Has anyone else noticed that high sec belts don't seem to be lasting as long or yielding as much after this last patch?
Not only am I not able to continue mining as long as I normally do but other miners are moving into my system as they use up their belts faster than before. Was this announced anywhere in the the expansion discussion?

Seriously? That your dumb response? You could have gone to eve discussion with the rest of the whiners..there's plenty of postal fodder there. Looking at your history, npc corp for 2 months, I'm actually glad you didn't try to answer.
Yes, I asked a question about high sec; get over it.

Yep - noticed the same ... although we had a brief respite after an incursion in the system which (happy day) got rid of a stack of botters!!!
But yeah - I haven't played for a while and was doing a spot of rock chomping in front of the tellybox and noticed that rocks were popping quickly.
I also noticed that the mining lasers make a sound once when they start and then go silent... is that a change with Incarna? Still - today is not mining/PI day - today is ... look at the shiny new turrets day!!! My first bit of missioning a la Incarna!

In my craaaazy head this is by design. CCP is slowely scaling down mining belts until they introduce minerals for MT. Basically, its a "mining fix"
but then, im craaaaazy

Dorain, are you are total mouth-breather? I asked the question because this is not random. I've been to other systems and checked. I'm seeing signs a big change so I'm attempting to verify it. If you have no info you don't have to post..or even read this thread.

Use a scanner and see. You've probably just experienced an increase in traffic and the belts aren't having enough time to regenerate.

I already thought of that. A completely mined belt is a completely mined belt no matter who eats it. I have been popping these belts for a long time.
Aside from the fact that I mine the same belts every day and know who comes and goes in the belts I would agree with the possiblity that new traffic is somehow the cause..I have already compared the scans. Starting with the three systems I've been mining for 5 years. Yes, the rock appear to be coming back more slowly than they did before the patch. But I just wanted to hear from other ol timer miners to see if they have seen this.

THIS
Depleted belts can take up to 4 days to recover, or not as to me it seems that the weekends are good as are tuesdays and thursdays. The areas I have mined for years are reliably not worth mining on any monday, wednesday or friday.

Edited by: Celgar Thurn on 01/07/2011 20:57:50 I totally disagree with your statement that the Incarna patches have reduced yield in asteroid belts. Some places are becoming overcrowded at the moment though with miners. The Hek area is notably bad with office rents going through the roof presuming you can find one vacant. If you get the idiots that destroy every rock in a belt instead of being a little selective your system will indeed be ruined. It's not difficult though to find good systems that very few if any other people mine in. Just keep your mouth shut if you find one.

Edited by: Tatiana Nixx on 02/07/2011 01:11:52 Edited by: Tatiana Nixx on 02/07/2011 01:08:46 All it takes is one heavy duty miner depleteing one type of rock, a few days in a row, and the whole belt will take a hit in total volume of all rock types in that belt. I mine one type rock in a system where I'm often the only miner. If I strip the same belt several days in a row of that one type rock, the whole belt starts to dwindle away. Once I notice the type rock I mine is starting to become small, I switch systems for a few days to let it recover. It is not uncommon for me to strip an entire system of the one rock I'm after.
If you have a new miner in your system stripping out one rock type, that may be why the belts don't seem to recover as fast as they used to. One person can have a disproportionate effect on a belt and/or system if they only mine out one type rock.

It doesn't take much to decimate a system, a team or 4 hulks boosted by an orca can destroy just about any size system. I used run with 2 other guys and we could compleatly clean whole belts in under an hour.

yes I know.. I'm responcible for a lot of belt decimation.
I'm not talking about partially decimated belts coming back.. I'm talking about belts mined to nothing coming back. I have been mining these belts to nothing for years and watching their return. Anyway, that's what my post is based on.

who knows ? maybe they only last 20 minutes in space before self destructin
in any case, it wouldn't be the first time that a new patch or expansion would come out, with some small changes. like the U.I. being buggy or not being able to edit bookmarks in space and so on (like it happened before.
why don't you petition that ? only ccp should be able to say if they tweaked the belt respawn and they should say so, if they changed that, as a transparence of what they do.

There hasn't been any change problem is ; as you said new miners moved in ; that is probably the reason your rocks plop faster; also known as overmining
I suggest you either look for a ne mining system or wait till other miners leave
There plenty of backwater constellations in high sec with a 0,5 or 0,6 rating with plenty of belts and not many people
Don't be lazy ; olennty of other systems ________________________________________ Minmatar are like jedi knights, we use ductape as our force, it has a darkside and a sticky side
