and thief have to do with the volume of robotic assembly modules?

It dosn't,
It has to do with being rewarded datasheets.
Security must be lacking at your agent's place if he gives away data sheets with details of the operation to someone in your line of work.

CCP decided to make tech II production worthwhile and profitable, and as such used it to promote manufacturing as a valid profession.
To make things more interesting, and not too easy, they countered the inherent profitability of tech II production. Part of that was making some items hard to get, another part was making them evil to transport.
And you want CCP to change that because you're too lazy to load up an indy occasionally ?
Oh, and I'm sorry, but 'there's no refinery' is perhaps the most pathetic argument possible. Nobody forced you to use that agent in that station; you chose to. If hauling items to repro was going to be an issue for you, then you should have thought of that when you decided to use the agent, not when you had a pile of stuff you wanted to get rid of.

In any case there's still the Trash It option to get rid of them.

Istvaan is once agian correct. We should be able to sit in the station and let the isk roll in while we are afk. Games are not meant to be hard they are meant to be beat.

MODS?!PLEASE?!?!?
1. Discussion of forum moderation in the forums is not permitted and may result in a warning. This includes "moderate this, ban that" postings. If you see any forum rule violations, or threads in need of moderation, please mail to [email protected].
2. Even if it wasn't against the rules, posting moderation requests in the same thread is rather useless ... if I look at the tread, I'd moderate it anyway, if not, I don't see your post either.
Thread locked because it already began to turn into a flamewar, and apparently all constructive things to be said about RAM sizes have already been said
