I really do not understand why being able to buy ships, ammo ect with real money is causing all this fuss
At this moment in time i could buy countless gtcs and purchase any item i wanted right now. There is no **** storm over this fact
Any of the new items to come i will be able to buy with isk through the market purchase of plex. No money needed.
Everyone will still be able to play the game for free and buy any of the new items through isk. Nothing has really changed im my eyes. So why are people so angry?

PLEX provides players without the $$ to pay for the game subscription while helping block off part of the EVE "black market" aka RMT.
AUR is just a gimmick to get players to spend more $$ and generates non-player manufactured items out of thin air.

The generation of these items will cause a needed isk sink if anything. Imo there are far too many supers in this game. And the wealthy spending isk on items that will consume the plex(isk) will lead to more isk being removed.
It should work both ways. Unless there are stupid amounts of people who will buy with RWT and none who uses isk to buy plex.

This is supposed to be a sandbox. CCP created it, puts things in it for us to play with. We make of the sandbox what we will.
What your saying is that we get a box, and need to pay for every grain of sand.
Want more? Gotta buy it. With real life cash.

That is ONLY because of all the RMTers that couldn't be stopped. Something had to be done. The solution, while not perfect, was needed.
And, with the way things are/were you paid cash to ccp for a timecode which you traded to another player that needed/wanted it for isk.
So, you got isk, someone got a plex. Fair trade.
But, from your line of thinking it's the same thing if CCP just outright sells you isk...which it is NOT.

True but when you buy your shiney new ship and some one with the hard cold cash steps up and buys the same ship but with vastly overpowered stats and buys the skill points to go along with it comes along and blows yours up( That you worked so hard for to gather all that isk ).. you will have to go buy more plex.. which if you havent noticed has jumped in price and will only go up if this goes through. Before Aurum announcement PLEX = 350mil +/- ... after Aurum announcement and ever since.. PLEX = 390mil on the low side to upwards of 500 mill..
Its not about the cost of things that has stuff stirred up. Mostly its the leaked info about the planned used of this new system to introduce things that would/will be giving some people (the rich) an unfair advantage over the common player.
There is also the wee concern over what the cost of said "golden items" might be since they seem to have lost reality over the price of a stupid monocle. Imagine what the price of the "Golden Ship" will be! |

Buyin items out of thin air devalues every last bit of work and time and resources put into the items properly made on the market. It gives the game a Pay2Win edge that is counter to everything the game did stand for.
Not to mention it is NOT AN ISK SINK. Why do people keep saying this, the isk doesn't go anywhere. Its a Plex sink, pure and simple, and the only way Plex is created is with real money.

I have been in eve since 2009. I have been here thanks to PLEX and the generosity of my fellow corp mates (I have medical issues so my $ is tied up.) So I have to work hard in the game to be able to play the game that I love to death. It takes my mind off my IRL issues, and I get to hang out with some amazing people.
What CCP is doing/plans to do (see the internal doc) = giving people with a bank account an edge over poorer players. THAT IS THE PROBLEM. I have devoted a LOT of time learning skills and earning the isk for the ships I have, and now CCP wants to make it so that people with more money than me can BUY THEIR SKILLS AND THEIR PREMIUM SHIPS and OUTCLASS me?
I don't want to have to pay for/earn game time in a game where a day 1 noob can suddenly be piloting a Nightmare with maxed skills just because he's wealthy.
SCREW That.

It has nothing to do with someone getting ISK for cash (via plex.) There are plenty of people who do this already.
The issue is people having to pay to get an advantage in game over another individual in game in addition to their sub. The fact that we were promised by ccp that MT wouldn't enter the game. The fact that they lied about that, and then said "but it will be only vanity items." The fact that according to their internal PDF, it seems HIGHLY likely that they lied about it being only vanity items. see where this is going and why so many people are angry/****ed?
Creating items out of thin air and selling them for Aurum is entirely against a completely player driven economy, moreso if it turns out to be non-vanity items. I know dozens upon dozens of people who play this game entirely for the market/industry aspects. You might remember something called PI, championed by the devs as being one of the last bastions of non-player created items being put into player control. Yet another game changing lie by ccp apparently.
I'm not against CQ, I personally love the idea of being able to play 'dress up' with a 3d avatar and buying vanity items isn't a big leap for me as I already purchase skins on occasion for League of Legends. That being said I'm not paying 70 dollars.. or even 15 dollars for a single item. I won't do that in LoL (legendary skins) and I most certainly will not partake in regards to eve. 3 dollars, 5 dollars here and there. Ok I can live with that, 15+ gets REALLY difficult to rationalize. 5 dollars = less than a soda at the cinema these days, 15 dollars = lap dance in Georgia. Not buying a virtual t-shirt for 15 dollars, I'll pay for gas and go get a lap dance.
